Chapter three: why does my first day at everything sulk?

It was too late to chase after the car since she had wasted almost all her energy in a fight with him.

"Ahh…" She shook herself angrily when she turned to her bicycle which was on the floor. 'What will I tell Mom? that I ruined the last gift from dad?' She thought as she cried aloud for a while then paused when she noticed people were still staring at her.

She clenched her teeth as she stooped taking up her bicycle and without looking at anyone she dragged it across the road still weeping in her mind.

"I know what to do, If my team wins the audition I will use my share to repair my ride," She soliloquized to herself then glanced at her wrist watch.

"What!" Alexia screamed aloud when she realized that it was thirty minutes past ten and her team had already gone upstage without her.

She ran towards the building with her bicycle as she let it down where other rides were packed swiftly making her way to the entrance.

As soon as she entered the hall which was already filled up she took her right heading to her team's preparation room.

In a short time she arrived before the white wooden door as she pushed It open only to see them taking off their costumes.

"Guys I'm here," she said as they all turned to her and she could see the disappointment on their faces.

it was her first time being hired to play and she messed it up, she was so close to being their permanent player.

'Why did my first day at everything turn out to be terrible?' she thought as the first face that came into her mind was Richard. 'That idiot!'

"Alexia!" She was interrupted by the team's female leader. "Did you hear a word I said?"

"I'm sorry, miss Ella, I had a bad day," Alexia's sad eyes captured Ella's furious gaze. "Just give me one more chance and I'll do better,"

"No more chances Alexia! This was our only chance to get into business with the famous Richard Robertson and you wrecked it,"

"Maybe we should give her a second chance," said a male keyboardist who was hired along with Alexia and Ella fluttered her gaze to him.

"Sorry but I can't do that Thomas, Especially not with her," Ella glanced back at Alexia whose wet eyes were on Thomas.

"Please… we know she can play and she is good at it, whereas this is her first try," Thomas pleads further.

"Okay, I will only take her back if we get selected for the next round but if not, she will never play for us again,"

"It's time to call the winners so all participants should come up on stage," They heard one of the commentators voice from the main auditorium as Ella turned to her team.

"You all should come with me," she hesitated then looked again at Ella. "You will also join us on stage, and for goodness sake I have always warned you to brush your hair before coming for rehearsals, I can't believe you still didn't do so while coming for an audition," said Ella as she walked out of the room with her dance crew.

Some minutes later Alexia walked up the stage as she made her way to Thomas' side. She looked opposite them at the other three teams which were standing at the left side of the stage and sideways at the last team. Their minds were all in a hedge and Alexia could see a similar look on the faces of Ella's team but all she could do was pray in her mind that things don't turn out badly.

"The first team who will be making it through to the next round Is none other than The KX dancer's," The commentator said as the KX dancers celebrated.

'Please, let this not turn out worse,' Alexia swallowed hard as she could hear her heartbeat.

"That's enough people," said the commentator as Alexia looked away from him to the crowd of people who stopped applauding.

When she was about to turn to the commentator she noticed a man walk in with ten escorts dressed in suits as she hesitated.

'Where have I seen this face before,' Alexia thought with her eyes strained while she watched the man walk down to one of the Chief seats in front.

"It's him," she exclaimed in a whisper when she recognised it was the man she had encountered earlier in the car. What is he doing here?

Her widened eyes flickered and she looked away.

She pushed her long brunette hair to her side to avoid being recognised as she pressed her lips together with her eyes closed for a while.

"Why does he keep stalking me, hasn't he done enough damage to my day already?" Alexia mumbled.

"Before we announce the last team to make it to the next stage, we noticed a distinct VIP walk in, he is none other than the famous Richard Robertson owner of SBE wine corporation," the commentator said as the crowd began applauding.

'Owner of SBE wine corporation is here?' Alexia thought to herself as her eyes widened in shock. She immediately remembered her father's last words on the hospital bed before his death when she was only twelve years old.

'You must find the son of the president of SBE wine corporation and deliver this letter to him,'

She recalled asking her father what was written in the letter but he wouldn't reveal it to her and he warned her that she wasn't supposed to see it before he did.

The quest to find him and deliver the letter to him was the sole reason why she had started learning the guitar in the first place because she had heard that the president of SBE wine corporation so loved the guitar and it would be difficult to get his attention without piercing his heart with something he loved dearly.

Alexia carefully looked through the side of her hair to see who the famous Richard Robertson was, only to realize that it was the same man she had encountered at the crossroad.

her mouth hung open while she watched two other VIP's exchange handshakes with Richard.

'No, This can't be happening, it can't be him,' She closed her mouth as she swallowed hard then parted her lips to allow air through while her heart kept racing. "What if he sees me, I will lose this job for sure,"

She pushed the side of her hair to cover her face more appropriately. 'How many times do I have to tell you to stop talking abusively to strangers!' she scolded herself in her mind as she shut her eyes in regret. 'I wish I had never met him,'

"I would like to announce the final group which will be taken to the next stage and they are none other than The F.B.X," said the commentator as Ella and her team screamed out in joy.

"We made it, We passed the test. I knew right from the start that I will have the job," Alexia whispered as a wide smile spread over her face. "Yes!"

"Alexia," Thomas tapped her as she turned to him. "Why aren't you celebrating, You got the job,"

"I understand Thomas, we have to go down now," She whispered as Thomas gave her a curious gaze.

"Is there anything you aren't telling me, or are you afraid of something?" Thomas asked as Alexia pressed her lips together then glanced up at him.

"What? I'm not afraid of anything," she whispered and willing to prove her point she stood upright. "You see, I'm okay," she brushed her hair backwards then turned toward the crowd only to meet Richard's blue eyes.

"No," Alexia muttered as she watched his serious countenance brighten and a wicked smile spread across his face. "What have I done?"
