Twenty-three
It was around 11 pm and Aubrey could not fall asleep. She kept tossing and turning in bed, but sleep did not pay her one of its pleasant visits. She had many things to do the next morning, but that was not motivational enough to make her sleep. She had a lot in her mind. She kept thinking about what Jordan did to get to know her. She wanted to be mad at him, but she couldn't. She did not find a valid reason to be mad at him.
She let out a loud sigh and got out of bed. She opened her closet and got out the nearest leggings she found along with a hoodie. She knew the reason why she could not fall asleep and she was about to put an end to it. She wanted to find closure. She wanted to kill her headache.

Jordan looked at himself in the mirror to check how he looked. Usually, he did not pay much attention to whatever he was wearing when he visited his family, but he knew that Aubrey would make an appearance, so he wanted to look good enough for her. Aubrey took a deep breath before descending the stairs. The whole place was quiet which allowed Jordan to hear her footsteps. He could hear the beats of his own heart and he kept looking around out of nervousness; he did not know what to expect from her. He was petrified of a thought that attacked his mind on repeat; he feared that she might abandon him. He was sitting on the couch, tapping his right foot quickly while staring at the floor. He could feel her steps getting closer to him and he didn't dare to look up; he was scared to meet her gaze.
