Esma’s pov
August and Diana had already left the motel, leaving me and other remaining alphas. I stand and stared at the gate, August’s car leaving the Noman’s land, disappearing before my eyes.
I don’t know why but for some reason, I was now regretting my decision of staying here. I could go with them and Diana could easily open the portal for me, but then I promised Reed I will wait for him. plus, there are other alphas here. Someone had to be here, it is not the right time to get selfish and think about ourselves.
I sighed and turned back heading to my room. it was noon now but the sun was covered by the clouds, maybe it would rain. I missed rain.
As if in cue the hair on my skin prickled with the uneasy feeling. My wolf as if sensing danger straightened her sense, I didn’t turn back and continued walking straight. I could feel someone was following me but I couldn’t smell any scent.
Hello everyone! here is the update. Thank you so much for sticking so far and tolerating my grammar. Tell me what you think about this chapter in comment section, Esma had her hands on mysterious book with anonymous author. Don't forget to VOTE COMMENT LIKE AND SHARE :) Until then Danish
My heart thundered like a wild cat inside my ribcage. This book is definitely bounded by magic or some other shit. This looks old, hell ancient and how did I get my hands on it at the first place? No librarian would give me that older book to the new comer like me even if I am an alpha. Now that I think back, the man who gave me the book was new. He didn’t know much about the rules and conduct about the library. Maybe it’s just coincidence. I shake my heads to get rid of all the unnecessary thoughts. Maybe Diana must have done something. A protection spell or something, she already saw the book back in my room and I bet she definitely read the title back then. I resumed from the same page I folded before I was interrupted by August. The words here were more indistinct, I tried to read several times but didn’t succeed. I turned the pages and started reading whatever I could understand. When Selene refused Ze
Reed’s pov “I don’t have any idea about it. I don’t know it is like I can’t foresee future.” Diana said, her eyes were set on the dead bodies. She was conflicted and so was I. It was the second time someone intruded in my pack and slaughtered someone and Diana didn’t see it coming. First time it was a human girl who my people found out dead on my territory not far from here. Diana didn’t see that coming and I don’t blame her because her powers are subjected to the world of super naturals. She can’t see the fate of humans. But this? This is the work of rogues. “But how he got killed? I mean this is not possible. Emmy said it was impossible for the wolf to die at the alpha position” August, his annoying mate cuts in my thoughts and I feel like to punch him on his face. I don’t know why she bought him with her. “I don’t know but they did some kind of clocking incantation. On a mass level.” Diana said still busy in her mind. August made a
Reed’s pov “Here. Take my blood.” I cut my hand for the hundredth time, the blood ooze out from the veins like a fountain. I offered my hand to the old lady. She stared at my face; I know she know who I am. The Cursed Alpha. She was hesitating, taking her time to choose between the moral thought of staying loyal to her previous or true alpha and die as a rogue or dare to deceive the already dead Derek she feared will turn into his graves if she pledge to my loyalty, joining my pack and live. The urge of living always wins in the end. She wiped my blood from her mouth and I moved forward to the next victim, my hand already healed, I have to slash my hand again to draw more blood. What a punishment. “Done.” August called out. We have split the pack in two halves, making sure families stayed together and sired them to our packs. I nodded and finally moved to the girl standing there in th
Esma’s pov I flipped the coin in the air for the third time. If it’s head, I am going to summon Moona, if tails… the gravity pulled the coin back and I caught it on my right hand and closed my eyes briefly before seeing the result. Childish? maybe. Idiotic? Definitely yes. It was the tie-breaker. First time it was head, second time it was tails. Now, the third time will decide what is set for my destiny. the gravity pulled the coin back. I catch the coin and cover it on my left hand and close my eyes to pray. Childish? maybe. Idiotic? Definitely yes. I don’t know if I wanted it to be heads or tails. I wanted to summon the moon goddess. she is the only one who can give me the answers I sought. On the other hand, I haven’t heard anyone summoning the deity other than the legends. And last time I checked, nobody heard of them. They are myth or maybe they were true.
Esma’s pov “Hope this will work.” I prayed silently as lighting the final candle. My hands were literally trembling, my instincts were telling me to stop right there before it’s too late. Or maybe it’s already too late. I formed a circle with the salt large enough for me to sit inside with other things. There were total three circles. I was sitting inside the middle and speciously the largest one. I traced my finger along on the ground making the outline of a star and covered it with salt, lighting another candle in the middle of it. Here, now the main work starts. I opened the drawer and picked up the knife. Old school. I have already prepared the altar and all things but my fingers were quivering mess. I asked one of the warriors of Dumeny to fetch me the necessary items. After the day, he was suspicious and I know he must have told Dumeny about what I am up to. Calling upon a Goddess signif
Reed’s pov “How is she now?” I asked as soon as I saw August leaving the room, he put Diana in bed after she fainted. She used a very powerful spell which probably exhausted her. She is known to push her limits but today, she almost crossed the barriers. No doubt the spell took a toll on her body. He closed the door behind him. August sighed heavily; his eyes were heavy probably because he didn’t sleep in last forty-eight hours. he looked like a ghost. I bet I looked worse. “She is still unconscious, but I could feel her getting calm now through the mate bond.” he speaks and rubbed his shoulders lightly. He worked way beyond his comfort zone today. First, he had to see the horrific body of Derek, then his son. he didn’t budge when it comes to sired his people in his pack which only shows his sense of leadership and nobility. But then it all went in vain as our futile effort to save them was al
Esma’s pov“You can now open your eyes.” I heard her enchanting voice and goose bumps erupted on my skin, reacting to her voice. I opened my eyes as slowly as I could. I can’t feel the ground beneath my feet, neither I could feel the breeze. As if I was floating yet for some reason, I was still able to maintain my equilibrium by standing at one place.I blinked several times before adjusting to the bright light. My eyes widened as I registered myself standing literally in the middle of the paradise if not. The trees laden with fruits, and grassy plains covers the land. The sun shines and the floors bloomed with perfect resonance. I stared at the epitome of beauty, the beautiful garden bearing every flower, every fruit the world have, right here.I turned to look at the creator of our species. Our goddess. Moona herself. She was sitting on the fresh meadow looking at the sun setting in
Reed’s pov “What is it Asher? Just spit it already.” I asked annoyingly as he stopped the car on the gates. We were back to my pack. technically, we never left the pack, we were just on ther farther end of my land which was yet to be industrialized. And now we are here. “The guards want to check in, they have my orders to check each and every car, even one I am in.” he said and put the windshield down to show his face to the guards. My chest swell with pride, knowing how good Asher is in his job and same for my people. they all are working so hard. “Sorry to disrupt but we want to see who’s in the backseat.” The guard said, his head low in respect and I know he was trying so hard not to waver in front of Asher. I smiled proudly and revealed my face. “You are doing great job.” I said in appreciation. “Gratitude.” They bowed their heads and opened the gates for us. Asher drive us t
