Chapter 9

Sophia's POV:

"Father please", I shifted backwards. The brought behind him made it hard to see what face he had on. Usually, he always had this cruel smile on him but today, he had an even cruel look, I could sense it.

I didn't have the luxury of time to wait and get a reaction as I knew my stepfather to act at the speed of light ever since he got his powers as an alpha. I turned my back and leaped for the nearest tree as I moved from his face.

"Wait!", I could hear one of the masked people say but I didn't care. Freedom was more important to me… I leaped on my first, second, and third tree, thinking I was completely acing it and about to be set free when I felt something on my ankle. It grabbed me and before I had the chance to say anything. It yanked me to itself.

I fell back into a body that scented differently from my stepfather's. I looked up, "Derrick".
