CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Six eyes turned in Steve's direction. He swallowed, holding on to Liam's hand tighter as he anticipated their comments.
"Boyfriend?" Oliver spoke first, surprised. "Woah, i-"
"Don't act so surprised dad," Steve faced his dad.
"I'm not," he dropped his cutlery. "I mean, I am but not too surprised. I was expecting it. I could tell. I'm just surprised that it happened already like it feels so soon."
"You're gay?" Grace said, her eyes on Steve. Her faced screamed disgust as he looked at Steve then Oliver. "Oliver, your son is gay?"
"No, he's not," Oliver laughed. "I mean I don't think so. I mean he has dated girls before so no he's not really gay."
"So it's just a phase then?" she asked Oliver. He wasn't expecting the question as he remained silent. "Okay, it might be just a phase but still are you going to tolerate it?"

Liam rolled in bed, mentally blaming himself for leaving his text notifications on so loud. Not only did it ring so loudly, it rang loudly twice.Still sleepy, he got up to pick his phone to silence it from any future disturbance.
