Chapter 112

She was silent, watching as that handsome man walked away. She didn't understand why she couldn't stop looking at him. She had seen handsome men many times. His father lived surrounded by them. Athletic men with heart-stopping butts. However, there was something about… Damn! h e didn't tell her his name a n d h e wanted very much t o know. h e hit his forehead as h e remembered how h e treated him. "How stupid I am. At this rate, I'm going t o be alone." She couldn't help but feel like a fool for being so rude t o him. Perhaps his intentions were sincere… or perhaps not. h e felt a little relief when h e remembered the way that girl almost ran away, she seemed t o be running away from him. Maybe h e was a lout a n d deserved every one of his mistreatment.

Anyway, h e decided not t o think about it a n ymore. She shook her head a n d started t o go back t o the table with her friends, but as soon as she did, she realized that her friends weren't there. h e took a quick look around the place a n d saw them dancing with some guys. She didn't want t o dance, so she sat at her table drinking her glass of water a n d listening t o the music.

She thought about her parents a n d how much they would miss her when she moved t o Massachusetts, she thought about her friends, who despite being hopelessly crazy, she was going t o miss them a lot. She imagined what her college life would be like, maybe she would get a super cool classmate with whom she would forge a beautiful friendship, as well as her mother a n d godmother Charlotte. What if she turned out t o be a n  arrogant one, one of those who believe they are the queens of the universe? God no! She prayed she wouldn't get a roommate like that. She thought about her teachers, would she be lucky enough t o have a handsome teacher, one of those who are the stereotype of the protagonist of the romantic novels they liked t o read so much? The face of that boy, the one h e had just seen a few minutes before, broke into his thoughts. There was something about that man that made her feel something very strange in the lower part of her belly, but she didn't know what. h e shook his head again t o chase those thoughts away. She couldn't waste her last days of vacation thinking about a stranger she might never see again in her life...

She closed his eyes a n d leaned back for a moment o n the back of that comfortable white leather piece of furniture, while Jason Derulo's voice was heard through the place's speakers. She loved that sexy brunette. She smiled as she remembered the time she was lucky enough t o meet him after one of his concerts. She sang at the top of her lungs, taking advantage of the fact that no one could hear her thanks t o the noise of the place.

Not a minute passed when she felt a n  intense gaze o n her.

She opened her eyes t o meet that handsome blonde with gray eyes.

—Girl you're the one I want t o want m e a n d if you want me, girl you got m e there's nothing I, no I wouldn't do (I wouldn't do) Just t o get up next t o you. Just t o get up next t o you…

Aháva raised a n  eyebrow a n d watched him closely as h e sang a n d danced in front of her, trying t o imitate the performer's movements. She couldn't help but smile like a fool at what his eyes beheld. In short, that boy was crazy.

"Hello again," h e said with a smile worthy of a dendritic commercial.

God! But what the hell did that guy have that made her react that way? I could not stop smiling.

"What are you doing?" she asked, unable t o help but laugh.

"I'm having fun," h e replied, moving t o the rhythm of the music. I see you like the song. Would you like t o dance with me?—he said extending his hand towards her.

"And your girlfriend?" Aháva launched the question a n d looked at him reluctantly.

"My girlfriend?" h e shrugged.

-Yes. The girl who ruined my blouse,” the blonde replied.

"Melanie?" No. She was not my girlfriend. She was just a friend.

"And what did you do with her?" She looked very upset.

They were both screaming due t o the loudness of the music.

'A friend took it upon himself t o take her home. Do you dance?—he insisted again.

Aháva saw that man's hand, large a n d long-fingered. She looked into his eyes a n d there was something. A shiver ran through her from the nape of her neck, down her back a n d ending at her coccyx. h e smiled again a n d accepted the invitation. Why did h e do it? h e was not used t o dancing with strangers. She used t o just have fun with her friends a n d when a man approached the group, they all ran away as if they had just seen a ghost.

Both walked t o the dance floor before the astonished look of Lauren, Jessica a n d Alicia, who did not believe that their friend was dancing with such a specimen.

He took her hand a n d put the other around her waist. Aháva began t o move shyly as h e looked like a finalist o n Dancing with the Stars. She couldn't help but smile when she accidentally stepped o n it.

"August," h e said. My name i s August.

"My pleasure, August," she replied.

He looked her straight in the eyes a n d smiled like a n  idiot.

"And you have a name?" August asked. She nodded, but didn't reply. Will you tell me?” She shook her head. She felt playful.

"Guess what," h e whispered in her ear.

-God! I'm lousy at that." Big a n derson burst out laughing.

-Oh, come on! It's not that difficult,” she encouraged him, although deep down she knew that not in a million years would she guess his name. h e imagined how much fun it would be t o see that poor man trying t o come up with his name.

August pulled away a little t o look at her face, continuing t o dance.

"Let's see... you have the face of..." h e frowned. Rachel?” Aháva wrinkled her nose. Monique?” She made a gesture of revulsion. Jessica? a n nie? Bianca? The blonde shook her head at each failed attempt. August narrowed his eyes a n d looked at her intently. Why do I have the slight feeling that you have one of those rare names, one of those “originals”—he drew the air quotes—, that have a special meaning in some exotic language.

Ahava burst out laughing. h e hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. There was something in that man that invited her t o lose inhibitions. h e couldn't understand what it was, but h e wasn't going t o think about it at that moment. h e was having such a good time, h e didn't want t o ruin the moment with ruminations.

"Ahaha," she said at last.

August gave her a sidelong glance as h e circled her waist again a n d they danced t o Mike Posner's I Took a Pill in Ibiza.

-What? a n d what does that mean?

"It's hope in Arabic.

-Really? a n d you wanted m e t o guess?

She laughed out loud again at the funny face August made.

"You're evil." h e pointed his finger at her a n d made a hilarious face.

"I'm sorry." She shrugged. I wanted t o know how creative you were.

"Want t o see something creative?" August said, looking at her mischievously.

"As long as it's not something you have t o show m e in a private place..."

The Big a n derson took the opportunity t o surprise his dance partner with one of his most popular tricks. h e closed his fist in front of the blonde's face a n d moved it from one side t o the other, making her gaze follow his every move. h e swiftly moved his other hand, covering the one in front of the lady, made a few more moves a n d the red rose appeared as if by magic. h e placed a kiss o n the flower a n d with it brushed Aháva's cheek. She felt her heart skip a beat a n d she smiled like never before. I was surprised!

"How did you do that?" she asked excitedly.

"Magic," h e replied, winking at her a n d handing the rose t o her.

Aháva's smile was the most beautiful smile h e had ever seen in his life. h e looked at the flower a n d understood that throughout his life h e had many red roses, beautiful, sublime women... but h e had never had the happiness of meeting a blue rose. That was the lady in front of him. A blue rose. Unique a n d special. a n d for the first time in his life h e felt his heart beating very fast.

He didn't think much of it. h e took a risk.

He approached very slowly t o the lips of that beautiful woman with green eyes.

Aháva did not understand why she did not dodge him, slapped him a n d walked away. It's what h e would have done in a situation like that, where a new acquaintance takes so much attribution, but h e didn't. h e closed his eyes a n d allowed himself t o be kissed.

Just one kiss was enough for them t o know that they were lost.

Suddenly Aháva saw one of her friends beckoning t o her from a distance. She felt something stir inside her at how stunned Lauren seemed t o be.

As she approached, she took the cell phone that her friend held out t o her. h e looked at the screen of it a n d saw his mother's name. h e put the cell phone t o his ear a n d spoke with a trembling voice.

"What's wrong, mom?" h e asked.

There was a short silence.

"You must return t o Germany at once," the woman said with noticeable eagerness in her voice.

-Why? Has something happened t o dad?

"No, darling, your father i s here." It's about Amir.

"Daddy Amir?" What's the matter with him?

-Its alive.

"But what are you saying, mom?" Are you sure of what you're saying?

"As sure as I have him in front of me, at this moment, with the desire t o see his daughter.
