Chapter 3

I clenched my fists and my nails sank into the palms of my hands. My heart felt like a thousand sharp blades just pierced through it, and it hurt.

In the past three years, I have never been as shocked as I was now.

Rachelle came back from the dead. My husband helped her diligently and his parents were also kind to her.

My husband\'s old lover is back, and I was the last one to know.

Rachelle smiled sweetly as she said hello to Xabier’s parents. They were like a warm and beautiful family of four. I looked at them coldly and tried to suppress my tears so it wouldn’t flow.

“Husband!” I screamed, breaking off their happy reunion. They all seemed to have forgotten about me and I had no intention of keeping it that way.

They were quiet. Xavier looked up, a sneer appeared at the corner of his lips. He did not speak, but Rachelle slowly walked toward me.

“Thank you for helping me take care of Xavier for three years,” she spoke softly, but her raised eyebrows were a little proud. “It’s just that, I\'m back now, so I don\'t need you here, Miss Ye. You should leave and give Xavier back to me!”

My body shook and trembled. Rachelle, even as a mistress, was so powerful.

I couldn’t help but feel small.

I walked past her, looked at Xavier coldly, and yelled, “Xavier, she wasn’t dead, and your hatred for me from the start was uncalled for. We were married for three years, we slept in the same bed for three years. Now that she’s back, you just expect me to back off? Why?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Xavier\'s handsome face fumed red, as if denying the fact that he had been sleeping with me.

I sneered and said provocatively, “It’s not nonsense! You couldn\'t wait to ask me to marry you in the mourning hall on the day she died, and you even forced me to prove it to you by having sex. Isn\'t this true?”

Although I was smiling, my eyes were shaking. Now that the truth was out and the illusion has been shattered, I have nothing left to fear. I was not even afraid of marrying a man who hates me. What more should I be afraid of?

“Yasmin!” Xavier pinched my chin and furiously slammed me against the wall behind me, gritted his teeth and screamed. “Don’t cause any trouble. Be smart, just take a property and leave.”

Is he going to divorce me? Planning to use money to send me away?

“I don\'t want your money,” I laughed sarcastically as I looked at Rachelle\'s smug face.

How could I be okay losing to this kind of woman? I hated it so much yet the words that came out next were very calm, “I\'m pregnant! Xavier, you can\'t force me to divorce!”

Xavier was taken aback for a moment, then recovered and was furious, “Who is the father?”

\"You’re the only man in my life. Who do you think?\" I smiled coldly. I saw the joy in my mother-in-law\'s eyes and Rachelle\'s bewilderment. My goal was achieved.

Xavier\'s face was in disbelief and denied disdainfully, “I was always careful and I always took precautions, how can you be pregnant?”

“The precautions are not a hundred percent safe,” I explained.

Even with this, he still didn\'t want to admit it. I was disappointed. I looked at my mother-in-law with imploring eyes.

I, again, argued with reason, “Xavier, I am the wife in your household registration book. I have it in my stomach, the first grandson of the Jin Family. It’s okay if you don’t love me, but don’t blame me for causing trouble if you dare force me to leave.”

“Xavier...” the mother-in-law\'s tone was a little hesitant.

She glanced at me, came forward and took my hand, and said with a sigh, “Xavier, no matter what, Yasmin is your wife, son. You need to take responsibility.”

“She\'s lying to you!” Xavier roared, his eyes glaring at me. “Yasmin, I’ll know if you are pregnant or not. Let\'s go to the hospital now! How dare you try to fool me? You won’t get away with this!”

He doesn\'t believe me! I\'m sure that at this moment, even if I really am pregnant, he will still find a way to get rid of the child!

I struggled to get him to let go, but he wouldn’t so I tried to bite him. He was surprised and slammed me forcefully. My body spun out of control, my stomach suddenly felt heavy. Bumping on the coffee table, I felt an overwhelming pain.

As soon as I tried to get up, a stream of heat gushed out between my legs. With my hands covered in blood, I was suddenly aware that I have failed to keep my child safe...
