Chapter 53

(Rian’s P.O.V)

It was the day of the funerals for our warriors and for King Leonard, it was decided that Leonard’s body would be the last pyre lit. While a King’s pyre should always be lit first, as a symbol of him guiding his warriors to Annwn (or the Underworld), however, his family agreed that Leonard would want his warriors and those who fought alongside his warriors, to have the honored spot.

“It’s time to go mo grà,” I whisper to Morrigan.

She’s been quiet this morning, just going through the motions of the day. I know that her dream meeting with her biological parents and Leonard helped with how she had been feeling about the whole situation. She looks beautiful in her black, long, full-sleeved jumpsuit with a medium plunge, and a belt cinching her waist. Her beautiful fiery hair was pulled up into a sophisticated bun, leaving a few wisps of hair surrounding her face. Her make-up was done in neutral tones, and she kept it simple. Her black stilettos fi
