Three days had passed since Aubrey was attacked. On the night of the attack, she stayed with Jordan. He did not leave her side even though she was not as shaken up as she used to be, but he was being extremely cautious, like how one approaches a butterfly, afraid of scaring it away. He could not believe it, but Aubrey slept in his arms that night; it was not intentional, however, he could not deny his glee the following morning when he woke up and found her head nuzzled in the crook of his neck while his arm was around her small waist. He thanked the fate that made her fall asleep holding onto him while they were watching a movie.

Joy radiated from his soul on seeing her cuddled up into him. He loved how close she was to him and the way her body was almost glued to his. Aubrey was the missing puzzle piece of his soul and all he wanted was to own that missing piece but not in a possessive
