When they arrived at the Green Group underground parking lot, Rain parked beside Daniel’s car. Ursula smiled at Rain and said, “Please stay in the car, my sweet Rain. I won’t be long.”

Rain got out of the car and helped her. Ursula hugged her tightly for a long time. Then she walked towards the lifts.

Something told her to record their conversation. Then she took her phone from her designer handbag and pressed the record button.

When Ursula arrived at her husband’s office, she couldn’t believe her eyes. A half-naked woman was sitting on her husband’s lap.

A rage of anger arose in Ursula’s heart, and she rushed towards them and threw an insulated lunch bag at them. She screamed, “Daniel, how can you betray me like this?”

Daniel protected his mistress behind him, then he pushed his wife hard. Ursula lost her balance and fell heavily on the floor.

Daniel looked at his wife coldly and replied, “Stop being unreasonable, Ursula. Who do you think you are?

Can you compare yourself to the love of my life, Patricia?  Listen carefully, I have never loved you. You are nothing but a walking ATM to me.”

Ursula was so shocked that her mind went blank. Daniel never told her that he had the first love. Tears were streaming down her face. She was in so much pain and said, “Daniel, please save our babies. Please take me to the hospital.”

A hint of irritation was evident in Daniel’s voice, and he replied, “Stop pretending, Ursula. I didn’t even push you hard.”

However, when Daniel saw that his wife was bleeding, he started panicking. He rushed to her side to pick her up.

At that moment, Patricia took the big steel paper punch from Daniel’s desk and hit Ursula hard on the head. Ursula looked at Daniel with deep hatred in her eyes, then she fainted.

Daniel slapped Patricia hard across the face and asked, “Who gave you the authority to lay your filthy hands on my wife, Patricia?”

Patricia wiped her fake tears and replied, “I was defending myself, Daniel. Ursula attacked me first. I was protecting my child in my belly.”

Daniel looked at her with a confused expression and asked, “What are you talking about, Patricia?”

A faint smile appeared on Patricia’s face, and she replied, “I am two months pregnant, Dan.” Daniel was so shocked and asked, “How did you become pregnant when we were using protection, Patricia?”

Patricia didn’t know how to respond because she was lying through her teeth. Daniel looked at his wife, who was bleeding heavily, then he took his phone to call the ambulance.

However, Patricia stopped him and asked, “Daniel, do you think the Morgan family will let you off when they find out that you hurt their daughter?

Daniel, please don’t make hasty decisions. Let’s leave Ursula here for now, then we will send her to the hospital later after we think things through.”

Daniel was panicking, and he wasn’t thinking straight. The Morgan family would skin him alive for hurting their beloved daughter. It was clear that Ursula had lost the babies because she was bleeding heavily.

Daniel nodded his head, then she took Patricia’s hand, and they left Ursula on the floor. Daniel told his secretary not to open his office, no matter what. Then they left quickly as if something was chasing after them. He didn't even see Rain's car, which was parked beside his car.

Rain couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Daniel with another woman getting in the car. An uneasy feeling overwhelmed her.

She got out of the car and ran to the lifts. When she arrived at Daniel’s office, she tried to open the door, but the office was locked.

Rain rushed to Daniel’s secretary and asked him to open Daniel’s office, but he refused. Rain was so angry that she cried. She started threatening the secretary until he opened his boss’s office.

Rain nearly had a heart attack when she saw her best friend lying on the floor covered with blood. It was as if she were dead. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that she was still breathing.

She quickly called the ambulance, then she called Ursula’s brother, Kingston, and asked him to meet them in the hospital. Then she called Daniel’s mother and told her briefly what had happened, then she asked her to meet them in the hospital.

Ten minutes later, the paramedics walked to Daniel’s office with a stretcher. They performed the first aid, then they took Ursula away. Rain was crying softly, holding her best friend’s hand.

When they arrived at the hospital, Ursula was rushed to the emergency room. Rain wanted to accompany her friend, but the doctor stopped her.

She went to the waiting room, praying silently for her best friend to be saved. She took Ursula’s phone to look for any clues and saw the recording. Then she started listening.

The Morgan family and the Green family found Rain in the waiting room, crying. They were so scared when they saw that her clothes were covered with blood. They thought they were involved in a car accident.

Kingston hugged her tightly and asked, “Are you hurt, Rain?” She shook her head and replied, “This is not my blood, Kingston. Daniel and his lover beat up Ursula, then they locked her in the office and left her lying on the floor bleeding.”

They were so shocked that Ursula’s mother started sobbing. Daniel’s mother looked at Rain viciously and said, “You are spouting nonsense, Rain. My son will never cheat on my daughter-in-law. Please tell us what really happened.”

Rain was so angry that she started playing the voice recording. Kingston’s face darkened, and he asked, “Mrs Green, do you know anything about your beloved son’s first love?”

Mrs Green was so embarrassed. How could Daniel humiliate them like that? She wished the ground could open up and swallow her. Tears welled in her eyes, and she replied, “Daniel dated Patricia Sullivan before she met my daughter-in-law.

Patricia dumped him and married a wealthy man, then they went abroad. I didn’t even know that she was back in the country.”

Kingston took his phone and called the police. Then he called his lawyer, Samantha Mitchell. He sent her the voice recording, then he asked her to press charges against Daniel Green and Patricia Sullivan.

He also called his best friend, Harvey Stanton, and informed him about Ursula's injury. Harvey was attending the board meeting at that time. However, when he heard that Ursula was injured, he cancelled the meeting and rushed to the hospital.

A few minutes later, two police officers approached the Morgan family. Kingston explained briefly what had happened to his sister and asked them to arrest Daniel and his mistress.

At that moment, Daniel and his mistress were at His Wings restaurant eating. Patricia was bouncing with joy that Daniel chose her over his wife.

An hour later, a nurse approached Rain and said, “Dr Stanton, Mrs Green is asking to see you.” Rain rushed to the emergency room.

She murmured, her voice almost lost to the wind, “I thought I would be happy.I thought hearing she was gone would feel like a victory. But there is no ripple in my heart, Maddox. There is no satisfaction. The hate was so loud for so long that I thought its absence would be beautiful.
