Sienna POV

Why did a man who just dismantled three massive athletes with pure violence feel like the safest place on earth? The absolute shock of Dante's warm hand wrapping protectively around mine completely paralyzed my racing thoughts. He guided me down the concrete stairs and straight past my seething ex-boyfriend without breaking his confident stride.

I kept my eyes firmly fixed on the broad span of his dark shoulders to avoid looking back at Roman. The heavy steel exit doors swung open, blasting us instantly with the freezing midnight air. Dante did not let go of my hand as we walked into the dark, empty parking lot.

His palm was incredibly warm against my freezing skin, completely contrasting the icy exterior he presented to the world. We walked quickly across the frosted asphalt toward a sleek, entirely black sports car parked alone under a flickering streetlamp. The luxury vehicle looked exactly like him—dark, dangerous, and completely out of place at a simple university.

Dante reached out and pulled the heavy passenger door open for me. He waited silently for me to climb inside before shutting the door firmly against the biting wind. The thick glass completely muted the outside world, trapping me in a quiet sanctuary filled with the rich scent of leather and his dark coffee cologne.

He walked around the hood of the car, his athletic frame moving with that same predatory grace I saw on the ice. He opened the driver door and slid into the low seat, instantly filling the enclosed space with his overwhelming physical presence. He pressed a silver button on the center console, and the powerful engine roared to life with a deep, vibrating purr.

"You are shivering," he noted quietly, turning the heat up to maximum blast. Hot air rushed through the vents, slowly melting the physical ice from my frozen bones. I wrapped my arms tightly around my chest, suddenly feeling incredibly exposed under his intense, pale gaze.

"Why did you do that?" I asked, my voice barely above a ragged whisper in the quiet cabin. I looked at his large hands resting casually on the leather steering wheel. Those same hands had just pinned a champion athlete against a concrete wall to save my life.

Dante shifted the car into gear, his jaw tightening slightly under the dim dashboard lights. "I do not tolerate men who use their physical size to intimidate people much smaller than them. He needed a violent reminder of exactly where he stands on the food chain."

"But you do not even know me," I pressed frantically, desperately needing to understand his sudden loyalty. "Roman runs this entire campus and destroys anyone who crosses him. You just painted a massive target on your own back just to pull me out of the bleachers."

Dante pulled the car smoothly out of the parking lot and onto the dark, deserted campus roads. The streetlamps flickered rapidly overhead, casting moving shadows across his sharp facial features. He drove with one hand draped lazily over the wheel, projecting a terrifying amount of calm for a man who just started a major war.

"Roman is a coward who pays other people to fight his battles in the dark," Dante stated firmly. "He is absolutely nothing to me, Sienna. The target on my back means nothing if he lacks the actual courage to pull the trigger himself."

I stared out the passenger window, watching the dark campus buildings blur past us into the freezing night. The absolute finality of what I just did settled heavily into the pit of my stomach like a solid brick of lead. I just publicly humiliated a vindictive narcissist who held the entire financial safety of my family directly in his hands.

Roman promised to ruin my sick father and expose our darkest corporate secrets if I ever betrayed him. I had traded my family's security for ten minutes of desperate, chaotic bravery in the upper bleachers. The crippling anxiety of tomorrow morning threatened to completely suffocate me right there in the passenger seat.

"You are overthinking," Dante observed, his eyes never leaving the empty road ahead of us. "I can practically hear your pulse racing from across the wide console. Breathe, Sienna."

"You have absolutely no idea what I just lost by walking away from him tonight," I whispered miserably, curling my knees toward my chest. "He is going to destroy everything I care about tomorrow morning."

"He will not touch a single thing in your life," Dante replied with absolute, terrifying certainty. "I am going to completely dismantle his entire world before the sun rises tomorrow."

I looked at him in pure shock, entirely unable to comprehend the sheer magnitude of his dark promises. He spoke about destroying a powerful champion athlete as if it were a simple, tedious errand he needed to run. I realized then that Dante was operating on a completely different level of power than anyone I had ever met.

We drove in absolute silence for several long blocks, moving much further away from the traumatic events at the arena. The heated seat warmed my frozen muscles, but it could not stop the violent, uncontrollable tremors shaking my entire frame. The massive adrenaline crash finally hit my system, leaving me completely hollow and utterly exhausted.

A fresh wave of tears suddenly spilled over my eyelashes and burned hot paths down my cold cheeks. I reached up quickly to wipe them away, hating how completely fragile I appeared in front of him. I wanted to be strong and defiant, but my raw trauma was bleeding out into the open air of his expensive car.

Dante noticed my movement immediately and pulled the heavy vehicle sharply onto the shoulder of the empty road. He threw the transmission into park and turned his massive frame completely toward my seat. He did not ask me to stop crying or offer empty platitudes like most people would.

He reached across the wide center console and gently caught my chin with his warm fingers. He tilted my face up toward the pale moonlight filtering through the windshield, forcing me to meet his intense gaze. His touch was incredibly soft, completely contradicting the lethal violence I knew he was entirely capable of unleashing.

"Look at me," Dante commanded quietly, his deep voice wrapping around my shattered nerves like a heavy, protective blanket. I swallowed hard and opened my eyes, meeting his dark, freezing stare. The sudden proximity stole the remaining breath directly from my lungs.

The heavy metallic click of the car doors automatically locking echoed loudly in the silent cabin. He completely sealed us inside his luxury sanctuary, entirely blocking out the vicious world waiting outside the thick glass. Dante let his thumb brush slowly across my damp cheek, wiping away a stray tear with agonizing care.

"Why do you let Roman treat you like absolute garbage?" he asked, his voice dropping into a dangerous, heart-stopping whisper.

Dante POVNever demand a bleeding survivor to explain their fresh wounds before you have completely secured the perimeter. That was a basic rule of tactical interrogation I learned entirely too late. I watched her beautiful eyes widen with pure, unadulterated panic the second I asked her about her painful trauma. She pulled completely away from my gentle grip and pressed her back aggressively against the passenger window. She could not handle the sudden intimacy or the terrifying reality of exposing her deepest secrets to a new stranger. She looked at me like I had just transformed back into the dangerous monster she saw on the ice."Just take me home," she whispered desperately, staring blindly at the dark dashboard of my car. "Please, Dante, just drive me to my house right now and let me sleep."I did not push her any further or demand the answers I was technically owed for saving her life tonight. I simply unlocked the heavy doors, shifted the sports car back into drive, and pulle

Dante POVSeeing Roman storm toward Sienna like a rabid animal triggered a lethal instinct deep inside my chest. He was taking the concrete steps two at a time, entirely consumed by a violent narcissistic rage that demanded immediate blood. I did not even bother finding the bench door to exit the rink properly.I gained massive speed on the freezing ice and launched my heavy frame entirely upward. I grabbed the top edge of the thick plexiglass and vaulted violently over the tall barrier with absolute athletic precision. My heavy carbon skates crashed down brutally onto the thick rubber mats covering the concrete floor, sending a loud echo through the silent arena.Roman was completely blinded by his own wounded pride to hear me land heavily right behind him. He continued his aggressive, stomping march up the narrow stairwell toward the terrified girl trapped in the bleachers. Sienna tripped over the cold metal seats in her frantic attempt to escape his incoming reach, scraping her han

I was supposed to go home and lock my doors exactly as Dante instructed. I was supposed to hide under my heavy blankets and pretend the monsters in my life did not exist. But trauma does not allow you to simply walk away when you know someone is about to bleed because of your actions.I had run all the way to the arena, slipping quietly into the dark upper bleachers just as the violent ambush began. I watched the entire brutal confrontation unfold from the freezing shadows. I watched Dante completely dismantle the strongest enforcers on our campus without breaking a single sweat. The entire arena went completely dead silent at the impossible, spectacular shot. The explosive sound of the plastic water bottle shattering echoed endlessly through the freezing metal rafters. A mist of cold water rained down over the white mesh of the goal net.Dante stood perfectly still on the ice, pointing his composite stick directly at Roman. I pressed my trembling hands tightly over my mouth to stifle

"Crush his knees right now before he can even turn around!" I screamed, slamming my heavy fists directly against the thick plexiglass. The violent sound of heavy skates slicing the ice echoed loudly as my trap completely sprang. Marcus and two other massive defenders barreled toward Dante's blind spot with absolute murderous intent. I leaned closer to the glass, my heart hammering with sick anticipation as I waited for the brutal sound of shattering bone. This was the exact moment I lived for. I needed to see this arrogant transfer student broken and bleeding on my ice. I needed Sienna to realize that absolutely nobody could protect her from my reach. But Dante did not freeze, and he did not turn around to brace for the heavy impact. A fraction of a second before they collided, Dante shifted his entire center of gravity. He dug his left blade sharply into the freezing surface and spun out of the trap with terrifying speed. The three defenders had far too much forward momentum to stop

Dante POV"Please do not do this for me."Her gasp was loud in the suffocating silence of the library aisle. The sweet scent of her vanilla perfume lingered heavily as she pulled back to look at me. Her dark eyes were entirely wide with pure terror.I stared down into her panicked face, searching for any trace of the spoiled corporate heiress my father promised I would find. I found absolutely nothing but genuine fear. She was not a willing participant in whatever sick game Roman was playing. She was a hostage, entirely trapped by a violent narcissist who used her as bait. The realization hit me squarely in the chest, completely altering my ruthless perspective of her. Vincenzo told me to break her heart to secure her family proxy.I suddenly wanted to break every single bone in Roman's body instead. I stepped back, giving her the physical space she desperately needed to breathe. "I am not doing this for you," I lied smoothly to calm her erratic pulse."I am doing this because nobody
