Chapter 2

Lost memories

"Sir, she has a fever." Misty said while wiping the woman with the wet towel. She already has a comforter that was rolled in her entire body, but she's still shivering in the cold. Gavin also asked the maid to turn off the aircon for her.

"That's normal. She was floating on the ocean with a lot of deep wounds," the old lady said while preparing everything to treat the woman.

"Are you sure that she can treat her?" Gavin asked. He never once met anyone who's not a doctor who knows how to treat an ill person. That's why he couldn't help but to doubt her capabilities.

"Sir, she's the only one we have here. There's no doctors or nurses near the island," Misty said while panicking.

"Whatever. Just make sure to treat her," he said and marched out of the room.

"Sir, I can't be wrong. That woman is the one who's currently missing," the old man mentioned, the husband of the old lady who was treating her. Gavin quickly stopped when he said that.

"She's all over the news. Even here on the newspaper," he said and showed him the newspaper. He quickly stole it from his hand and read it furtherly.

The old man was right. She was missing and her family is looking for her. Two clans are searching for her, offering a million to anyone who can find her. But then, none of them knows if she's alive or dead as they couldn't find her body yet.

"Listen," he uttered before he gave it back to the old man. "I want this to be a secret. No one should know who is not until I say so," he clarified in his baritone voice, using his authority.

"Yes, sir!" The old man answered.

"Miguel," he called one of his men.

"Yes, sir?"

"I want you to go back there and tell me what's happening," he ordered while pouring alcohol in the glass.

"Do you want me to investigate what happened to her?" Miguel asked.

Gavin froze for a moment and was lost for words. His head was a mess. He doesn't know what to do for a while. Should he keep the woman here? Or send her back to her clan who's looking for her? Because for some unknown reason, something's bothering him, making him suspicious about something.

"Do what you can do," he replied.

When the man left to obey his orders, his phone rang again. This time, it was Estevan who's calling him.

"I'm busy," he said immediately before they could even pester him again.

"Have you heard the news? We want to keep you updated," Estevan said over the phone. He was not surprised anymore. He already knew what he was talking about.

"What news?" He asked and still pretended not to know a thing about it.

"It seems like there's another chaos between clans in this Mafia world. The heiress of the Gabriel is missing, her plane exploded. Do you know her?"

"He probably does. Gavin knows every Mafia boss," he heard Gabe comment on the line.

"Yeah. She's the famous sword woman, the who kills with her sword." He uttered. Of course, he knows her. He never met him not until this coincidence happened.

"Do you believe that her plane just exploded?" It was Larisa.

"Ask Gavin. He's the one who always suspects things," Gabe uttered followed by a chuckle.

"I don't know. I'm too busy to care about their mess. As long as our clan is not involved, there's nothing to worry about." He answered with half of his brain already pondering the situation. They do not even have any idea that Amara Gabriel is in his place.

Now that Larisa mentioned it, his instincts tell him not to surrender Amara Gabriel. But if he doesn't, he will be involved in whatever mess she is in—not just him, but the entire clan of Clyborne.

"Well, I think it was not just a plane crash. I believe someone's behind it," Estevan mentioned.

"Stop wasting my time," he muttered before he ended the call and was left staring into nothing.

"Sir, the woman is now safe." Misty said as she went downstairs with the old man and the old woman who acted as doctor.

"She's getting better. Rest is all she needs. I also took care of all her wounds. What happened to her? All her wounds were serious," the old woman asked with curiosity. Those wounds were not even ordinary.

Her husband behind him remained silent and was only staring at Gavin.

"Can I ask all of you a favor?" He asked. That moment, he didn't know what he was doing anymore.

"Sure, what is it?" Misty asked with a wide smile.

"Can you not tell anyone that the woman is here?" He asked. That's the only thing he can do now. But it doesn't mean that he will keep her in his place. He's not making any decisions yet.

"Why? What for?" The old woman asked.

"You'll know soon," he replied. "I just need some time to think."

"Of course, sir. We will keep this a secret," the old man answered.

"I think that's better. It seems like the woman is in danger based on her condition," Misty mentioned, wearing a tiny smile.

"Did anyone see the woman earlier?" Gavin asked. He wants to make sure that the news about that woman will never be out of the island. It must stay there between them.

"Some fishermen saw you carrying her. But don't worry, I'll speak to them." Misty mentioned.

"They are my friends. Don't worry, I can talk to them. The people here don't have a big mouth," the old man said, which relieves Gavin for a while.

"Thanks. Misty, please let them eat and pay them for their work." Gavin commanded Misty.

"Yes, sir."

"Sir, the woman is awake!" The maid upstairs yelled at them.

"That's fast," Misty mumbled.

All of them quickly went upstairs to check the woman. And there was she, staring at the ceiling with her eyes blinking repeatedly.

"She's really awake," the old man commented.

"Where am I? Who are you?" She asked when she spotted all of them at the door.

"Calm down. Can you tell us your name?" Misty asked as she doesn't have any idea about who the woman is.

Gavin was watching her with his sharp eyes, observing Amara Gabriel.

Her brows met as she looked at Misty. She couldn't answer her question.

"My name," she uttered.

"Yeah, your name." Misty said.

"I-I…don't remember my name," her eyes went to Misty, confused. "Who am I? What happened to me?"

All of them became silent. Misty was in awe. Her jaw almost dropped in front of the woman when she said that.

Gavin's brows met while watching Amara Gabriel.

"Does she lose her memories?" The old lady asked.

"She did," Gavin uttered.

Amara Gabriel lost all her memories.

  • Invading the Mafia Boss   Epilogue

Epilogue End of war“Until when are we going to stay here?” Amber asked weakly. They were all tired and hopeless. The darkness was locking them inside that unknown abandoned place. They could not even see their faces vividly in the extreme darkness. “Until they come,” Estevan replied. His head finally stopped from bleeding. “I will fvcking kill them,” Amethyst said firmly while they were all sitting on the floor. “I can't believe we were all caught,” Larisa uttered and smirked unbelievably. “I wonder if Gavin and Amara know that we are here,” Gabe mentioned.“Don't worry. I was able to call them before someone hit my head. Amara probably knew that they took me,” she explained and breathed with frustration. “This place was secured well. There's no hole where we can escape,” Agatha uttered. She has been trying to see beyond the darkness since earlier. “It seems like Rio and Cassandra vanished from our sight to plan this,” Gabe chuckled bitterly. “Someone's coming,” Amethyst said

Chapter 111Taken “Is he still not answering?” Estevan asked Amber. She has been trying to call Gabe since earlier when they went to Larisa's shop and saw the situation. But then, up until now, he didn't answer.“Yeah. I don't know what he's doing,” Amber said and shut her eyes emphatically. They were all in the hospital now as they brought Leo who almost died.“Fvcking hell,” Estevan swore. He wanted to hurt somebody so hard at that point.“Why is he not answering? His wife was kidnapped!” He took a deep sigh and began to walk relentlessly. He didn't know what to do anymore. He's the only one who's there among all the men.Two of them were missing. Amara's father and Larisa. “Think of it,” Amethyst mumbled while contemplating. “They took the most important person in Amara's life and they took the one that your clan treasures right now, which is Larisa because she's pregnant.” Amethyst explained, gathering her thoughts. “It happened to me during Larisa's war. I was attacked,” Amber

Chapter 110Missing “Hey, make sure that no one will come inside aside from the Gabriels and the Clybornes.” The man said as they switched to the others in front of the gate. His duty is already done and it's time for them to do their job. The men nodded at him immediately. But then, they were not even turning their backs when they both dropped on the floor, bleeding a lot. The two men were about to defend and find who shot the two when they were shot as well. There was no noise made as they used a silencer. In just a snap of fingers, they were all down, dead with a shot on their foreheads. “Hi, wife.” Amara's father said while he was eyeing the sky in front of his balcony. A huge smile couldn't be hidden from his face. He looks happier now. “Our princess, she's so happy.” Hjs voice almost broke as his eyes began to water. He began to look away as he took a deep breath. “I have nothing to ask for, hon. Amara is happy, and I know that Gavin will take care of her well even without

Chapter 109Getting even“Who's that?” Cassandra asked after hearing the man's voice on Rio's phone. The call was on the loudspeaker. Rio quickly ended the call as he faced Cassandra.“This is what you want right?” He asked and hid his hands inside his pockets.“To get even,” he added and appreciated the warm wind embracing their skins. “Are you telling me that you did something now?” Cassandra asked and went closer to him. Rio remained silent as he closed his eyes gently.“What did you do, Rio?” She asked again when Rio ignored her first question earlier.“Rio!” She exclaimed, which made him open his eyes. He took a deep sigh and faced Amara. “Why do you always ask, Cassandra? Can't you just keep your fvcking mouth shut?” His eyes were sharp and angry. Cassandra felt scared for a moment. She really doesn't know who he is anymore. “I have to know, Rio! Why are you not telling me your plan? I'm your girlfriend, Rio!” She was indeed throwing a fit over it.“Shut up,” Rio uttered firm

Chapter 108Honeymoon“Have you seen this?” Cassandra asked, still wearing a white wardrobe. She almost slammed the newspaper on the table, showing Rio the news all over the world. Rio was currently enjoying his coffee on the balcony when Cassandra suddenly disturbed him. His eyes slowly went on the newspaper and saw the news that they both didn't like. He remained calm as he looked away and came back looking at the sky. “What?” Cassandra chuckled unbelievably with annoyance from her eyes when Rio remained calm as if seeing that news was alright for him.“Gavin and Amara just got married again. They are fvcking enjoying while we are here, hidi—”“Didn't I tell you that we are not hiding?” He asked and glanced at him again. His eyes were blank and cold. “Then what are we going to do? Stay here? Wait for them to have a happily ever after?” Cassandra chuckled while shaking her head. She even combed her hair with her hands. “I'm fvcking tired of staying away from their shadows, Rio!
