Brianna got ready for her new job. She wasn't seriously dressed, given that it's an eatery and there's a uniform for staff. She would eventually get changed. She was having breakfast when her phone rang, it was Riley again. Brianna ignored it. She wasn't in the mood for a chit chat.
She was going to tell her about her job after her first shift.
It rang the second time. âShe's so persistentâ Brianna complained and answered the call.
âHey, were you still sleeping?â Riley asked from the other end. âNo. What's up?â Brianna asked.
âDid you get the mail too?â Riley asked.
Brianna didn't understand what Riley was talking about. âWhat mail?â She asked.
âChanges were made to our scheme of work for the semester and the new scheme was emailed to everyone. Didn't you receive it?â Riley asked
âWhat? No. I mean, I haven't checked. When was it sent?â Brianna asked as she reached for her laptop. âLast nightâ Riley replied.
Brianna opened her G***l and saw the mail from her school, but something else got her attention.
She couldn't believe her eyes, an email from Frostborne was staring right at her.
She couldn't contain her excitement and screamed so loud, forgetting she was on a call.
âHey Psycho, my eardrumsâ Riley yelled from her end.
âSorry, sorry, sorry but I have to go right now,â she said in a hurry as she read the details of the mail. Her interview is in less than 30mins and the distance from her house to Frostborne is close to 25mins. âWhat's up, B?â Riley was asking from her end. âGirl, we'll talk later. I have to be somewhere in 20mins. Byeâ she hung up.
She was about to run out when her mind drifted to her outfit.
âOh my! This is terrible for Frostborneâ she immediately ran back to her closet and started searching for something else to wear.
Her search for what to wear reminded her that she seldom dresses corporately, therefore she had only a handful of corporate outfits.
She then came across a simple office dress her mom got her during one of her school presentations.
âPerfect!â She exclaimed and quickly changed up but there was a problem. The dress was somewhat tight on her, revealing her physique way too much.
âNo, no, no, no, don't do thisâ she begged the dress, but that was it.
She rushed to her dressing mirror and looked at it again.
âNot bad but too hotâ she said and grabbed her purse.
â â â â
Few blocks to Frostborne, Brianna realized she was really thirsty and needed coffee for motivation. Besides, coffee was her mood booster, especially for a day like this. She stopped by a coffee shop to get one for herself.
âPlease hurryâ she said to the attendant.
She had 10 more minutes to make it there in time. She kept tapping her foot as she waited for her coffee. âHereâ the attendant called out.
âThanksâ Brianna said, getting the coffee and ran off immediately. Five more minutes to go.
She quickly rushed towards Frostborne's gigantic building, the doors opened to her without lifting a finger, she rushed in, âwowâ she exclaimed at the magnificence. She tried bringing out her phone to take a picture âMy phone!â she exclaimed, checking her bag for it.
âShit!â She had left her phone on the table she was sitting on while waiting for coffee. She had to run back to the CafĂŠ.
Thankfully, the phone was still where she left it so she quickly picked it up and ran back to Frostborne. She was 10mins late already. She kept praying to be lucky to get interviewed.
Being late for an interview mars one's chances of getting the job. In her haste she hit someone, emptying her cup of coffee on the person.
She froze.
How bad can today get? She thought as she stared at the person's shoes which had droplets of coffee on them. Thank goodness they were leather and could be cleaned. She crouched to her knees immediately, âI am so so sorry. I wasn't paying attentionâ she said, using her palms to clean the shoes.
âDon't do that!â A voice thundered. She froze for the second time. Does he mean I shouldn't clean his shoes after messing it up? she wondered.
âGet up and be on your way, next time be more vigilant. We don't act carelessly hereâ the voice said.
Brianna was too shy to look at his face. His voice sounded like magic, so she didn't dare stare at his face. âAt least I should clean it. Or would you prefer I get you another pair?â She asked calmly, looking at the shoes.
He laughed, âBuy another pair? These are limited editionâ he said and she opened her mouth in shock. âI am so so sorry. At least let me pay for your dry cleaning or somethingâ she offered, dipping her hands into her purse. She realized she didn't have much in there.
âSorry, this is all I haveâ she said as she brought out 10 dollars.
âI wish I could settle it completely,â she said, completely embarrassed. Brianna didn't lift her face the whole time, she was shy to death.
â â â â
Derek stared at the clumsy girl who emptied her cup of coffee on his newly bought pants and shoes. She hasn't even spared him a glance. Her face has been down the whole time.
She offered to pay for dry cleaning and brought out 10dollar.
Where in the world does 10dollar dry clean clothes? he wondered.
âI didn't ask for anything, miss. I said it's fine, you can be on your wayâ Derek said. She had bumped into him with so much force which proves that she was in a rush.
âOnce again I'm sorryâ she said for the umpteenth time. Derek was already tired of her apologies but he still stood there, watching her act like a cute little cat.
Her dress hugged her perfectly and it was his favorite colour â red.
He couldn't stop staring as she walked away hurriedly.
He was curious to know what she looked like, but when he tried to lift her chin with his hand, she started walking away so he dropped his hand.
âFind out which department she's inâ Derek said to Rowan as they took his private elevator to his office.
â â â â
After Rowan found out Brianna wasn't an employee but an interviewee who was super late and reported to Derek, Derek left what he was doing and went to the HR department. He headed straight to the interview room.
Brianna was the last to be interviewed, since she came in last. Derek walked in. Everyone stood up, except Brianna, she was completely lost in her head.
âWelcome, Mr. Leisterâ everyone chorused.
Brianna sluggishly stood up, even though she didn't understand what was going on.
âGo on with the interviewâ Derek said to the interviewer. âShe came in very late sir and that already tells ill about her, so we decided not to interview her. It would be a waste of timeâ she replied bluntly.
Brianna's heart fell. She expected this and yes, she got it. She held back her tears. Why did she forsake her eatery job offer for something she couldn't reach?
âInterview her,â Derek said.
âSir?â The interview asked
âI said interview her now,â Derek added. âYes sirâ was the interviewer's reply.
âWhat?â Brianna turned to see her Saviour.

â NEW YORKâ Brianna and Derek were finally having the trip to Greece. A trip was one of her graduation packages and she chose Greece since Derek suggested it once. They were on the flight and Brianna was lying down with her head placed on Derek's thighs, eyes closed.âCan't believe it took you so long to agree to come to Greece. Do you have anything against the ancient city?â Derek asked stroking her hair. She smiled, âI have nothing against Greece of course. I just wasn't ready to fly around as much,â she replied. âAnd why was that? I have a private jet, you don't have to fly with people if that's the problemâ Derek saidBrianna shook her head, âthat's not it. I just wasn't ready,â she simply said Derek nodded like he understood, he didn't want to push it, âdo you think you're ready now?â He asked again and she nodded.âVery ready,â she said.âYou should've come with me two weeks ago though, it was boring without you,â Derek saidBrianna turned to him questionably âBut you said it w
â NEW YORKâ Everyone's head turned towards the elegant woman walking with so much grace towards themâShe looks familiarâ Derek mummured, Brianna turned to him, âyou knowâŚââMom!â Riley screamed and ran to meet her. They hugged each other.âOh!â Brianna's eyes lit up.She was worried about Riley breaking down later if her mom didn't show up.âThat's her mom?â Derek whispered into Brianna's ears and she nodded.âThough this is my first time seeing her,ââReally?â Brianna nodded. âOh my God, she's a goddess! I see where Riley took all her features from,â Brianna gushed.âOh my! Did you see her smile? I might pass out, damn! She's indeed gorgeous. I used to think it's the edit doing so much to her on TV but no, the camera doesn't even do justice to her beauty! I'm soâŚâDerek tapped on her thigh to distract her.âWhat?â She asked.âYou're wetâ he said and she blushed. âDon't let my parents hear that,â she joke-threatened. Derek chuckled.âI've seen her a couple of times though, she once m
â NEW YORKâ Brianna and Riley sat close to each other at the ceremony, talking about and giggling over almost everything.Derek mounted the podium to give his valedictory speech and all the girls started blushing and smiling helplessly. Brianna rolled her eyes at their disgusting character. It was evident that they all weren't paying attention to what he was saying. Every attention was channeled to checking him out and wondering how good he would be in bed.âDo you think he would last a lifetime in bed? Looking at him makes me wet,â a female student said, eyes fixed on Derek who looked everywhere but her.Brianna's eyes widened at such shamelessness. She adjusted in her seat feeling uncomfortable.âI bet his mouth could do one thousand better things than talking. Ugh! That tongue!â another said and Brianna couldn't help but groan angrily. She thought it was ridiculous to think such things of a man you barely knew, except on paper.âThe interesting part is, he has no girlfriend. I'm tot
â NEW YORKâ The graduation ceremony was about to begin, and parents were trooping in and taking their seats.âWe're so proud of you, Briaâ Brianna's mother said, holding her hands with almost teary eyes.âI've always known that, Mom, and I appreciate you,â she turned to her father and said âboth of you,â then opened her arms for a hug.âMe tooâ her father said and they all had a family hug.âYou've done well too, Riley. I'm sure your parents are proud,â Andaline said to Riley. Brianna was about to stop her mother from saying more when Riley waved it off and smiled sweetly at Andaline âThank you so much,â she replied Brianna had earlier told her parents to try not to dwell too much on Riley's parents or ask her things about them, or act too clingy towards her around Riley, but clearly, her mother doesn't listen.âRiley, I'm proud of you. Finishing college isn't for the faint of heart. Come hereâ Cooper said thoughtfully, surprising Brianna. He gave Riley a big hug and whispered, âThan
â NEW YORKâ âI didn't know the suites in Leister Home were so cheap,â Brianna's mother said, knowingly as they settled in their hotel room. Brianna didn't say a word. Both parents just arrived in New York for her graduation.Leister Home was the name of Frostborneâs hotels, worldwide. Derek had booked the suite for them but Andaline insisted they pay, so Derek ran them a discount though they had no idea but Brianna. It was one of New Yorkâs most exquisite hotels and Andaline thought it wouldn't be right to spend some days there and not pay for the services.âI thought it would be super expensive and outâŚâ Brianna rolled her eyes, she knew what her mother was about to say. âJust spill itâ Brianna urgedâMr Leister is so rich, don't you think?â She asked Brianna who almost rolled her eyes again. Of course, he's so rich.âI don't think, Mom. I knowâ Brianna said confidently and her mother gasped âI think he's a great guy,â her father said and nudged his daughter playfully. Brianna turned
â NEW YORKâ âSoon-to-be graduate,â Derek smiled as he called Brianna immediately as she entered the office. Brianna blushed. It was two days to Brianna's graduation. Derek signaled the previous weekend and hasn't seen her until now.He signaled her with his index finger to come closer, she walked to his table and sat down.âCome over hereâ he pointed to the space in front of him. âDon't be naughtyâ Brianna said with a smile when she realized what Derek was about to do to her.âOf course!â he smirked. Brianna smiled knowing that face, then went over anyway and stood before him, looking down at him. He wrapped his hands around her waist and she smiled at him. She loves it when he does that.âYou promised not to be naughty,â she said with a smile. Derek kissed her waistline, âI did,â he mumbled almost inaudibly. He lifted his face to look at her, âHow ready are you?â He asked. Brianna did some thinking, not sure what exactly he was asking then replied, âI think I'm fully ready,â she laugh
â NEW YORKâŚâLondonâ Riley said and Brianna choked on her pizza, coughing violently.âOh my! Are you okay?â Riley asked and handed her water. Brianna gulped and tried to calm herself down.âWhat?!! London? What London?â She asked as she dropped the cup. At that point, Riley's eyes seemed to wonder a
â MINNESOTAâŚBrianna's eyes spinned, her head felt light. This wasn't their agreement over the phone. Asking her to break up without conversing for two minutes?âItâs for the bestâ her father held some form of sadness in his eyes as he said this.Brianna noticed the sadness, âwhat's wrong with them?
NEW YORKâŚDerek thought it would be best to let Brianna have some alone time to think before having a conversation about her parents, so he sat in his living room, trying to look for excuses to pacify his father's anger who has been blowing his phone with calls. After his agreement with the Alpha,

He was still sound asleep or so she thought. Her hands could not help but touch his peaceful face as she stared at him. She touched his brows, which she just realized are perfectly li
