Watching Bill and Ivy enter the elevator, Matilda finally realized.

Perhaps it was because she was there that Bill rejected Justin.

Matilda felt extremely guilty. She said to Justin, "I'm sorry, Mr. Long! If you didn't bring me along, perhaps-"

Justin said boastfully, "It's not your fault. How would Chad have any medical skills? He'll never be able to treat Mr. Hawthorne! I believe Bill will return and beg me!"
