Call me Kwen

It took about 3 days for me to leave to go out and get my daughter. I had to rearrange some meetings and things of that nature. The hardest task was telling my mate and children of my child. I assured them even I was in the dark about her, and it was from a relationship I had prior to meeting their mother, who's my mate. Lisa was pissed and Sierra was upset that she wouldn't be the only girl anymore. Daniel was the only one who seemed unsure but kept his reservations to himself. Now, we're on my private jet towards the town that's halfway across the country to get my pup. By the time we landed, it's already close to 5 pm. It was me, Luke, and my commander Bruce, along with some warriors. My gamma, Jake, stayed behind to watch over things for me. We hopped into the rentals and sped off towards my daughter.

"Kwenali."

I tested her name out. It felt so strange yet familiar. I was excited to meet her, but I was also really anxious.

What if she rejects me?

What if she thinks I abandoned her, when really I didn't even know of her existence?

I tried to calm my nerves and assure myself that those things wouldn't happen. We pulled up into a beautiful neighborhood and stopped in front of the house number Minnie mentioned in the video. Her name is actually Missy, but because she wasn't no taller than 5' 4, everyone called her Minnie. Luke, Bruce, and I got out while the others waited in the cars.

"Does she know we're coming? I don't want her to cry or faint or something?"

"I would hope she does, Luke, but I'm assuming she doesn't know about her daddy either. Maybe her mother did what she did for Brandon and left a video."

Luke and Bruce's commentary on our way up the driveway and to the door was not helping one bit.

"Will you two shut the fuck up. I'm already nervous as hell. And y'all two talking like this is a wild life documentary isn't helping."

They both snorted, trying to hold in their laughter. I got to the door and felt for the key on top of the door frame that was pretty high up. It wasn't a problem for me to reach since I'm about 6'3. I turned the key in the door and opened it. We walked in, and for the most part, it was silent. I was hit with the smell of Minnie. She used to smell like chocolate and butter, a sweet and savory smell that used to have me addicted. As we made our way further in, we heard a voice coming from what looked like the living room. No lights were turned on, but thankfully, the sun was still out, giving the house a light glow. We walked around a wall that separated the den from the living room. The voice grew louder the closer we approached. There, on the coffee table, sat a laptop opened to a video where Minnie was speaking. This video was different, though, and when I heard here call out Kwenali, I knew this was the same type of video I received. I looked down, and there she was, my tiny daughter. She was curled up beside the couch on the floor, sleeping to the sound of her mother's voice. I could still make out the tears that ran down her face. She was absolutely stunning. Her most striking feature, her hair. It fanned out around her and drapped over her face some. I kneeled down and pushed her hair away from her face, and my heart lept into my stomach.

"Wow, B. Is this her? She looks just like her mom. She's beautiful."

I heard Luke behind me say, but I was too caught up at gazing at my daughter. She was breathtaking. She smelled like a mixture of me and her mother. I have a natural forest scent. She smells like cocoa and leaves. Axel is practically pacing with joy that we found her and already adores her. That's when a thought settles in my mind.

She smells like her parents, but she smells completely human. I take another whiff of her, and I don't smell a wolf at all. Axel and I both agree she's ours for sure, but we just don't smell a wolf.

"Do you guys smell a wolf on her? Axel and I can't."

Luke and Bruce sniff the air and come up with nothing as well.

"Does that mean she's not actually yours?"

Bruce asked, and I growled at him. He raised his hands in surrender.

"I didn't mean it like that, alpha. I'm just asking because she smells completely human. That's all. It's crazy to think she's the child of an alpha but has no wolf. Not only that, but her hair color is silver."

I frowned. She's mine, no doubt about it, but her hair being silver can be a problem. If she's who I think she is, then her life will be drastically different than what she's used to, solidifying Minnie's perspective of keeping her away from me was the best thing for her. I was so caught up in just seeing her that I completely forgot what her having silver hair could mean.

"No. There's no way it could be that and have no wolf. That doesn't make sense."

I turned to Luke as he spoke. Something wasn't adding up here.

"Look, I don't know about all that. I'll just have to contact my parents when we get back. All I know is, she is mine and she's coming with me."

I picked her up. She was light as a feather. Her skin was maybe a shade or two lighter than her mother's, but she, too, had that deep chocolatety glow against her skin, her hair being silver just highlighting it more. My daughter was absolutely gorgeous. Now that I have, she will never be without me ever again.

"Grab her things, and let's go."

Luke and Bruce did as they were told, and we all left to go back to my pack, the Blackcresent moon. She slept the entire drive back to the air strip and the entire 5 hour flight. I was beginning to worry since I didn't know how long she's been asleep before I got to her. Once we landed and got close to our borders, I mindlinked the pack's doctor and asked him to meet me at the packhouse in 15. Once back, I carried her back out in my arms while everyone else grabbed her belongings and took it in behind me to her room. It was late at night, so there weren't many eyes on us. I took her to a room that was on the same floor as my other children. Now that I'm thinking about it, she's the oldest. How will all this work?? She doesn't have a wolf, at least not one that I can detect. There haven't been a ton of hybrid babies, and none has ever been with a human. How did her mother carry and give birth to my child? That is a miracle. I'm sure everyone will have questions, but I will keep things slow and at a pace. I'm not gonna treat my child like a damn test tube, and I dare anyone else to try. I get to her room and lay her down. The doc came rushing in.

"Alpha! What seems to be the prob..."

His words fell short when he came face to face with my daughter. He gasped.

"Who... who's this?"

I looked at him then back to her.

"This is my daughter, Kwenali."

"Call me Kwen."

I jumped to move closer to her in the blink of an eye. She slowly opened her eyes, and I was again met with the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. I couldn't help but smile at her.

  • I was never Human   Never no

Nicholas was away for a while. I didn't know for why, exactly, but I could almost bet it was because he hadn't gone through with the arranged marriage with him and Avadale. He probably had some smoothing over with his family. When we finally came together again, I needed some answers. He found me, deep in the woods behind my home. I sat around a fire pit, trying to hide from the breezy night. I didn't know why, but I could always tell it was him whenever he was near. "Cimone, what's wrong?" My eyes were on the flames, but I saw nothing. I was completely zoned out. The heat of the fire warmed the skin of my face, but did nothing to warm the cooling around my heart. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. "Tell you what?" I felt my insides flinch. "Do not play dumb with me, Nicholas. Why?" He said nothing for a while. "Because I never wanted to be with her. I've known her most of my life. She was a sweet girl. Always has been, but I never wanted her in that way." He said. He took

I thought my friend betrayed me.I was wrong. She did not know.I stepped closer to Cimone. Her darkskin began to match her green eyes. She looked sick. She became unsteady on her feet, swaying. I grabbed her forearm to balance her. Cimone stared off into nothing. I studied her face. She truly knew nothing. Her eyes finally crept back to mine."I-I-I... he-he... Nicholas? My Nicholas was yours?"She stammered out. I nodded my head."Yes, he was mine."She swayed more with my words. I escorted her over to a chair in the corner of the room. We sat. Neither of us said a word."I am so sorry, Avadale. Had I... I would have never..."Cimone began to say. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly, trying to process what was happening. I clasped a hand around hers."It is alright, now, Ci. Now that I know you didn't know, all is forgiven."Her eyes widened in suprise. She squeezed my hand."Do you mean it? Honestly?"Her eyes gleamed with hope at reconciliation, and I was happy to oblige. I smiled.

  • I was never Human   Fallout

The unfolding...My sister and I have been separated for some time now. Celene went off to be with her new found mate... I had no idea that we could be mates with wolves. Technically, she and I were still human, but anything is possible. We officially decided to parts ways when she wanted to ask our mother to become a wolf. I was incredibly suprised by her wanting to become a wolf in body and soul. She came to me, asking if I wanted to join her, and that I should. Since we've been given our powers, we have done right by our mother and kept to our promise of helping and freeing others. Celene feels as though with what we do, our lives are constantly at risk, and we would be far better equipped as wolves to protect ourselves. She wants to give up everything she is to become something else.I can't.I cannot erase who I am in order to become someone else. I was already stripped of my past and the future I could've had, had I grown up with my parents and in my own home. My name was taken

  • I was never Human   The turning of Avadale

Centuries ago... I roamed about the fields and headed to the forest, looking for ingredients to this spell I wanted to cast. A woman, in the nearby village, came to me, begging to help her child. Her daughter had gotten sick, and she's been sick for a while now. No one else was willing to help, so I took it upon myself, and decided to help her. The sun shined, sparingly, through the branches as I made my way further into the forest. I carried a basket with me to fill it with the herbs, berries and plants I would need to gather. I tied the base of skirt up to keep it from getting wet by the small stream that ran by my village. There's an herb that grows right beside water, that is vital, to a few of my potions. They only grow during the spring and fall months. Winter is too dead and summer is too sweltering for it to survive. As I dug through the wet, sandy mud, I heard the snapping of twigs nearby. My head popped up. I scanned the surrounding area around me. A little in the distance,

  • I was never Human   Strange woman

Daniel's POV:None of us were expecting Kwen, Elias, and Kyle to return so soon. So when they entered the conference room, it was a shock to us all. When I saw her, nothing physically seemed different about her, but she felt different. The way she moved around the room was more assured or solid. She spoke with undeniable authority, and put the king's advisor in his place. The way he spoke to my father, and how condescending he was, it ruffled many of our fur, but there wasn't much we could do. We weren't royalty, and we had to oblige a sitting king and his people, while on pack grounds. Kwen doesn't give two shits about titles or the people that wear them, if you're an ass, she'll tell you. For whatever reason, she needed to speak to the king and our dad in private. The rest of us was waiting for them to return."Is it me, or does Kwen feel different?"Steph asked to us all. I figured he'd be one of the first to notice."You thought so too?"Psy said."She does. She's felt like that s

  • I was never Human   She's alive

Kwen's POV: I, very quickly, learned that I didn't like the King's sidekick. He's been extremely rude, though the king has been kind in his approach. I can see where Ismelda get her low key diplomatic presence from. The looks on their faces showed how confused they were seeing a "human" roaming with wolves and vampires, especially one that's real friendly with the Alpha Prince. "Prince Cersai... you're mated... to... a-a... human?" The man, that wasn't the king, questioned. He couldn't even hide his distaste for me. I felt Cersai relax around my body, as he leaned back in his chair, his arms resting around my waist. "Kwen." He said, softly. I flipped my head around to him, suprised. He looked from them to me, and I could damn near feel the love that his eyes held. A smile crept onto my face. He finally sees me. He's finally allowing me to be me, while he supports me. I squeezed his hand that laid against my stomach. I turned back to the king and his friend. "I am not just hum
