Chapter 5. Pheromones

"My parents have passed away," Altair replied casually.

Enne immediately stopped in her tracks. She didn't mean to bring up such a sensitive topic.

A smile appeared on Altair's handsome face as he could see Enne's expression. "I'm fine."

Enne didn't say anything else. She awkwardly cut the meat in front of her and continued eating.

Enne tightened her brown coat as the snow began to fall. As a newcomer to the place, she didn't know what tasks to do. Enne glanced at Altair, who seemed busy discussing with a man of his age, wearing a serious expression. They seemed occupied, and Enne didn't want to disturb them.

When Enne went to the kitchen, the servants didn't allow her to help with their tasks. Enne was confused, not knowing what to do. In the end, she could only stare at the falling snow in Altair's yard.
