CHAPTER 7

“Hello Jenna” my father said, a little too softly for my liking, he was fighting a smile and I was a little concerned as to why he was happy to see the woman who had put him in the hospital for several years and made him isolated for years after that.

“Alejandro” my mother whispered, her voice lost due to some emotion I couldn’t quite place.

Bri and Josh had broken out of their trance and Had gone to tackle our father in what I’d describe as a bone crushing hug. Bri was sobbing, while Josh just gripped my father’s suit like he could just disappear anytime soon. The guilt hit me almost immediately, they hadn’t seen him in twelve whole years but I shoved it down, down to where I could easily forget about its existence, surely if they were going to be upset about my role in all this, then they might as well shove our mother off a cliff.
