"I want you"

ONE

Wiping off beads of sweat and water with an angry swipe, Linda (Melinda) thrived with her fast jogging despite the down pour the heavens kept releasing on her. She was the only one jogging on the pedestrian walk, in one of the remote areas in Westwood,in the city of Boston. It was close to four months since her escape from the home of the Wrights. She had ended up in an abandoned old dilapidated building she found close to the woods. Her freedom was beautiful but it only deprived her of quality feeding. During her first month of her newly found freedom, she fed mainly on shrubs and veggies. The subsequent months saw her improving in the standard of her living. She had first of all gotten a job in a bar. She worked as a waitress in a small bar that has low customers before graduating to one of the most successful restaurants in the town, were she worked at shifts and was opportuned to have two days off during the week.

It was on one of her morning shifts she encountered a regular customer who had a some what shady, alpha male aura. He was the reason she was jogging her frustration and fear out this morning. After days of sending her unreadable looks, he had whispered the words "I want you, I always get what I want." After saying those words, mysteriously he stopped coming to the restaurant. This morning would make it the fourth day of his 'absenteeism' if he didn't show up at the restaurant.

Owing to this, she could not help but feel she is being watched. There was always this sense of dread lingering in her subconsciousness. She despised the feeling of fear of the unknown. She wanted her freedom from fear of whoever that man with the look of the devil is. Yes, he was dangerously handsome as far as she could remember. He had the look of steel. His eyes had such great intensity that made her wince each time she caught him staring at her, and this could be one of the factors contributing to her fear of him. Amongst other factors was the fact that he smelled rich. If wealth had a smell, it would definitely be how he smelled that day when he grabbed her hand to whisper the words that haunted her this very moment.

"Well, if he is hunting me, I will be prepared. I can't take this nonsense anymore" she said to herself with every huff of breath she let out as she kept on jogging. She made a mental note of the windows in 'her' house that needed a burglary proof. "Today is pay day. I'm so investing in my security. I could use my free days to learn Taekwondo and boxing."

Hearing herself procure solutions to her problems made her proud of the independent woman she was becoming. The smile that had managed to creep on her face disappeared instantly she was face to face with her house. In front of the house was the 'alpha male', in a hoodie that concealed the intensity of his eyes. "Speaking of the devil" she muttered. She was torn between running away or challenging him. She chose the latter. "Who are you? And What do you want?" She half yelled. Her voice had the undertones of fear and annoyance. She inched closer to him but maintained a fair distance. "One question at a time Missy. We have all day" he said, adjusting his standing position for emphasis.

" What?" She gasped. His voice like before had that chilling effect on her.

" You called in sick, you're not going to work for the next three days or more if the need arises" he replied, staring at her with a look that could melt only that she was doing a good job of maintaining her balance.

"What are you talking about?" She whispered. Panic seized her voice. Her heart was racing widely, her mouth was agape.

"You're not to show up at that restaurant because i called in sick on your behalf. As your fiancee, I had to let your boss know of your predicament, which is supposedly very bad" he said. " Shall we?" He continued, gesturing at the entrance door.

"Fiancee? What are you talking about? Who are you? Are you crazy?" She finally found her voice.

" You ask too many questions, woman" he said, face palming himself. He was visibly getting annoyed.

"For someone who is in this state of confusion, loads of questions should be asked. Now, get out of here" she said, pausing at every word for emphasis.

He laughed. What?

"Guts, I like that. Look, I know the owner of this house. You seriously don't want to live on the streets or sleep in your restaurant which is impossible. So, cooperate with me. It's a win win situation or a win lose situation. Choose wisely sweetheart"

Sweet, heart? " What do you want with me?" She asked, glaring at him, tears were almost clouding her eyes. She hating the feeling of helplessness he was giving to her.

"I believed I have indicated that earlier. Incase you've forgotten, what I want is you" he replied.
