Chapter 14 Meeting Lilian for the First Time

Chris parked the car at the hospital entrance. He wanted to open the car door for Jean but then saw that she had left the car. She quickly disappeared into the hospital.

Her behavior was different from yesterday. She seemed to have accepted her fate. Chris admired her ability to adapt to the situation.

Jean entered the hospital and took the elevator. He rushed after her and helped to press the button for the floor Lilian's room was on.

Jean's expression never changed for the entire journey up. She left the elevator as soon as they arrived on the floor.

She immediately saw two bodyguards standing outside Lilian Page's room. The other rooms on the floor seemed empty. She then realized that Tyler had hired the medical staff from the entire floor to take care of Lilian.

"Ms. Michaels, please come with me." A nurse immediately went up to Jean. She led her to the same room as yesterday.

Jean lay down and extended her left arm in cooperation. She explained, "There's a bruise on my right arm. Please use my left arm."

The nurse was surprised but went to work right away. The cold sensation of the needle tip mirrored how Jean felt on the inside.

Half an hour later, the nurse removed the needle from Jean's arm. Jean's eyes traveled to the bag of blood collected. She asked, "Is that enough?"

The nurse was caught off guard by the question. She replied sheepishly, "Ms. Michaels, you just donated blood yesterday. Your health will suffer if we draw too much blood today. Why don't you rest and recover? Come in again next week."

Jean frowned but didn't say anything. She pressed a ball of cotton against the wound and left the room. Suddenly, she almost stumbled and fell due to a dizzy spell.

Seeing that, Chris quickly held her. "Madam, are you alright?"

Jean gasped and rested a hand on Chris' arm. "I feel a bit dizzy."

Chris frowned with concern and suggested, "You should take a rest."

Even the average person would feel discomfort after donating blood. Jean had donated blood yesterday, but she came in again today. It must have been worse for her.

She shook her head. "No, I need to leave. This place is disgusting."

The sight of the entire floor disgusted her. Chris was baffled by her remark. She took his hand and wanted to head to the elevator.

At that moment, the door to Lilian's room opened. Tyler exited the room and saw Chris holding onto Jean near the elevator lobby. Jean was leaning on Chris for support.

Tyler didn't like what he saw. Lilian was right behind him, and she looked confused when Tyler stopped at the door.

"Tyler, what's wrong?" she asked softly. She was curious and followed his line of sight. She saw Chris supporting an attractive and voluptuous young lady. It was a surprising sight. She called out to Jean, "Ms. Michaels?"

Jean stiffened upon hearing that. She turned around and saw a sickly but gentle woman standing beside Tyler.

The woman was curious and keen. After a pause, the woman mused, "Ms. Michaels, are you dating Chris?"

Chris was embarrassed by the question. Jean slowly removed her hand from Chris' arm and shifted her attention to Lilian with an amused look in her eyes.

Tyler had indeed shielded the woman well. At that time, Jean didn't know Lilian's name yet. If she recalled correctly, Dorothy never gave her any information about the woman.

Jean looked at Tyler and asked Lilian vengefully, "Oh, did he not tell you?"

Lilian paused and bit her lips. She cautiously asked Tyler, "Tyler, what does she mean?"
