Chapter 4

ELARA'S POV 

I cursed under my breath when I saw my ex-boyfriend, Adrian, with his girlfriend, Selene, entering the FREX hotel. 

The hotel is owned by my family. 

Did they really choose my hotel to do their nonsense? 

I froze the moment they stepped inside. 

Through my blazing eyes, I watched their every move. 

It was only eight in the morning, and already my day felt ruined because of what I’d witnessed.

 Adrian knew we owned this place!!

it’s my hotel, for crying out loud!

 What a shameless jerk. When they got their key, Selene snaked her arm around Adrian’s. 

I winced, feeling a wave of disgust. Honestly, I didn’t care anymore. 

What’s done is done, and not like I can undo the past or travel back to where it all began. 

All I could do was move on, and I was doing a damn good job of it.

Once those two were out of sight, I stormed inside.

 We had a meeting about our new project, and my dad, Damian, had mentioned there was a new board of directors member. 

This new person apparently owned nearly a third of our profits, which could mean expanding with another hotel, here or abroad, especially if they were good at handling business. 

It would benefit the company tremendously. As the acting CEO, I was in charge, but Dad still held the Board Chair position. 

I never wanted this role, but being the only heiress left me with no choice.

When I got to the meeting room, I greeted Dad with a kiss on his cheek.

 Everyone was present, except for one empty seat reserved for the new board member.

“Oh, my sweet daughter, you’re early. I was expecting you to show up when the meeting was almost done,” Dad said, his tone teasing. 

The room was filled with laughter, as if he’d told a hilarious joke. 

He knew me too well I guess. 

“ People change, Dad,” I said, taking my seat. 

“I’m curious about our new board member. 

This won’t take long, right?”

“ Always the impatient, Elara,” Dad chuckled.

 “You might like the new director….he’s young and handsome.. you kno. Way better than Adrian.” 

I shot him a lazy glance. It was time to drop the news. 

“We’re over,” I said, composing myself and sitting up straight. 

“Adrian and I broke up.”

Dad’s face lit up with excitement, as if he had been waiting to hear this. 

“Great!!. I told you he’s no good for you. That scumbag’s a man-whore.” I raised an eyebrow, curious.

 “How did you know that dad?” He shrugged casually. 

“Caught him kissing some brown-haired girl in his car a few days ago, right after you said you two were official. That was Selene, by the way. I never liked him, but you were so head-over-heels, I didn’t want to hurt you.” My eyes widened. 

“What the ... .why didn’t you tell me sooner? He’s been cheating on me for years?” I was furious, but at the same time, a wave of relief washed over me.

 Breaking things off with Adrian was one of the best decisions I’d ever made.

That piece of shit, I muttered under my breath.

“I didn’t want to hurt you,” Dad said.

 “You’re not a kid anymore. I knew you’d figure it out.”

I rolled my eyes. “When do you plan to get married, Ms. Dela Vega?” Seraphine asked, catching me off guard.

I forced a polite smile. “It’s not on my list yet, Ma’am.”

“Why not? You’re beautiful, one of the top professionals in the country. Don’t you think it’s time to settle down?” she pressed.

I winced but kept my smile in place. I was fresh off a breakup, and now someone was asking about marriage out of nowhere? 

“I always tell her that, Sera,” Dad chimed in. 

“But my daughter has no plans to marry yet. Sometimes I think about arranging a marriage, but I respect her decisions. I can’t force her to marry someone she doesn’t love. That said, I’d love some grandchildren.” 

I opened my mouth to protest, but the door swung open, stealing everyone’s attention. 

A man in a suit walked in, and my heart skipped a beat when I recognized him.

It was Kael. He greeted everyone with a charming “good morning” and strode to his seat, pulling out the chair directly across from me.

 “Sorry for being late, Sir,” he said to Dad, who just smiled warmly.

Was he the new board member? Was this fate or just a cruel coincidence? I squinted at him, my mind racing. 

“Before we start, Kael, I’d like you to meet my daughter, Elara Dela Vega,” Dad said.

Kael extended his hand, and I reluctantly shook it.

 “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Elara,” he said, a slight smirk tugging at his lips.

I gave him a strained smile. “My hand,” I said pointedly, as he held on a little too long, with everyone’s eyes on us.

Kael’s smirk widened, and he tightened his grip briefly before letting go.

 “My bad,” he said, that tricky smile still plastered on his face.

Damn you!! Kael, I cursed silently.

“It seems you like my daughter, Mr. Beaumont,” Dad said, amused.

“Of course, Mr. Dela Vega. She’s lovely,” Kael replied smoothly.

“Well she’s single,” Dad added, grinning.

 “You could take her out for lunch after this. Or maybe dinner.”

“Dad!!” I yelped.

 “Can we just start the meeting?” Dad laughed. 

“Oh, sure.” 

During the meeting, I couldn’t focus.

 Kael kept kicking my foot under the table, teasing me. No one noticed, they were too focused on the speaker, but I lost count of how many times I kicked or stomped on his foot.

 He winced each time, and I smirked to myself. Serves you right. We were in a professional meeting, and this guy was acting like a horny teenager. 

When the meeting finally ended, I grabbed my things and rushed for the elevator, only for Kael to follow me inside. 

He stood behind me. As the doors closed, his hand brushed my back, then went down, grazing my thigh and lifting my skirt slightly. 

His fingers found their way to sensitive places, sending a shiver through me.

His hand continued its exploration, and I bit my lip to stifle a moan. When the elevator stopped, I practically ran out, heading for my car. 

Halfway there, Dad’s voice stopped me.

“Elara!” he called. I turned to see him and Kael approaching.

 “It’d be nice if you went to lunch with Kael. Leave your car here I’ll have someone take it to your condo.” I rolled my eyes. 

Dad was unbelievable, still playing matchmaker. If only you knew, Kael’s just as bad as Adrian. 

He’s not into commitment either.

 “Sure, Sir,” Kael said, clearly enjoying this. 

“Good, enjoy,” Dad said cheerfully, kissing my forehead before walking off.

“So…” Kael started, stepping closer.

 “Your dad likes me, huh?” I rolled my eyes again.

 “ Stop dreaming please. Where’s your car?”

Kael pressed his car’s remote, and its lights flashed. He opened the passenger door for me, then slid into the driver’s seat. 

“So, where are you taking me for lunch?” I asked, crossing my arms.

Kael pressed a button, and the car windows darkened.

 I couldn’t help but be impressed by the tech. No wonder he’s filthy rich.

“Don’t tell me you’re planning….. to do it here?” I asked, half-laughing.

“Why not?” he said, pulling me close. 

“You’re sexy, Elara. I’ve been holding back since I saw you in that meeting room.”

 He lifted me and placed me on his lap. I parted my legs, and he kissed my neck, his hands roaming my back and thighs.

 I couldn’t hold back a moan.

His lips found mine, and we shared a heated kiss. 

 He removed my blouse and unbuckled my bra, his lips and tongue teasing my skin.

 I gripped his hair, losing myself in the moment. He unzipped his pants, and I lifted my skirt, removing my underwear.

 His arousal was evident, and I took him in my hand, stroking slowly at first, then faster. 

Kael groaned, leaning back, his hands in my hair as I took him further.

“Damn,” he cursed, his voice rough with pleasure.

With one swift move, our bodies collided, and we moved together wild. 

I rode him, our rhythm syncing as he kneaded my skin.

 We reached the peak togeth

er, my body started arching as waves of pleasure came over us.

Panting, I fell on him, catching my breath. Then I smiled, still in disbelief that we’d done something so daring in his car.
