âI seriously don't have what to wearâ Brianna lamented the next morning as she looked through her closet. Riley walked up to her, âlet meâ she said and Brianna stepped away. Riley picked a black pants and a pepper red top for her. âWear this,â she said.
âHow did I miss it?â Brianna wondered.
âYou're nervous to resume at your dream company. There are tons of corporate outfits in your closetâ Riley points out. âOh really?â Brianna asked, Riley nodded.
âGet dressed and leave before you mess up your first day at workâ Riley said and Brianna laughed. âChill, I still have like an hour until resumptionâ she defended as she sat to have breakfast.
Her phone rang and it was her mother calling.
âYour parents?â Riley asked. âMmâ she replied with a mouthful. âJust tell them you've resumed lecturesâ Riley advised.
She declined the call and sent a message instead.
âBut you can't hide it from them for longâ Riley pointed out. âI know. I just have to be sure about this job before saying a word about it to themâ Brianna said.
She picked up her bag after breakfast, âBye, girl. Don't invite your boyfriend overâ she shouted as she walked out.
Riley laughed. âGet yourself a Frostborne boyfriend, you boreâ she shot back and they both laughed.

â Frostborne CorporationsâŚ
Brianna found her way to the customer service department, that was where she filled in her form to work in. Everyone was busy; some were answering calls, some were typing on their system, others were using the printer and photocopying machine and so on. She stood at the spot for up to three minutes before someone finally noticed her.
A guy who was almost dressed like a lady approached her.
âHey there, how may we help you?â The guy asked. Brianna cleared her throat.
âUmm, I'm a new staff member. Part-time. I was interviewed yesterdayâ she said. The guy took a good look at her, accessing her head to toe.
âNo one was asked to resume today. All part-timers start the new weekâ he said.
Brianna was confused, the mail said today. She quickly brought out her phone and showed the mail to the guy.
âI don't know, girl. HR informed me that all part-timers resume next week. I don't know how you got the mail, so I can't help youâ he said and motioned for her to leave. Brianna stood transfixed. Where was she supposed to go?
âI swear, this is an email from Frostborne,â she lamented. âThen go sort it out with the HR departmentâ The guy said and left her alone.
âO Lord, I can't have a bad first day, pleaseâ she prayed silently as she walked towards the HR department. A lady walked up to her âfollow meâ she said and walked past her.
Is everyone here so cold? She wondered as she followed behind the lady. Brianna scanned the lady and discovered she herself was poorly dressed, compared to the class this lady exuded.
âClass. Poise. Chic.â Brianna complimented her in her mind.
The lady's stiletto heels kept making clicking sounds as they walked.
Finally, she stopped at a huge door and turned to the lady that sat behind a table just beside the door. âHe's expecting herâ was the only thing the woman in stiletto said then walked away, leaving her there. âYou can go in,â the lady behind the table said, after speaking to whoever on the phone.
Brianna wondered who or what was behind those gigantic doors. She cleared her throat and attempted to push the door open, but it opened by itself, taking her unaware. She lost balance and fell. Brianna wished for the ground to swallow her instantly, rather than face whoever was inside that office.
âOops! Poor youâ Rowan exclaimed as Brianna fell.
âCome inâ Derek said, giving Rowan a warning look. âIt wasn't my fault,â Rowan whispered.
Brianna stood up and cleaned her hands on her skirt. Derek saw her do that and smiled at her clumsiness. She's indeed clumsy, he thought and somehow that entices him.
âUmm⌠sorry, I had no idea the door would open by itselfâ she said. Rowan wondered if there was a need for her to be sorry. They both kept staring at her. Her face was down, just like the previous day when she hit Derek. Then she bit her lower lip nervously. Derek wondered why she liked doing that.
âCome closerâ he called out to her. Brianna walked slowly to his table immediately.
âBrianna, huh?â He asked. âYes,â Brianna answered instantly. âHereâ he said pointing a MacBook at her. She hurriedly collected it. Then she raised her head to look at him.
âWhat isâŚâ she stopped immediately she saw the man that sat before her. Brianna couldn't stop the hiccups that rapidly escaped her throat at that point.
âThere's no way I'm standing before New York's richest, sexiest, hottest, most eligible bachelor!â she screamed in her head. Brianna closed her eyes tightly for two seconds, opened them and looked directly at where Derek was seated, to her surprise, he was still sitting there, staring at her.
She opened her mouth to say something, but words failed her, so she closed her mouth again.
Derek was confused, he thought Brianna was not one of those ladies who threw themselves at him, at the sight of him. She didn't flinch when they met yesterday, both at the lobby where she bathed him with her coffee and when he entered the interview room. How come she's suddenly acting this way? He wondered.
Rowan saw Derek's confused look and laughed inwardly. Who wouldn't react that way when facing one of the most powerful bachelors in New York City?
âItâs Derek Alec Leisterâ Brianna whispered to herself. She wasn't expecting to meet the CEO of Frostborne corporations on her first day of resumption, not even in her lifetime.
Pull yourself together, she cautioned herself.
âMmmâ she cleared her throat, âNice to meet you sirâ she said, almost stretching her hand for a handshake before realizing it. She bit her lower lips in embarrassment. This is something she does whenever she is embarrassed, nervous, speechless or confused.
That's sexy, Derek thought, looking at her lips. Brianna straightened her pants and cleared her throat.
âI mean, what do I do with thisâŚsir?â She asked in a really calm voice, referring to the MacBook given to her. âYouâre to do work with itâ Derek simply replied. Brianna nodded, even though she didn't clearly understand him. Why would a customer care representative get a MacBook from the CEO?
âBrianna, as of today you're my personal assistant. You'll work closely with meâ Derek announced. Brianna froze.
âWhat?!!!â She exclaimed after she found her voice.

â NEW YORKâ Brianna and Derek were finally having the trip to Greece. A trip was one of her graduation packages and she chose Greece since Derek suggested it once. They were on the flight and Brianna was lying down with her head placed on Derek's thighs, eyes closed.âCan't believe it took you so long to agree to come to Greece. Do you have anything against the ancient city?â Derek asked stroking her hair. She smiled, âI have nothing against Greece of course. I just wasn't ready to fly around as much,â she replied. âAnd why was that? I have a private jet, you don't have to fly with people if that's the problemâ Derek saidBrianna shook her head, âthat's not it. I just wasn't ready,â she simply said Derek nodded like he understood, he didn't want to push it, âdo you think you're ready now?â He asked again and she nodded.âVery ready,â she said.âYou should've come with me two weeks ago though, it was boring without you,â Derek saidBrianna turned to him questionably âBut you said it w
â NEW YORKâ Everyone's head turned towards the elegant woman walking with so much grace towards themâShe looks familiarâ Derek mummured, Brianna turned to him, âyou knowâŚââMom!â Riley screamed and ran to meet her. They hugged each other.âOh!â Brianna's eyes lit up.She was worried about Riley breaking down later if her mom didn't show up.âThat's her mom?â Derek whispered into Brianna's ears and she nodded.âThough this is my first time seeing her,ââReally?â Brianna nodded. âOh my God, she's a goddess! I see where Riley took all her features from,â Brianna gushed.âOh my! Did you see her smile? I might pass out, damn! She's indeed gorgeous. I used to think it's the edit doing so much to her on TV but no, the camera doesn't even do justice to her beauty! I'm soâŚâDerek tapped on her thigh to distract her.âWhat?â She asked.âYou're wetâ he said and she blushed. âDon't let my parents hear that,â she joke-threatened. Derek chuckled.âI've seen her a couple of times though, she once m
â NEW YORKâ Brianna and Riley sat close to each other at the ceremony, talking about and giggling over almost everything.Derek mounted the podium to give his valedictory speech and all the girls started blushing and smiling helplessly. Brianna rolled her eyes at their disgusting character. It was evident that they all weren't paying attention to what he was saying. Every attention was channeled to checking him out and wondering how good he would be in bed.âDo you think he would last a lifetime in bed? Looking at him makes me wet,â a female student said, eyes fixed on Derek who looked everywhere but her.Brianna's eyes widened at such shamelessness. She adjusted in her seat feeling uncomfortable.âI bet his mouth could do one thousand better things than talking. Ugh! That tongue!â another said and Brianna couldn't help but groan angrily. She thought it was ridiculous to think such things of a man you barely knew, except on paper.âThe interesting part is, he has no girlfriend. I'm tot
â NEW YORKâ The graduation ceremony was about to begin, and parents were trooping in and taking their seats.âWe're so proud of you, Briaâ Brianna's mother said, holding her hands with almost teary eyes.âI've always known that, Mom, and I appreciate you,â she turned to her father and said âboth of you,â then opened her arms for a hug.âMe tooâ her father said and they all had a family hug.âYou've done well too, Riley. I'm sure your parents are proud,â Andaline said to Riley. Brianna was about to stop her mother from saying more when Riley waved it off and smiled sweetly at Andaline âThank you so much,â she replied Brianna had earlier told her parents to try not to dwell too much on Riley's parents or ask her things about them, or act too clingy towards her around Riley, but clearly, her mother doesn't listen.âRiley, I'm proud of you. Finishing college isn't for the faint of heart. Come hereâ Cooper said thoughtfully, surprising Brianna. He gave Riley a big hug and whispered, âThan
â NEW YORKâ âI didn't know the suites in Leister Home were so cheap,â Brianna's mother said, knowingly as they settled in their hotel room. Brianna didn't say a word. Both parents just arrived in New York for her graduation.Leister Home was the name of Frostborneâs hotels, worldwide. Derek had booked the suite for them but Andaline insisted they pay, so Derek ran them a discount though they had no idea but Brianna. It was one of New Yorkâs most exquisite hotels and Andaline thought it wouldn't be right to spend some days there and not pay for the services.âI thought it would be super expensive and outâŚâ Brianna rolled her eyes, she knew what her mother was about to say. âJust spill itâ Brianna urgedâMr Leister is so rich, don't you think?â She asked Brianna who almost rolled her eyes again. Of course, he's so rich.âI don't think, Mom. I knowâ Brianna said confidently and her mother gasped âI think he's a great guy,â her father said and nudged his daughter playfully. Brianna turned
â NEW YORKâ âSoon-to-be graduate,â Derek smiled as he called Brianna immediately as she entered the office. Brianna blushed. It was two days to Brianna's graduation. Derek signaled the previous weekend and hasn't seen her until now.He signaled her with his index finger to come closer, she walked to his table and sat down.âCome over hereâ he pointed to the space in front of him. âDon't be naughtyâ Brianna said with a smile when she realized what Derek was about to do to her.âOf course!â he smirked. Brianna smiled knowing that face, then went over anyway and stood before him, looking down at him. He wrapped his hands around her waist and she smiled at him. She loves it when he does that.âYou promised not to be naughty,â she said with a smile. Derek kissed her waistline, âI did,â he mumbled almost inaudibly. He lifted his face to look at her, âHow ready are you?â He asked. Brianna did some thinking, not sure what exactly he was asking then replied, âI think I'm fully ready,â she laugh
â After workâŚâI told you no need to drop me offâ Brianna said inside Derek's car as they stoped in front of her apartment.âIt's my duty to make sure you get home safely, from now onâ Derek said âI've always come home alone. And safeâ she pointed outâWell, I wasn't here and now that I'm here, I s
âWe're hereâ Morris announced as they got to Derek's apartment. Brianna was wowed. Never has she seen such awesome structures. âAestheticâ she commented, looking around.âWelcome, ma. This way, pleaseâ an elderly not-so-old lady said to her.âMy name is Brianna,â Brianna said with a smile.âYou're
â NEW YORKâŚDerek was back to New York. His little break at Frostborne wasn't so nice. Every thought was about Brianna, his reason for taking a break and his father would not shut up about him getting married. He sunk into his chair and sighed. His eyes moved to the cushion where Brianna usually sea
