CHAPTER 31: ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR

It had been two days since Jess had made her confession to Pete. She had initially been worried about the lie she had told, but after seeing Pete’s reaction, her worries faded. Pete had been furious so she knew that he would never have a reasonable conversation with William. On the other hand, William would never have a chance to tell Pete about their budding friendship and the kisses they had shared. This decision would do two big things for her. First, it would stop Mrs. Garcia from threatening her and second, it would eliminate William and discourage his recent aggressive advances. She was sure that after this William would stop pursuing her once and for all. She applauded herself for killing two birds with one stone, while convincing herself that her feelings for him would fade away.
