Chapter Five: Emmett & Amanda

After almost an hour, Amanda finally joins her future husband at the patio for their tea time.

"Tell me more about your parents, darling. How did they meet? How did they fall in love with each other? And how they are as parents?" Amanda curiously bombarded Emmett with questions.

"Based on what my mother told me, they met during their Freshmen year at Wyndham College. They became College Sweethearts. Right after graduating from College, they've decided to get married. My mother had me when she was twenty-five years old." Emmett started retelling his parents' love story.

"Did you have a lonely childhood while growing up as an only child in the family?" Amanda asked him another question.

"As a kid, I sometimes feel lonely growing up alone. I usually look at some of my friends who got their own brothers and sisters and I wished that I have my own as well. But as I was growing up, I'm not thinking about it anymore..." Emmett stated, while shrugging his shoulders.

"Oh, I felt the same way, too. But while growing up, I've realized that I'm very lucky because I was able to receive my parents' love, one hundred and one percent..." Amanda relayed.

"You've got a point there... By the way, it's such a beautiful afternoon, would you like to go on a tour with me around Walnut Creek? I can show you all my favorite places here while I was growing up." Emmett suddenly changes the topic, to lighten up the mood.

"That sounds like a great idea! I'd love to go around Walnut Creek with you." Amanda readily agrees.

"Alright. Let's go then." Emmett smilingly announces.

Emmett and Ananda stood up and they lovingly clasped their hands while going to the parking lot where his car was parked.

After a few moments, they are now driving away from the Albreicht Estate, to go around Walnut Creek...

=============================

Emmett felt a sudden rush of nostalgia as he enters the old restaurant that hee used to eat out with her friends during his highschool days. He realized that nothing has changed in this place. The owner of the restaurant maintained the old-school atmosphere, and he feels like he's going back to the past.

He glaces over at the corner side of the restaurant, where he usually sit and eat with his friends, while having an enjoyable chat and just fooling around.

"This must be your favorite place, huh?"

Emmett snaps out from his reverie when he heard his fiancée's voice.

"Yes. This is definitely my favorite place here at Walnut Creek. I made wonderful memories at this place with my highschool friends before I went to the big city to study at Wyndham College." he smilingly responded.

"Well, it shows on your face. Your face suddenly brightened up as soon as we enter the restaurant." Amanda said in return.

Emmett was about to say something, but he wasn't able to do so when he heard someone calling his name.

"Emmett, is that you?"

Emmett lets out a big smile when he saw "Big Bill" a middle-aged man who's the owner of this restaurant.

"Yes, Big Bill! How have you been?" he excitedly greets him.

"Oh my goodness! Look at you now. You've become a very fine and dignified man. I'm happy to see you back at Walnut Creek." Big Bill happily welcomed him back.

"I missed this place, Big Bill. By the way, I want you to meet a very important person in my life. I want you to meet my soon-to-be wife, Mara." he excitedly and proudly introduces his

fiancée to Big Bill.

"Oh, wow! From being a rowdy and naughty high schooler, you're now getting married! It's such a pleasure to meet you, Amanda. And by the way, it's not yet too late to change your mind about getting married with Emmett." Big Bill jokes around, while giving Amanda a playful wink.

Amanda aughed in return. She is so touched because it was obvious that Big Bill is genuinely and pleasantly surprised about their engagement.

"I'm glad to meet you as well, Big Bill. I would love to hear more about Emmett's past, then afterwards, I would decide if I'm still going to marry him or not." Amanda teases Emmett as well.

"Oh, I've got lots of stories to tell you about him, so you'd better brace yourself. Emmett, both of you can take a seat at your favorite table while I prepare your favorite food. I'll join you lovebirds in a minute." Big Bill instructed them. Then afterwards, he went to the kitchen to cook.

"Well, that's Big Bill for you. He loves to talk, and he can talk all night long..." Emmett enunciated, while rolling his eyes heavenward.

"I actually like him already. And I can't wait to know all your dirty secrets from him!" Amanda responded, while grinning from ear to ear.

"Whatever you hear from him, don't you dare break off our engagement, is that clear?" he jokingly warns her.

"We'll see about that." Amanda responded, while shrugging her shoulders.

After almost half an hour, Big Bill went back to their table, while he's holding a big tray with delectable looking food in it. Afterwards, Big Bill started retelling Emmett's high school days at Walnut Creek...

==============================

They had so much fun having a chat with Big Bill while eating all of the delicious food, and as a result, they've lost track of time. Emmett and Amanda didn't realize that it's already evening, and Emmett''s parents might be already waiting for them back at the Albreicht Mansion for their dinner!

After saying goodbye to Bill, the couple quickly steps inside the car and drove back to the Albreicht Mansion. After almost twenty-five minutes, they are finally back, and as soon as they stepped out from the car, the family's butler, Henry, welcomed them.

"Welcome back, Master Emmett and Madame Amanda." the old man greeted them.

"Where's Dad and Mom?" Emmett instantly asked.

"They are already in the grand dining room waiting for you."

"I'm so sorry... Have they been waiting for too long?' Amanda asked, while looking seriously worried.

Henry quickly glanced at his wristwatch. Afterwards, he turned his attention back to Mara.
