After being completely humiliated in church, I ran back to my room. I had heard Rider standing up for me as I ran out of the room, begging myself to control my tears. I didn’t want anyone to see me cry. It wasn’t long after I had thrown myself on my bed when I heard Rider at my door. He told me I had half an hour before he came back, I knew I wouldn’t be able to get rid of him again, so I needed to get my ass up and get shit done.
My humiliation soon turned to anger at my rejection in front of all my brothers, and I knew I didn’t want to face them anymore. Without thinking it through properly, I grabbed my suitcase out of my closet and started to throw my stuff in. I was done. I wanted out.
