As I sat in the front room, unsure of what to do with myself, my thoughts drifted back to my mom. Was she ok? Was she still looking for me? I thought of Alaina. She had told me in the first few months that my mom had taken some time off work to look for me. How was Alaina doing?

Ink told me how Alaina had been to his studio a few years back to get the same tattoo that was sitting on my arm. The tattoo that represented my past, the past that, although I despised, made me who I was. I wouldn’t have been alive right now if I hadn’t spent 10 years being abused by my stepfather.
