LOGINIt took about 3 days for me to leave to go out and get my daughter. I had to rearrange some meetings and things of that nature. The hardest task was telling my mate and children of my child. I assured them even I was in the dark about her, and it was from a relationship I had prior to meeting their mother, who's my mate. Lisa was pissed and Sierra was upset that she wouldn't be the only girl anymore. Daniel was the only one who seemed unsure but kept his reservations to himself. Now, we're on my private jet towards the town that's halfway across the country to get my pup. By the time we landed, it's already close to 5 pm. It was me, Luke, and my commander Bruce, along with some warriors. My gamma, Jake, stayed behind to watch over things for me. We hopped into the rentals and sped off towards my daughter.
"Kwenali." I tested her name out. It felt so strange yet familiar. I was excited to meet her, but I was also really anxious. What if she rejects me? What if she thinks I abandoned her, when really I didn't even know of her existence? I tried to calm my nerves and assure myself that those things wouldn't happen. We pulled up into a beautiful neighborhood and stopped in front of the house number Minnie mentioned in the video. Her name is actually Missy, but because she wasn't no taller than 5' 4, everyone called her Minnie. Luke, Bruce, and I got out while the others waited in the cars. "Does she know we're coming? I don't want her to cry or faint or something?" "I would hope she does, Luke, but I'm assuming she doesn't know about her daddy either. Maybe her mother did what she did for Brandon and left a video." Luke and Bruce's commentary on our way up the driveway and to the door was not helping one bit. "Will you two shut the fuck up. I'm already nervous as hell. And y'all two talking like this is a wild life documentary isn't helping." They both snorted, trying to hold in their laughter. I got to the door and felt for the key on top of the door frame that was pretty high up. It wasn't a problem for me to reach since I'm about 6'3. I turned the key in the door and opened it. We walked in, and for the most part, it was silent. I was hit with the smell of Minnie. She used to smell like chocolate and butter, a sweet and savory smell that used to have me addicted. As we made our way further in, we heard a voice coming from what looked like the living room. No lights were turned on, but thankfully, the sun was still out, giving the house a light glow. We walked around a wall that separated the den from the living room. The voice grew louder the closer we approached. There, on the coffee table, sat a laptop opened to a video where Minnie was speaking. This video was different, though, and when I heard here call out Kwenali, I knew this was the same type of video I received. I looked down, and there she was, my tiny daughter. She was curled up beside the couch on the floor, sleeping to the sound of her mother's voice. I could still make out the tears that ran down her face. She was absolutely stunning. Her most striking feature, her hair. It fanned out around her and drapped over her face some. I kneeled down and pushed her hair away from her face, and my heart lept into my stomach. "Wow, B. Is this her? She looks just like her mom. She's beautiful." I heard Luke behind me say, but I was too caught up at gazing at my daughter. She was breathtaking. She smelled like a mixture of me and her mother. I have a natural forest scent. She smells like cocoa and leaves. Axel is practically pacing with joy that we found her and already adores her. That's when a thought settles in my mind. She smells like her parents, but she smells completely human. I take another whiff of her, and I don't smell a wolf at all. Axel and I both agree she's ours for sure, but we just don't smell a wolf. "Do you guys smell a wolf on her? Axel and I can't." Luke and Bruce sniff the air and come up with nothing as well. "Does that mean she's not actually yours?" Bruce asked, and I growled at him. He raised his hands in surrender. "I didn't mean it like that, alpha. I'm just asking because she smells completely human. That's all. It's crazy to think she's the child of an alpha but has no wolf. Not only that, but her hair color is silver." I frowned. She's mine, no doubt about it, but her hair being silver can be a problem. If she's who I think she is, then her life will be drastically different than what she's used to, solidifying Minnie's perspective of keeping her away from me was the best thing for her. I was so caught up in just seeing her that I completely forgot what her having silver hair could mean. "No. There's no way it could be that and have no wolf. That doesn't make sense." I turned to Luke as he spoke. Something wasn't adding up here. "Look, I don't know about all that. I'll just have to contact my parents when we get back. All I know is, she is mine and she's coming with me." I picked her up. She was light as a feather. Her skin was maybe a shade or two lighter than her mother's, but she, too, had that deep chocolatety glow against her skin, her hair being silver just highlighting it more. My daughter was absolutely gorgeous. Now that I have, she will never be without me ever again. "Grab her things, and let's go." Luke and Bruce did as they were told, and we all left to go back to my pack, the Blackcresent moon. She slept the entire drive back to the air strip and the entire 5 hour flight. I was beginning to worry since I didn't know how long she's been asleep before I got to her. Once we landed and got close to our borders, I mindlinked the pack's doctor and asked him to meet me at the packhouse in 15. Once back, I carried her back out in my arms while everyone else grabbed her belongings and took it in behind me to her room. It was late at night, so there weren't many eyes on us. I took her to a room that was on the same floor as my other children. Now that I'm thinking about it, she's the oldest. How will all this work?? She doesn't have a wolf, at least not one that I can detect. There haven't been a ton of hybrid babies, and none has ever been with a human. How did her mother carry and give birth to my child? That is a miracle. I'm sure everyone will have questions, but I will keep things slow and at a pace. I'm not gonna treat my child like a damn test tube, and I dare anyone else to try. I get to her room and lay her down. The doc came rushing in. "Alpha! What seems to be the prob..." His words fell short when he came face to face with my daughter. He gasped. "Who... who's this?" I looked at him then back to her. "This is my daughter, Kwenali." "Call me Kwen." I jumped to move closer to her in the blink of an eye. She slowly opened her eyes, and I was again met with the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. I couldn't help but smile at her.I sat still in the back of the large SUV, on our way to the royal Kingdom. The moment we landed, I felt the shift in the atmosphere. I knew I was expected to go to the royal pack, but the urgency I felt was new. Steph tackled me once he saw me and refused to let me go. Danny had to pry his hands from around me, so that everyone else could get a turn in giving me some love. Cersai walked up to me, slow and deliberate, unsure if I wanted his advancement. I looked at him, considering his movement, when suddenly his entire demeanor changed. His eyes hovered over me, and he pulled me into his body. Everything went silent when Elijah stood behind me with his family. Kera had to pull up quick and diffuse the situation. She introduced Elijah as her mate before I introduced him as my beta. The silence that fell over everyone was palpable. Elijah was the tallest of them all and built to hold all of that brute strength that came with it. Yet, he was gentle and kind and remained humbled. Stephanie's POV:I stood in the palace halls that stretched beyond what my eyes could see. Through the floor to ceiling windows, I watched the rain fall against them. A ragged breathe left from my body as I shuddered from memories. I haven't been to this place since I've had to do the unthinkable. My chest ached with the thought. I've distanced myself from everything in my past. Now I'm told a great grandchild I've never met, along with his daughter, who's my great, great grandchild, are in danger. Again, I am pulled into the mix, having to stand in between a war I wanted no part of. But as much as I am aggrieved, I couldn't deny the want to see my family once more. I wanted to see the son of Torista. I wanted to see his daughter. What kind of people are they? I know, at least, the daughter had to be someone special for the King to be so enthused by her. Marcus didn't say much about either one, yet his eyes spoke what his mouth didn't. He looked stressed, and I know my family is why h
King Marcus's POV:Back in the states: In the Royal Kingdom...My shoes clacked on the marble floors, as I made my way to the throne room. I was meeting with an old acquaintance that I haven't seen for some time. It took about a week before I was able to reach her. She hasn't shown her face here since the tragedy that happened years ago. She's been haunted by what she had to do for the safety of others. In that protection, she had to break her own heart. I kept her appearance, quiet, to only those who needed to know. My beta, Andrew and commander, Barrett, stood beside my throne on either side of me, awaiting my presence. I nodded to the both of them and they bowed in respect. I sat on my throne and waited for the woman to show up."How long has it been?"Andrew asked, standing to my right."48 years, give or take."I said, sadden at the reality."Damn. And she stayed away all this time?"Barrett questioned. I nodded."She couldn't live with the guilt. She exiled herself. My grandfath
I didn't know how I should feel about any of this. On one hand, I felt like my life kept unraveling, so anyone with any information that could potentially help me figure it out, was a welcome change. On the other hand, I felt like I was prying into my grandma's life without her permission. We talk about a lot of things. Her mother, was never one of them. My curiosity definitely got the better of me. We all sat waiting for her to tell her story. She took a deep breath in."I never thought I would be speaking to one of the great grandchildren of Loren. I haven't seen your grandmother since she was removed from our pack and sent to live at the royal Kingdom. By that time, I was already mated to my mate and had children as well. I was a little homesick and decided to visit my parents and siblings. Risenmoon pack is the most known for their Chosens. It was during that visit where I learned of what happened. I'm not too sure of your knowledge of history on your father's side, especially con
The saying "never judge a book by its cover" has never felt more true. Many would take one look at Kwen and only see her age or believe because she smiles, that her life has always been good. My heart literally broke for my little alpha. My wolf, Calm, whimpered out for her, as Kio rumbled underneath with rage. Kwen has been through so much, and it looks as if that was only the beginning. All eyes swung my way, as Kwen finished up. I sat up and took a deep breath in."My name is Elijah Summitt. My parents and I come from the States. We are a part of the Borderlands pack. We stay up north in the heartland. My aunt was originally from there as well. We have been top warriors there for generations, and it wasn't until recently that I found out about my true heritage, sorta like Kwen. About a week ago, this strange feeling took over me and suddenly, my eyes glowed the very color it does when Halo is present. At the same time, the book my father holds, began to glow as well."All eyes swif
I could do nothing but stare at the lady. It unnerved me that my body reacted the way it did to her. It's never done that.'Relax, Kwen. I know her.''Listen here, Halo. You got a lot of shit going on with you and I don't like it.'I said into my subconscious as I spoke with Halo. She chuckled and came forward and our consciousness blended.I felt myself smile."Of all the people I wasn't expecting to see, YOU are definitely not one I would've expected to come across."Halo said. The lady across from us smiled. I knew she was blind, but it felt as if she could see us or see right through us."You know me... I'm always keeping you on your toes."She said. The lady and Halo both chuckled. The lady bowed in reverence."It's an honor to be in your presence once more, alpha."The lady said. "The honor is all mine, Divine."Halo said, and right after that, both wolves fell back as us humans came forward. I looked at all the new people as they stared at me in awe. I sighed out."You all see
