Sophia's POV
The strange man smiled at me as I followed him quietly, "There is no need to be scared. Relax, you are at home here and I will not hurt you".
I grew even more curious, "Who are you exactly and why are you being nice to me?".
He stopped and I mistakenly bumped into him. "Ouch, I'm sorry about that. I rubbed on my forehead which bounced on his bulky muscled back.
He waited some seconds before he turned to face me, "Have you always been this loud?"
I was speechless. I stopped to think of what I wanted to say next before I opened my mouth to say it.
"Usually, I am around people who want me dead or at least want me trapped somewhere, you seem different".
His expression had hardened. He didn't look as friendly and calm as he did at first.
"Do you enjoy being tied? Would you prefer I do that to you?"
I shook my head profusely. Not. Who would want that?
"I am sorry if I angered you with my questions, I'm just trying to know better".
He nodded slowly. I noticed the thickness of the hair on his chest as the wind blew his shirt open.
"I know what you must be feeling, however, you are not here for fun. This is not a vacation. Bear that in mind and be patient. For now, all you need to do is to heal well and then, I shall tell you what you are here for".
He walked away while I stood watching.
"What a weird man".
I returned to the room and crawled into my bed.
"I should stay put then". I dragged the bed cover over my neck and slipped deeper into the bed. My heavy eyelids fell and opened occasionally. My body was tired but I needed to be alert.
"I should not trust a stranger".
But this stranger had a soft bed. How could I resist after I had not been able to get a good night's sleep because I was battling for my life?
"Just a little", I mumbled to myself before everything went back.
A loud thud on the door jerked me off from my bed.
I turned to my sides confused, searching desperately for where the noise had come from. Finally, I located it.
The woman who had treated me was standing before me. She looked upset and held a suitcase in her hand.
"You need to wake up. We need to go home. The boss asked me to make sure you arrive". She said,
"But why did you have to be so loud?" I questioned with a sleepy eye. I stretched and proceeded to stand from the bed.
"You tried to escape and the boss thinks I treated you terribly. He has plans to change me and this is all because of you".
My heart sank and I felt horrible.
"I didn't mean to. I am sorry". I came closer to her and clasped my hands together, "Forgive me".
"It's no use. The boss doesn't want you to be jokes with and so he would rather fire me. I deserve it. I can not go against the boss' wish. Come, I have to drop you off at his home before I leave".
I asked if I could talk to him about his decision and she refused. "You would only cause me more harm. Please don't."
I wondered why she was so afraid of the strange man. As I tried to find out who he was that made her so scared, I noticed her trembling. I ended up leaving it alone.
"Please", she thanked me when I said I would drop it.
I arrived at a mansion far bigger than my stepfather's house. I gasped as I walked into the land and stood before the mansion, admiring the marbled tiles that lined the walkway. Trees and beautiful flowers had been planted outside the house. The mansion was painted brown and it was illuminated brightly by the lights that were placed beside it.
I marveled.
"This is beautiful''. The woman didn't bother to answer me. She simply asked me to walk faster.
She snatched my bag and walked me to the front door. One knock on it and she yelled.
"We are here
"I brought her to the boss as requested".
The large wooden doors opened gently. Their hinges squeaked as they widened up enough for both of us to pass through.
"Welcome, Miss Mirabel '' Two girls dressed in a maid's uniform came from the door under the staircase. They bowed when they reached her and took our bags from her.
I noticed they were very young and also stoic.
Their eyes moved to me and they sneered.
My jaw dropped but I quickly picked them back up.
"This is Sophia. She is the boss' guest. Be nice to her or you will end up like me. I am being relieved of my duties temporarily because the boss caught her trying to escape when she was in my custody. Make her feel at home".
They chorused a loud "Yes, Ma'am", but something about the way they looked at me made me think it would not be as smooth as I thought.
I asked for their names but she didn't bother to mention.
"Pretend they are all invisible and only call on them when you need them".
That felt offensive to the very least but I had learnt not to ask questions anymore.
I was going to stick to whatever they told me and do just that.
They called her to the side and began to whisper while I looked around the house. I noticed the interior decoration was nice. The stranger did good work with marbles, royal blue paint, and that wonderful chandelier that was probably longer than me.
My neck twisted while I tried to count the diamonds in them. I felt an ache in my back. I screamed out and fell on the floor.
The maids rushed to me and so did the woman.
"You are still weak. You need healing and rest. Why would you do that?" I watched her point to the maids, "Join me, let's carry her".
I felt a presence walk through the door, "Allow me".
The journey was long and arduous, each step bringing them closer to their destination and Derrick felt a sense of purpose driving him forward all through. A determination to bring an end to the man that had plagued their pack for far too long.As they neared Victor's hideout, Derrick could feel the tension mounting. But he pushed aside his fears, focusing instead on the task at hand as they prepared to face whatever awaited them. His men waited behind while a handful of them followed the prisoner. Finally, they reached their destination, a discarded building hidden deep within the forest, its walls cloaked in shadows as if hiding secrets of their own. Derrick's heart pounded in his chest as he surveyed the scene before him. His senses were on high alert as he realized he never could have expected Victor to use a place like this. The prisoner led them inside, his footsteps echoing through the empty corridors as they moved deeper into the darkness. Derrick's heart pounded in his chest a
Derrick leaned forward, his eyes locked onto the prisoner's face, his heart pounding with anticipation. "Where is Victor?" he demanded, his voice edged with urgency. "And who were you running from?"The man took a deep breath, his gaze flickering between Derrick and Brandon as he weighed his words carefully. "It's a complicated matter, Alpha Derrick. You see, we were about to leave for battle," he began, his voice low and hesitant. "But when we went to check on Alpha Victor, he wasn't there. I went to call him from his hideout, and when I arrived, I saw him... I saw him with his fingers on the floor, chanting words."A shiver ran down Derrick's spine at the man's words, a cold knot of dread forming in the pit of his stomach. Whatever Victor was up to, it was clear that it was something far more sinister than they had anticipated."And who were you running from?" Derrick pressed his voice tight with apprehension. The man swallowed hard, his eyes darting nervously around the room before
Back at the pack house, Derrick wasted no time in implementing his plan. As his men corralled and subdued Victor's fleeing warriors, he issued orders with precision and authority."Detain them all," he commanded, his voice cutting through the chaos of the captured men being brought in. "Lock them up tight. We need to find out what's going on."His soldiers moved swiftly, their movements coordinated and efficient as they ushered the prisoners into makeshift holding cells, their hands bound securely behind their backs.Once they were all secured, Derrick made his way to the cells, his footsteps echoing in the empty corridor as he approached the captives. His eyes scanned the faces of the defeated men, searching for any sign of weakness or defiance."Who's in charge here?" Derrick demanded, his voice cold and authoritative as he addressed the group.A tense silence hung in the air for a moment before a man stepped forward, his demeanor defiant despite his predicament. "I am," he replied,
It's been several weeks since Derrick was able to escape the attack, reuniting him with his Sophia and son, Tate. But they knew they couldn't rest. Alpha Victor was still out there, plotting goddess knows what. The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the rugged landscape as Sophia stood in the fading light, her hands clasped tightly in prayer. The soft rustle of the wind through the trees was the only sound, mingling with the murmured words of her entreaty to whatever higher power might be listening."Please, let him come back to us. Keep him safe, watch over him," she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of fear and hope. "Guide his steps, shield him from harm, and bring him home victorious."Tears glistened in her eyes as she finished her prayer, a silent plea hanging in the air as she gazed out into the distance, willing her words to reach her husband wherever he may be.Behind her, Derrick emerged from the dressing area, his eyes tender as he watched
Sophia's POVSomehow I felt Brandon was part of the people admitted, I went with Brandon and we walked into the ward where the two strangers were kept.My gaze traveled to the bed and there he was seated beside a lady on the bed, "Derrick," I muttered. Immediately he stood up and ran towards Brandon, they did a handshake, which I have only seen Brandon do with Alpha Caleb."Welcome Alpha Brandon," he said and I was shocked. I couldn't believe my ears, Brandon is an alpha? He stood gazing at me, we kept mute staring at each other with tears rolling down his eyes and mine.We moved at the same time and we hugged each other, it was so priceless. This is a moment I have been longing for over the past months, to be in his embrace. We hugged for a few minutes, as he ran his hands through my hair, while he patted me on my back."I have missed you, my love," he muttered as he sobbed."I have missed you also, what took you so long?" I asked sobbing, we disengaged from the hug staring at each o
Alpha Brandon's POVA few meters from Alpha Victor's pack, Wisdom asked that I bring the car to a stop, I did while waiting for his next instructions."We won't be allowed to get in because we aren't part of the pack, we need another means to get in," Wisdom said as he took off his seatbelt.I did the same and we came out of the car, "Come with me, keep your eyes open and your ears open."Caleb and I nodded our heads as we walked with him along a bushy path, it was a long walk, but the distance wasn't the problem. What we had our mind fixed on was how we were going to get her out of the dungeon he kept her.As we moved, we stopped right at the front of a rock, which seemed like the end of the road. "Where are we heading to?" Caleb asked, breathing heavily."Inside the rock, it leads straight to the basement," he muttered and we were both shocked.I had to look at the rock again, "How do we get in, there's no opening anywhere and how sure are you about this?""I am fucking sure because
