Gladys stood in the kitchen with Joan in front of her. She sighed exasperatedly and then handed a tray to her.“I don’t know why I’m doing this. Just drop the tray and come right back down, okay,” the woman said, and Joan nodded excitedly.“Oh, aunt, I will be right back,” Joan responded humbly, leaving the kitchen to where she was sent.Joan rushed the stairs, as she was curious to take a look at the upper interior of the house.
