Prologue...

As I stepped into the devils den, a figure of a woman, sitting on a large throne chair in torn royal dress, was the first sight that smashed my expectations about the Brakoon. A wave of confusion began to settled down inside me after I had moved closer to her figure. I was standing in front of her, but her eyes seemed to be the only moving part of her body. Both her hands were lost into a deep hole on each side of the large royal chair. Despite the thick cobwebs and the chubby spiders dancing around her head, my eyes managed to see through the cobwebs, taking note of the pile of dust that had settled on her black hair, which gave it a rusty colour.

“My Lord... Your wine is...”

I turned my body in a speedy slide towards the entrance. With a single strike, I slashed through the Dwarf’s head, creating a bloody mess on the wall as he fell onto the ground along with the wine and plate. The grilled heart fell out of the plate while the wine jug broke into pieces. I didn’t know why I hastily finished him off without a second thought. What if he was only forced to do the job? What if he was innocent?

I turned back to the evil woman. Everything surrounding her looked very old and tattered. She sat like a statue, her eyes fixed on the body of her henchman as if he was the only thing she could see, while I was invisible to her eyes.

“Rowland!” I heard her voice called out.

“Your henchman is dead” I said

You dare come into the King’s palace to kill Rowland? You shall payyyy with your soullll…

Her lips suddenly parted, giving way to a black smoke substance which started creeping into the atmosphere to form the shape of a black cobra snake.

Evil Magic! I prepared my sword before the cobra attacked me. Eerie noises started to make their way into my head, like a form of distraction. My mother’s voice and the familiar voices of my people started wailing and crying and yelling out my name. I felt dizzy, as the cobra kept attacking me while I tried to block its poison with my sword. I figured the only way to destroy the black magic is to destroy its source.

The cobra kept hissing and following me around while I managed to get closer to the evil woman on the throne. My sword aimed for her neck, as a sound of another metal instantly clashed together with mine, forcing my sword to drop to the ground. Before I could pick up again, the cobra’s head also came bouncing onto the ground.

I looked at the tall Martian man standing in front of me. His sword dripping black blood from the dead Cobra “You again!” He spoke with sudden anger as he sent me a death stare.

The same General who appeared and saved me. He saved me again from the cobra, but why did he stopped me from killing the evil Brakoon?

“Why did you help me? If you are one of her henchmen?”

“You don’t know anything about the King!” He said as his hand suddenly grabbed my neck and fiercely pulled me to his intimidating height “Apologies my King. I will make sure to deal with him!” He bowed his head, and then continued to drag my throat aiming for the entrance where the Dwarf’s body laid.

I felt powerless in his chokehold. My vision started to turn blurry right before his hand released me. Followed by a violent cough on the ground, I managed to keep myself under control as I swung my body up again and quickly pulled out my dagger to prepare for whatever he was going to do.

“Rikas” His voice fell onto my ears

My dagger dropped to the ground “How? Who are you? What are you?” I uttered in confusion, trying to make sense of what was going on with everything.
