" WHAT ? " I almost shout . " What do you mean ? "
Did Aeron's dad take his body somewhere else ? That seems like a logical explanation.

It disappeared . This was some kind of sick joke right ?
'Dead bodies don't just disappear ' I think bitterly at the fact that I refer to him as a dead body now .
" What do you mean ? " I ask carefully and Jace leans in from his side of the bed too , listening intently , probably just as curious as I am yet not as concerned though .
" Some of my subordinates were bringing him back , they stopped at the gas station and when they returned his body vanished . " His voice was dead cold as he said it . He seemed to be angry over the ordeal just as Alexis was . After all , even if Dad didn't particularly like Aeron , he was still the son of a man who used to be his best friend .

Alexis's Pov I was half asleep when I felt something poking my arm . Thinking it was some kind of insect , I yelp and suddenly get up to turn on the table light right next to the bed . The next morning I lazily get up , purposely pushing it even though I was awake . I keep my eyes closed and force myself to sleep more , turning over possibly a hundred times . Soon enough I give up and get up from bed .I check the time .9 am.Not bad . I thought it would be 11 am by now .By the time I shower and get ready , it's 11 . Clearly the little girl was incredibly scared of the man and I didn't want to talk to the woman in his presence , at least not until I figured out the whole story . I don't dare to fall asleep . Better yet , I can't fall asleep would be a more accurate representation of what I'm going through . I am not used to insomnia , usually I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow . After all , sleep is the only escape that I have from the real world . I can finally experience calmness and peace , something I stuggle with in my day to day life . That's no excuse though . I can't sleep away all of my problems . And it seems that in this generation , no one has known peace , I'm not special . I sigh and turn , desperate for a little nap before it hits 2 am . I check the time . It's only 11 PM .
