It was completely dark outside when I finally woke up in my office sweating profusely, feta gripping my heart like a vice. I wondered if this was how I was going to die, the pain was gone but it felt like it was still there, hiding, waiting.

I crawled towards the bed in my office chambers and promptly passed out again.

I woke up early and started getting ready for the work day. Considering most of the clothes in my closet were actually just blazers, I took out a white one and smoothed it down with one hand. Paired with a skirt, just how I like it. I grinned at the mirror before wrapping my hair into a neat bun at the top of my head and applying some lip gloss.

Just as I was stepping into my office, my phone rang, startling me with how loud it was, it clattered to the ground from my hand. I hurriedly picked it up and answered the call,

“Hello Devonne”

“Who’s this?” I asked one hand holding the phone to my ear and the other putting my table in order. “It’s Edward”
