ALEXII finished writing and pushed the list to the big, blonde Alpha with the long hair. I frown at the thought that these people were my friends and they lied to me my whole life. My father was the monster. Not the Alphas. That doesn't mean that the Alliance is innocent. There's much they need to pay for, but maybe they can pay in a different way.I look across the room and Luke is leaning in a corner with his arms crossed. He smiles and nods and I give him a half smile back. I may not have liked his approach, but he showed me what I needed to see. He told me the truth, which apparently nobody has ever done before.I have a lot to process, but I hope in time I find that girl I was before all this started."Ok. Thank you, Alexi." The big Alpha says."You're welcome." I say meekly."Now. You'll have to wear the collar until you testify." He folds his hands over the paperLuke pushes off the wall to the table leaning on it. "Testify? What do you mean testify?""She has to testify when
LUKEWe buried my father a few days later in a private family ceremony in the woods behind the pack house. After the funeral, Bobby held a small press conference outside the house.I told my people that my father passed away and that as me as their official Alpha, I promised to make their home safe. After, I walk slowly up the stairs. I want to scream and punch things. I want to destroy and dismember, but I also just want to lay in Alexi's arms and cry. I'm not ready to be alone as a son. With my dad being so old, I felt I just didn't get enough time with him. Being a shifter, you take time for granted. Any one of us could still die at any moment. Now, I'm Alpha. In charge of people's lives. They'll look to me for all the decisions and I just hope I make the right ones.My wolf wants to bug out. Leave. Run. Only because he's hurt and struggling. Dealing with everything that's happened. But I can't run. Not now. I need Alexi.Walk slowly down the hall to Alexi's room and open the door.
LUKEI knew something was wrong. I could feel it in my gut. Then I heard Alexi whimper and someone talking to her. When I saw Gerome pushing on Alexi in the girl's washroom, I fucking lost it. My wolf surfaced and he saw red. All I wanted to do was rip him to pieces for even thinking of trying that with her.As cousins, we were friends, but not anymore. He steps foot anywhere near me or Alexi, I'll rip his head off. When I saw how powerless Alexi was, I felt angry. She shouldn't be so powerless. I know her collar suppresses her wolf, but her human side should still be able to hold her own. After the incident, Alexi refused to come out of her room. So, I've been staying with her every day and night until she'd fall asleep for a week now. But tonight? No. This shit ends now. After Alexi fell asleep in my arms, I snuck out and went downstairs.Gavin, Terry, Bobby and Lucy were all sitting in the common room.Lucy was sitting on the couch, legs crossed, playing on her phone.Gavin was sit
LUKEI woke up to sun beaming on my face. I rolled to my back and opened one eye. The sun was certainly brighter today. I blink my eyes to adjust to light.I was feeling fan-fucking-tastic. I was out almost instantly. I slept even better than the first night with Alexi.Speaking of my sexy red head.I reach my arm out and the bed is cold. I raise my head and look at the spot Alexi is supposed to be in. She's not there. I look around the room and call out to the bathroom. "Alexi?"No answer. I sit up. She wouldn't. I pull the sheets off and pull on my jeans. I swing the door to the room open and rush into the hallway.I'm practically running down the stairs and find Gavin on his phone with a coffee on the couch."Hey, you seen Alexi?" I ask. I'm breathless and in a panic.Gavin chuckles at the sight of my worried face. "Yeah, dude. She's out back in the garden."I breathe a sigh of relief. Leaning back. "Thanks."I step to the back of the house. Past the game room and the training room
ALEXI Training with Luke is so therapeutic. I feel more at home here as the days go by. It also helps that since I have proved I can hold my own, the relationships with the others in the house seemed to have improved. I don't feel like such an outcast. Though, I do try to not bring up my father around them as much as possible. I've gotten close to some. Like Evan, for instance. I've almost taken him under my wing sort of speak since Luke seems to want to shield him from the world. He idolizes Luke, I found out. He wants to be like him, but Luke's always so busy, he never gets time with him. "Well, that won't do at all." I say to Evan. After he completed his errands for the morning. He shrugs. "The Alpha has a lot on his plate. I learn what I can. Eventually, I'll get to a spot where I'm part of it more." He smiled. "What about sparring?" I ask. "Luke loves to spar. You could train with him. That'll break the ice." Evan smiles. "I train, but I'm not allowed to spar with the guys.
LUKEIt's all fun and games before life gets in the way.I had almost forgot why Alexi was even here. To protect her from the Dragons before the trial. In order to prepare, we had to have a meeting. We waited on Bastian to show up at the packhouse.Alexi paced back and forth, chewing on her fingernail.I'm sitting at the large conference table. My eyes following her. "Alexi, sit.""I can't. I'm too nervous." She paces more."It'll be fine. We're just going over the game plan for the trial." I lean on the table."I know. I have to testify against my friends, Luke. This isn't sitting well in my stomach." She holds herself as she paces.I walk around the table and stop her in her tracks. "I know its shit, but it's a condition of your freedom. Once your cleared, my pack won't have anything to say about you. It's what we want, isn't it?""Yes, but it still hurts. I grew up with most of these people, Luke." She looks at me with worry in her eyes."I know, baby. Just try to calm down. We are
LUKEI scream into the night as I stare at the driveway entrance. I'm still on my knees with my arms flopped to my sides. What I tried to prevent, happened anyway. I couldn't protect Alexi. Now, she's in the hands of the Dragons. If I don't get her back soon, they're going to break her and I could lose her for good.Bobby walked up to me as I continued to stare at the road. "We'll get her back, but we're gonna need help. Those guys didn't look Lycan." He looked down on me.Not breaking my gaze from the road, I rise slowly to my feet. "No. They were Dragons.""Who was that guy?" He put his hands in his pockets."Torrent's First Commander and Alexis ex-lover. He's getting the Dragons back together and by the sounds of it, he's making Alexi his Luna." I turn my head to him. "I've got to get her back. This is could ruin her."Bobby nods. "We will, but like I said. We'll need help."I realize that if we're going to save Alexi, I can't let the alliance know she's in the hands of the Dragons
ALEXIWe drove for hours. No one would tell me where we were going. Nash just went on about how our rule will be great.I wasn't listening as I watch the scenery past the window. My eyes go wide. I recognize this road.I haven't been here in over a year.I sit up in my seat looking out the car window. "I'm home." My eyes wander all over."Yes, you are princess. Welcome home." I turn to Nash beside me. He's grinning.I don't know what to think. I missed home, but now that I know the secrets it possessed, it's bittersweet. We slowly enter the outskirts of the grand city my father ruled over.Homes black. Boarded. Falling apart. Children once played in these streets. Now they're reduced to rubble. Results of a war between the Dragons and the Alliance.I put my hand on the window. My people did not deserve the punishment they received for my father's greed."Hundreds died. Many more escaped with barely their lives." Nash says solemnly. "But with us as rulers we will rebuild everything.""
