Alana's POV.

My nerves are all over the place today. I sat on the long stool placed for me, nervous about how today will turn out.

I can't believe I'll be getting married in an hour, the makeup artist tilted my face to apply  the finishing touches.

The makeup artist is making my lips red and glossy like a fresh peach.

The lipstick makes me look even more seductive than before, though. She applies the last touch just right, then steps back to admire her work."You're beautiful," she says.

Then she pulls away with a sigh."I'm done." She hollered at someone through the door. "You can come in now."

I rolled my eyes when my dad and mom walked inside the room, dressed up in fancy clothes, something I knew they wouldn't buy, I could just guess it was from the Alejandro's family pocket.

"You look beautiful and ready." My dad smiled at me.

"Yeah, like a prized cow." I grumbled under my breath.

My mom gave a sharp intake of breath. "You don't have to act like it's the end of your life, you know."

"It is." I said, my voice flat.

"Let's get this on with." I added standing up immediately I saw Cara walk in all dressed up.

"The car is ready." She announced, we all walked out of the house.

  ********

The church was already filled with guests as I walked in with my dad holding my hand. I looked over the sea of people, not seeing anyone who I really recognized, or cared about at least. I could see people I only saw on the news.

I heard the pastor's voice calling everyone to order when I finally reached where my husband-to-be stood, reaching out his arm for me.

I held on tight and he took me to where we  were sitting. He whispered into my ear, "you look stunning."

I forced a smile, trying to calm down as the pastor began speaking.

He talked for a long time, I didn't listen to anything he said, all I wanted was for the sermon to be over.

He made us stand, exchanging vows and rings immediately.

"Today the man and the woman are joined together in holy matrimony."

He then turned towards us,"You may kiss the bride.", he said, smiling sweetly.

We exchanged quick pecks but nothing else.  I tried not to frown but it wasn't working,I shook hands and took pictures with everyone my new family brought to greet me.

My parents were by my side taking pictures too. I wanted to take off the wedding dress. My irritation grew because of their constant pestering to take more pictures with people I didn't know. I forced a smile every now and then.

"The reception will begin soon." Mrs Alejandro informed as everyone started heading outside.

"It'll be a more private event, we'll invite some reporters to take more pictures and invite some close friends and family, the invitation number is 100 people." She added walking away.

I sighed in relief when Cara walked to me, "I'm finally seeing someone I want to see."  I told her, she placed her ring finger on her lips shutting me up immediately, I frowned following the direction her head tilted to and saw my husband raising his eyebrows at me, my parents were frowning as well.

"Whatever." I sighed following her to the changing room.

"You shouldn't have said that." Cara sighed,  opening the stall door and gesturing me to step inside first, I did so. Cara closed the door behind us and locked it.

"I'm not in the mood to cater to anyone, I've already been walking on thin ice for one day. You know what the worst part is?" I shook my head "my parents are so happy, their prized cow is finally married."

Cara grabbed one of my hands and rubbed circles on the back soothingly,"You're gonna be okay."

I sighed, shaking my head. "Yeah, I have no choice but to be."

I changed up immediately,  throwing the wedding dress and veil into a pile of dresses. I pulled on the second dress my mom got for me.

"Let's go and get this done with." Cara muttered as we left the room, entering the car waiting for us.

The reception venue was the Alejandro's mansion; it was so large and  extravagant it could be a theme park. There was a huge  fountain surrounded by a circular area in the center of the estate.

I could spot a couple of cameras flashing around and the people invited were already dining.

I could feel their eyes on me as I walked to the seat reserved for me.

"The newly wedded bride is finally here." Mr Alejandro announced as I sat down.

"Thank you for everything today Mr and Mrs Alejandro." My dad and mom bowed.

"I hope I'm not late." A sudden chill

went through me when a deep voice spoke, a voice I recognised easily.

Everyone fell silent, staring at who had interrupted our celebration, I stared at him and gulped.

I couldn't believe I was looking at Xavier, his nostrils flared as he stared at me, shock evident on his face.

I swallowed thickly not knowing what to do, I felt tears burning my eyes, my mouth opened in surprise as I stared at Cara who also looked at me in surprise.

His eyes darkened, his jaw clenched tightly as if holding himself from saying something.

He didn't move, just kept staring, then he walked to Mr and Mrs Alejandro and kissed them on the cheek.

"Good evening mom and dad." He smirked.

I gaped at him in shock, the realization that he was related to my husband had my heart beating quickly.

I watched my husband clench his finger tightly as Xavier walked close to him.

"Hi big brother." Xavier grinned, leaning forward and kissing his cheek.

"I thought you weren't in town." My husband said through clenched teeth, I noticed his hand balling into a fist.

"I won't miss your wedding for anything and you have a beautiful wife." Xavier's expression met mine, his gaze lingering on me.

"He has a brother?" my parents asked simultaneously.

"Yeah, Xavier is our second son and the youngest." Mr Alejandro replied.

I stared at Xavier, our passionate night flashing in my memory, I looked away immediately swallowing hard feeling hot all over.

Alana's POV. I looked around the corridor, a little scared of meeting Rolland as I finally came out of the room hours after Cara left. I didn't feel safe around him, and though I didn't want to admit it, his anger and the way he acted while he was drunk scared me. Rushing to the dining room, I forced a smile when I saw everyone seated already. "Good morning everyone." I greeted, and my voice sounded shaky. "Sorry if I'm late." I sighed in relief when I didn't see Rolland around. "It's okay." Mrs Alejandro replied, her facial expression made me know it wasn't okay that I came late for breakfast. "I thought you said you'll share a room with Rolland." Mrs Alejandro pointed out. "Where is he?" Her tone had an edge that made me uncomfortable. "I don't know." I whispered back nervously. It was true, I didn't know where he was at the moment. I just wanted to stay away from him for the meantime, and what happened made me view him differently. "I need to talk to you about

Alana's POV. A yelp left my mouth when I suddenly got dragged, with great force, from the bed. "What are you doing?" I gasped. Rolland glared hard at me, his breathing a little uneven, I sniffled the smell of alcohol coming from him filled my nostrils. "You were supposed to be awake, waiting for me as my wife." He growled at me. "I waited, but I fell asleep." I mumbled, his anger scaring me. I tensed when he began pacing the room, muttering incoherently, it was very obvious he was extremely drunk. "You didn't tell me you had a junior brother?" I tried to lighten the air,but it didn't help. Talking about his brother seemed to piss him off more, he walked towards me, his eyes blazing in rage. I shivered when my back touched the cold wall immediately, looking up at Rolland with my head bowed low, "What's wrong with you?" He grabbed my wrist harshly making me flinch, I held back the whimper of pain as I felt the skin being crushed under his fingers. "Don't you eve

  • In Love With My Husband’s Brother   Family.

Alana's POV. "I went to freshen up." I replied, wondering if my face looked as disheveled as I felt. My lips were tingling and the kiss I just shared with Xavier was still fresh on my mind. My eyes met Cara's and she raised her eyebrows suspiciously, "What happened?" she mouthed. "I'll tell you later." I mouthed back and gave her a smile. Cara nodded and continued eating,my heart began thumping when I heard footsteps. I could feel Xavier's gaze on me, his stare burning through my skin like fire. "You left again?" Rolland asked him. "Something came up," he answered simply, his jaw clenching. Rolland sighed and turned around, looking for another target. I could still feel Xavier's gaze burn through my skin, his stare burning through my skin like fire. "Thank you for the meal." Xavier sighed, getting up from his chair. "Where are you going?" Mr Alejandro asked him. Xavier took out his phone and looked down at it, "I have business to attend to." He answer

Alana's POV. I heaved a sigh of relief when I reached the hallway, sitting down there and pretending to eat, while all I could think of and focus on was Xavier was tiring. I could feel his eyes on me every second, it felt like I was his only focus there and it unnerved me. I was still dealing with the shock of finding out that he's my husband's junior brother. Sitting down there and feeling his eyes on me while reminiscing about our night made my head spin just thinking about it. A yelp left my mouth when a hand suddenly grabbed me to the corner. I looked up to meet those intense grey eyes, and gulped. "What are you doing?" I thought as I tried to pull back, but he held me tight as a vice. "You." Xavier spoke. He let go of me to lean against the wall behind me, so close that our chests were touching. "When did you plan to tell me you were getting married?" "No, don't answer that." He added when I opened my mouth to reply. "But-""No." Xavier stopped me from protestin

  • In Love With My Husband’s Brother   Ache.

Xavier's POV. I wasn't ready for the shock I just had, the woman I've been looking for since I woke up, the woman who vanished from my bed and penthouse, was sitting at the other end of the table as my older brother's wife. I couldn't believe it, it took a lot for me to wear down the shock I felt, the woman I had a one night stand with, the woman I didn't want to let go. Her eyes avoided mine everytime I stared at her, her hand nervously scratching the nape of her neck. Our passionate night flashed in my head, how she was so hot underneath me, I swear I could hear every word that came out of her mouth, I could feel how soft her skin was, I didn't want to let her go, for the first time, I slept peacefully because she was there. The pang of pain I wasn't ready for hit me, a stabbing ache in my chest. "I really thought you won't show up Xavier." My dad commented, dragging me out of my thoughts. "I didn't expect to show up." I managed a smile, hoping that my voice doesn't be
