Chapter 3

We ate silently, not talking to much and just savoring the food. The same hour after we ate our dinner, we flew to France using our private plane.

I really didn’t like the whole idea of traveling into a different country without any notice. His parents might get mad at him and it might also jeopardize his company. Even though I tried to insist that we must stay, I wasn’t able to convince. I’m a stubborn person, but he’s much stubborn.

We slept in the whole ride and rested a bit in our vacation house that we bought a year later after our honeymoon. Warren saw how much I enjoyed it here and he thought that the house would be a good investment.

He’s right, we often travelled here during vacations and even during surprise visits. We like this place so much that maybe we could also grow old here. Just him and me. Our children would stay on where the company is and visit us during vacations with their own sons and daughters with them.

I never noticed that Warren left all of our gadgets back home purposely so that we will have all the time together. I never had any contact with anyone back at home and Warren's company wasn't able to talk to him for a month.

I was worried that he left his company alone for a long period of time without any notice but at the same time, I liked it because I have all of his attention.

We traveled to different parts of France and revisited it’s landmarks and tourist spots.

First, we went to Louvre and we admired the paintings and different arts inside and debated about the beauty of the glass pyramid in front.

"I don't get why you think that glass pyramid compliments the Louvre. It totally contradicts the beauty of it,” Warren grumbled and I chuckled. He’s like a child grumbling at his mother.

He looks sexy when annoyed. His brows were furrowed, both of his hands were tucked inside his pockets and his head is lowered in an angle that highlights his sharp jawline and pointed nose. I can’t help it but to fall in love with him even more.

"It gives balance and a hint of modernity to the Louvre and it gives the tourists something to talk or fight about," I said and laughed a bit.

"It just looks out of place like a white ball in the middle of black balls," Warren explained.

"It doesn't look out of place. It’s perfect. Without the black balls, the white ball won't be noticeable and without the white ball the black balls won’t have meaning." I explained and waited if he would say anything but he remained silent.

“If you were given a chance to remove that pyramid. Will you remove it?" I asked him and looked up at him eagerly waiting for an answer.

"I won't,” he paused thinking of how he could explain his answer. “Well, you’re right. Ugly or not it is still an art and arts are for the Louvre." Warren answered, staring directly at the pyramid. This time he’s not frowning at it, but looking at it dreamily.

Second, we went to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris and took a lot of pictures. This was the first place we went to during our honeymoon. Warren knows how much I love to read books and the Hunchback of Notre-Dame was inspired by this church.

"Do you remember the first thing you said when I told you the reason why we went here first than the other tourist attractions?" Warren asked, looking at me with a playful smile on his face.

"You mean when you said the reason we first went here is because of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame?" I asked him.

"Yes, and you answered we should have gone first to the Louvre instead because you always wanted to be there." I laughed after he said that. I remember that day so clearly as if it just happened yesterday. Our honeymoon was the most memorable thing that ever happened to us.

"Why? I was just stating the truth, I always wanted to see the art stored inside the Louvre." I still insisted

"I know but it was meant to be romantic. You were supposed to be so happy on that day that you will kiss me or maybe tear up a little." Warren said and I cringed at his words.

"You know that I'm not that kind of a woman."

"I know and that is one of the many reasons why I fell in love with you." I just blushed at his words. He never failed to make me feel flustered and he likes teasing me about it.

In the middle of our day trip, we stopped in a french restaurant to eat lunch. We often buy snacks on the street as we walk and admire the place, but it wasn’t enough to make us full.

We asked at the people around where we can eat the best french cuisine and they pointed us towards a place where we couldn’t pronounce it’s name properly. Warren ordered our lunch and I laughed so hard as he tries to pronounce the foods in the menu properly. People were looking at us weirdly, but it didn’t stop us from acting weird.

The foods looked delicious and they tasted heaven. Even their foods were art itself. France is really the home of the arts. Even their letters and the way they pronounce their words were so artsy.

After our lunch, we went to the Palace of Versailles and admired the place with a tour guide who keeps on talking about its history along with other tourists.

"This was the principal royal residence of Louis XIV, until the start of French Revolution in 1789 under Louis XVI.” Our tour guide kept on talking as I looked at the garden outside the window.

I know this story already, I love reading history books when I was in high school. Aside from us, there were a lot tourists that were enough to fill the venue even if it’s a weekday.

"What do you say about sneaking out and exploring the palace alone without any boring speeches," Warren whispered into my ear and I giggled softly.

"I'm in, " I mouthed at him.

After waiting for the right moment we sneaked off to the stairs without anyone seeing us. We went to the part of the palace that is off-limits to other tourists and spent our time alone there.

I don’t know which part of the palace are we, but the room is huge and we are the only ones in here.

I laughed softly after going inside because of our naughtiness. Warren put his finger on his lips telling me to be quiet.

"This place is beautiful, " I whispered.

"Not as beautiful as you, " he said then winked at me. I slapped his arm playfully and he just laughs at my reaction.

“What a flirtatious guy,” I thought to myself.

We lay down the floor, our backs flat on the ground as we talked about the paintings on the ceiling trying to give our own understanding about it. The ceiling has a picture of small cute babies that looked like a cherubim.

"So what do you think about having children?" I asked him.

I felt him stiffen beside me and I scolded myself internally. “Why do I have to ask him that?” If I could I would slap myself because of my stupidity.

"It's okay, " he answered me, making me feel relieved.

"Cool, " I just answered and bit the insides of my cheek because of the awkwardness in my tone.

"Honestly, I want to have children,” he whispered. “We've been married for two years already and sometimes whenever I see small kids, It makes me want to be a father. I don't care if it's a boy, girl, twins, or triplets it doesn't matter. If you don't want children then I guess we will have a lot of talking to do but whatever may happen, I will not leave you just because of that. Like I said we've been married for 2 years without any children then we could also be married forever with or without it. I can’t explain how much I love you but I know that it will last more than I can imagine. I love you Bella Laurent, my only wife." My heart fluttered at his words.

"I love you too Warren Laurent, my beloved husband," I whispered.

Then, there in the unauthorized part of the Palace of Versailles we kissed surrounded by art and history.

In a month, we spent our days being with each other. We did everythimg that we could do to maximize our experience.

The night before we left we went up of the Eiffel Tower. It was cold up there and you can also see the whole structure of the Louvre. There Warren gave me a gold locket. The words Warren + Bella were carved at the front and inside was a picture of me and him smiling during our wedding.

Warren took the locket and clasped it around my neck. The locket is heavy but I don't want to remove it. Few tears escaped my eyes, I feel so emotional these past few days. Warren raised his thumb and wiped away my tears. He smiled when he saw them, then he cupped my face and kissed me passionately.

"I promise it will only be you from now and forever. I will trust you and I will take good care of you. I will always fight for you in whatever circumstances it might be. I promise I will love and cherish you forever." He promised while staring straight into my eyes.

"I'm so lucky to have you," I answered him.

"No my love, I am the luckiest guy in the world for marrying a sweet, understanding, and loving woman like you." He kissed the tip of my nose and I closed my eyes and smiled.

If I only knew that things will go bad after this I would've held him tighter than I ever did.
