Alana's POV.

  ***A day to the wedding***

"Alana, you need to come for fittings, your gown must be chosen today." My mom's voice rang out from the living room.

"Okay!" I yelled back in a hurry, heading downstairs after grabbing my purse and cell phone along with my purse. "Just give me one second-"

I followed her out, the irritation I'm feeling evident on my face, my mom acted like she normally did, pretending to not see how I feel.

Everything felt frustrating, the wedding tomorrow that I have no choice but to be a bride, my thoughts filled with the one night stand I had.

I couldn't stop thinking of Xavier, the night we shared repeated  over and over again, his voice and smile filling every corner of my head.

I groaned in frustration as my mom dragged me inside the wedding dress shop, distracting me from my thoughts.

My eyes scanned the room, it seemed like an endless maze, rows of dresses laid across every surface,  the floor being covered with thick carpet.

My mom stopped right beside a long, blue dress, it looked like silk and it almost matched my dress perfectly. "Here it is," she exclaimed.

"This is what you'll wear during the reception." She pulled the dress from its place, "It has an open necked style, and this," she picked up another dress, pink, "is more suitable for your skin tone."

"Which one do you prefer?" She asked.

"Have I ever had a choice in what you and dad want from me?" I snapped ,turning away from her.

"Just pick what you think is the best, this wedding is not my choice anyway." I added.

Mom let out a sigh and continued searching through the dresses,I stared at her, my irritation growing every second I eyed the wedding dresses in the room.

"I've found the main dress you'll use tomorrow." My mom held a white dress in front of me, "And it will fit you perfectly."

I rolled my eyes, turning around again. "Great," I muttered to myself as I walked towards the dressing room.

"Try it on immediately." My mom yelled outside the dressing room as soon as the door closed.

I sighed as I changed out of my clothes into the white dress. It was beautiful, the lace hem reaching to my thighs . The fabric itself looked soft yet elegant, the material feeling smooth under my fingertips as I ran my hands down the length of the dress.

"This is perfect." My mom smiled brightly.

I didn't bother returning the grin, just gave a nod and started getting ready to leave.

  ********

"You better behave yourself tomorrow." My dad said immediately I stepped inside the house.

I frowned, my mood dropping even further. "Of course I will, dad. Why wouldn't I?" I replied sarcastically.

He shook his head disapprovingly. "Don't be silly."

He said as he put a hand on my shoulder. "We're here to support you throughout it all tomorrow." He added.

  I scoffed, "Yeah, support."

"What is wrong with you?" my dad yelled, I stared at him, knowing no explanation would make him change his mind.

I mumbled. "You've never supported me in any way, you make me do what you want, so stop pretending like you care Dad." I took a step forward and turned around. "I'm gonna change." I added the last words.

I heard the sound of footsteps, they stopped just before I got into the bedroom.

My heart skipped a beat when I turned around, only to see him walking towards me with an angry expression.

"I won't repeat this again, you'll be at the wedding tomorrow and will get married like planned." With each word my father uttered the fury grew, I kept staring at him, tears brimming my eyes.

I felt like an animal, an animal caged and cornered by my parents.

"Yes sir." I replied quietly as I walked into my room.

I went into the bathroom and washed my face, I tried to ignore my crying but my heart kept racing.

When I opened the bathroom door, I found Cara standing in my room.

"Hey you." I sniffled, walking over to her and hugging her tightly.

She hugged me too, pulling back slightly.

"Your parents said I should stay here since I'm your bridesmaid."

"Don't talk about anything related to the wedding, I'm in a sour mood, hearing anything related to the wedding will just piss me off more." I sighed, rubbing my temples.

Cara nodded knowingly, "Okay," She replied.

"At least you had fun before all this." Cara  grinned at me, trying to lighten my mood.

"That's debatable, but yeah the sex was amazing." I mumbled, taking some water from my mini fridge and gulping it down. "How'd your day go?" I asked, changing the topic.

She shrugged, "Good, I had to avoid my parents, though I know after your marriage, I'll have no choice but to marry."

"Our life sucks." I groaned, putting my head in the palms of my hands.

"I brought alcohol." Cara announced holding up two bottles of red wine.

I collected a bottle immediately, I needed a good buzz if I planned to calm my nerves down.

"I just wish he'll stop trying to rise to the top by using me." I sighed thinking of how my dad is only using marriage as an excuse to move up the popularity and money chain.

I mean, who doesn't love a good marriage?

But why do I have to marry who my dad wants for him to get what he wants? Why do I have to marry when I'm not ready?

The thoughts were running inside my head, making my blood boil.

"I'm tired." I sighed, throwing myself onto the bed.

"I'm feeling sleepy." Cara sighed climbing up next to me.

I smiled softly, looking at her. She looked exhausted, I closed my eyes hoping sleep would take me.

Alana's POV. I looked around the corridor, a little scared of meeting Rolland as I finally came out of the room hours after Cara left. I didn't feel safe around him, and though I didn't want to admit it, his anger and the way he acted while he was drunk scared me. Rushing to the dining room, I forced a smile when I saw everyone seated already. "Good morning everyone." I greeted, and my voice sounded shaky. "Sorry if I'm late." I sighed in relief when I didn't see Rolland around. "It's okay." Mrs Alejandro replied, her facial expression made me know it wasn't okay that I came late for breakfast. "I thought you said you'll share a room with Rolland." Mrs Alejandro pointed out. "Where is he?" Her tone had an edge that made me uncomfortable. "I don't know." I whispered back nervously. It was true, I didn't know where he was at the moment. I just wanted to stay away from him for the meantime, and what happened made me view him differently. "I need to talk to you about

Alana's POV. A yelp left my mouth when I suddenly got dragged, with great force, from the bed. "What are you doing?" I gasped. Rolland glared hard at me, his breathing a little uneven, I sniffled the smell of alcohol coming from him filled my nostrils. "You were supposed to be awake, waiting for me as my wife." He growled at me. "I waited, but I fell asleep." I mumbled, his anger scaring me. I tensed when he began pacing the room, muttering incoherently, it was very obvious he was extremely drunk. "You didn't tell me you had a junior brother?" I tried to lighten the air,but it didn't help. Talking about his brother seemed to piss him off more, he walked towards me, his eyes blazing in rage. I shivered when my back touched the cold wall immediately, looking up at Rolland with my head bowed low, "What's wrong with you?" He grabbed my wrist harshly making me flinch, I held back the whimper of pain as I felt the skin being crushed under his fingers. "Don't you eve

  • In Love With My Husband’s Brother   Family.

Alana's POV. "I went to freshen up." I replied, wondering if my face looked as disheveled as I felt. My lips were tingling and the kiss I just shared with Xavier was still fresh on my mind. My eyes met Cara's and she raised her eyebrows suspiciously, "What happened?" she mouthed. "I'll tell you later." I mouthed back and gave her a smile. Cara nodded and continued eating,my heart began thumping when I heard footsteps. I could feel Xavier's gaze on me, his stare burning through my skin like fire. "You left again?" Rolland asked him. "Something came up," he answered simply, his jaw clenching. Rolland sighed and turned around, looking for another target. I could still feel Xavier's gaze burn through my skin, his stare burning through my skin like fire. "Thank you for the meal." Xavier sighed, getting up from his chair. "Where are you going?" Mr Alejandro asked him. Xavier took out his phone and looked down at it, "I have business to attend to." He answer

Alana's POV. I heaved a sigh of relief when I reached the hallway, sitting down there and pretending to eat, while all I could think of and focus on was Xavier was tiring. I could feel his eyes on me every second, it felt like I was his only focus there and it unnerved me. I was still dealing with the shock of finding out that he's my husband's junior brother. Sitting down there and feeling his eyes on me while reminiscing about our night made my head spin just thinking about it. A yelp left my mouth when a hand suddenly grabbed me to the corner. I looked up to meet those intense grey eyes, and gulped. "What are you doing?" I thought as I tried to pull back, but he held me tight as a vice. "You." Xavier spoke. He let go of me to lean against the wall behind me, so close that our chests were touching. "When did you plan to tell me you were getting married?" "No, don't answer that." He added when I opened my mouth to reply. "But-""No." Xavier stopped me from protestin

  • In Love With My Husband’s Brother   Ache.

Xavier's POV. I wasn't ready for the shock I just had, the woman I've been looking for since I woke up, the woman who vanished from my bed and penthouse, was sitting at the other end of the table as my older brother's wife. I couldn't believe it, it took a lot for me to wear down the shock I felt, the woman I had a one night stand with, the woman I didn't want to let go. Her eyes avoided mine everytime I stared at her, her hand nervously scratching the nape of her neck. Our passionate night flashed in my head, how she was so hot underneath me, I swear I could hear every word that came out of her mouth, I could feel how soft her skin was, I didn't want to let her go, for the first time, I slept peacefully because she was there. The pang of pain I wasn't ready for hit me, a stabbing ache in my chest. "I really thought you won't show up Xavier." My dad commented, dragging me out of my thoughts. "I didn't expect to show up." I managed a smile, hoping that my voice doesn't be

Alana's POV. My nerves are all over the place today. I sat on the long stool placed for me, nervous about how today will turn out. I can't believe I'll be getting married in an hour, the makeup artist tilted my face to apply the finishing touches. The makeup artist is making my lips red and glossy like a fresh peach. The lipstick makes me look even more seductive than before, though. She applies the last touch just right, then steps back to admire her work."You're beautiful," she says. Then she pulls away with a sigh."I'm done." She hollered at someone through the door. "You can come in now." I rolled my eyes when my dad and mom walked inside the room, dressed up in fancy clothes, something I knew they wouldn't buy, I could just guess it was from the Alejandro's family pocket. "You look beautiful and ready." My dad smiled at me. "Yeah, like a prized cow." I grumbled under my breath. My mom gave a sharp intake of breath. "You don't have to act like it's the end of y
