Sabrina’s Pov
I couldn’t believe what I heard. I felt my entire world pause. While my phone was still pressed to my ear, I slowly turned to face Santiago . “My sister…” I whispered. “What about her?” He asked, with concern all over his face. My voice was trembling. “She’s been shot, I need to go to the hospital right now.” Santiago 's expression, which showed he was longing for something more, was now filled with alarm. He didn’t wait for me to say any more words before dressing up. We both sensed the urgency. “Which hospital was she taken to?” I asked over the phone, tring to keep my breath steady. I could feel my heart pounding so fast which made it hard for me to hear the reply. “H. Jude Hospital. She was brought here not long ago, and she’s unconscious due to the large amount of blood she has lost.” I didn’t want to hear all of that over the phone, so I hung up quickly. I turned, surprised to see Santiago fully dressed; his earlier desire was now replaced with concern. “I will drive you there.” “Don’t bother.” I said, not expecting him to do that. But he insisted and I wasn't ready to argue. I grabbed my pants from the bed, putting it on quickly, while I managed to zip it halfway. As we rushed out of the room, my heels clicked against the floor. We then rushed into the elevator, we got outside the hotel and then into the car, as he drove, the silence was deafening, my fingers were shaking every second. I was mumbling to myself, wondering who could have done this. I had no idea I had spoken out loud. “It could be someone you know.” I fixed my gaze on him, my face filled with curiosity. “You know you sound like someone who knows something.” “You think that way because you don’t know me, but you’re wrong.” He said, with his eyes fixed on the road, while I looked away, facing the window, biting my lip to keep myself from crying. We got to the hospital, we were told to wait in the waiting room, it smelled like anxiety and anticipation, a nurse finally led us to the hallway, she didn’t say much, and I didn’t bother asking. Valentina was in the surgery room, and when I got there, her eyes were closed, which made me scared. Observing her body, I noticed the bullet had gone through her ribs. To my surprise, Santiago was speaking with the doctor, his face was tight as he turned to face me. “This is bad.” “Look at her, will she make it?” Santiago gave me an assuring look that said not to worry, but that wasn’t possible. I was told to leave the surgery room for the surgery to take place, while I sat in the waiting room, I buried my face in my hands. This wasn’t how tonight was meant to be. My sister is lying on that bed, while her life is hanging by a thread. Santiago leaned on the hospital wall, pulled off his jacket, and gently placed it on my back. His hair was disheveled, while his sleeves were rolled up. “You have to be calm.” He said, gently. “You have to leave now.” I snapped. “You won't just shut me out like this.” He muttered. “I will, you have no idea what it's like to see someone I care about lying there half dead. She’s all I got, and I feel so helpless.” Santiago sighed. “You don’t have to use the word helpless, you’re here for her, stepping in when no one did, means a lot.” I could tell he was trying to assure me. “Stop comforting me, you owe me nothing.” I could sense the silence for a moment before he finally spoke up. “What if I do?” Now, I was curious to know who exactly I just wanted a one-night stand. “Why are you still here with me? You’re also acting so nice, why?” “Nothing much, just want to be here.” I sighed. “All I ever wanted from you was just a night, one night with no strings attached.” “Don’t say that. What if I wanted more than just that? What if I don't want to spend just a night with you?” I fixed my gaze on him, I was stunned at this point but I never asked for this nor do I want this. “Stop confusing the hell out of me.” I wasn’t interested in whatever he had to say. “Nah, I’m not, I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I just want you to know it wasn’t just sex I wanted from you. Why will I be here with you if that's what I want?” “You’re probably here out of pity.” “You’re mistaken, when I look at you, I see something different. You're a smart and fierce lady, and I can't let you go for some reason.” “What the fuck, you barely know me.” “Then I think you should let me get to know you more.” Just then, Santiago 's phone rang, I pulled away then watched him step aside to make a call. He paced in the hallway and was also speaking in a low tone, I could only wonder who he was talking to. Not long after he had left the doctor walked towards my direction. “We have done the surgery but I am sorry to say no changes were seen.” I didn’t wait for him to say anything more before I dashed off to the room she was moved to. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I saw Valentina. I held her hand, “I will make sure to find who did this to you.” I was thinking about how I would explain what happened to Aunt Carmen, and then I saw a face. The figure was unclear, but when I squinted my eyes, I saw someone familiar, the devil himself, Rodrigo. My eyes widened in shock, and I parted my lips immediately. “Rodrigo!”Sabrina’s PovI couldn’t believe what I heard. I felt my entire world pause. Sabrina’s PovMartinez had dragged me out in the night to a club all in search of Rodrigo, the drug mafia. I know I said I'd do anything to get Rodrigo, but right now I just want to go back to my bed. My body still hurts from my encounter with Santiago .Martinez appeared in a stylish suit with an embroidered vest while I wore a sleeveless body-fitting gown with ruffles from my waist downwards. The gown stopped right below my butt, revealing my thighs and my face was made up—courtesy of my sister. My hands were tucked into Martinez's while we walked into the club, he caressed my hand with his second hand, he seemed to be loving the whole undercover thing more than I was."You look sexy," He complimented"Thank you, that's the idea, right?" He smiled as we continued inside. We sat on a couch by the corner of the club, and Martinez draped his hands over the back of the bench while I lay on it. We ordered Tequila as we watched the strippers dance around the pole.We soon noticed tension
Sabrina’s PovThe thing about working on a case is that you don't determine how your day will go; you can get intel at any time. I was heading home after a long day, before I suddenly jerked forward and fell off the bike as a car almost crashed into me from behind. I turned and saw a car stuck to the rear of my bike, almost lifting it. I picked myself up from the tarred floor and walked to the car fiercely as a tall, handsome man came out of the luxurious car. His arms and chest filled the entirety of his well-tailored black suit. I had prepared to yell at him, but on meeting his gaze, his blue eyes glittered, and I swallowed my saliva. There was a bit of a crowd around us by the time he came down from the car."Hello, miss, I'm so…""Hello, Mister, do you have a problem with your brakes?""It was an accident,”"Look at my arm," I showed him my scratched arm, but he was still very calm."I'm so sorry about your arm, I'm willing to pay for the damages on your bike and your medicals," H
Sabrina’s Pov"Bull's eye!" Valentina rejoiced behind me. I lowered the gun, turned to her, and smiled."You're so good at this thing."“It is your turn to come try it out," I winked at her after the first statement before dragging her forward as she tried to resist and handing her the gun. She held it and turned to me."I just can't shoot, it's so impossible for me to hit the target.” I moved closer to her and helped her lift the gun from behind her."Firm grip, look at the direction of the bull's eye, now point your gun in that direction, steady stance, and take a deep breath. Do not be shaky, and don't let your heartbeat distract you,” I instructed her before stepping aside so she could shoot. She eventually pulled the trigger, but she missed Bull's eye; she was so close to it."I missed it again." She lamented"But you were so close to it, you've never been that close,” I entreated her to try again, which she did."Bull's-eye, yes!" I yelled victoriously behind her as she hit the
Sabrina’s PovThe sound of the gunshot made me cover my ears and shut my eyes. Blood splashed on my face, the first time I tasted someone else's blood. I touched my blood-stained lips and wiped the blood off. The next thing I saw was my dad's brain splattered everywhere in our sitting room."Dad!" My mouth was ajar, I kept screaming for as long as I could remember."Be quiet, little girl," Rodrigo barked. He was the drug lord in Tijuana. Dad told me stories about him; he was the criminal my dad was so eager to catch, but Rodrigo was the death of my him."Take her outside," Rodrigo ordered one of his gang. He had earlier taken my mum out the moment he entered the house, he let me watch him kill my dad, but drove my mum outside somewhere, I hope to find out as soon as I get outside. My shoulders slumped, my voice quivered as I sobbed loudly, and my cheeks were flushed as tears streamed down."Shut it, kid." The mean man spanked the back of my head and pushed me forward. I tried to suppr
