“Wait…” I heard Carla say.
The doctor stopped and turned back to her.
“And you are?” he asked.
“My name is Carla Clearwater.” My mother explained.
“Are you a blood relative?” the doctor asked, confused.
“I’m not… but my daughter is.” I was in shock. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, that I wasn’t inhaling enough oxygen quick enough.
“What are you talking about?” Rider asked, as I started to gasp for breath, Rider must have heard me panicking and turned to me, and pulled me into his solid body, holding me impossibly close to him.
