By the time they reached Kane's penthouse, Mona had stopped staring out the window.She was tired.Kane noticed.He always noticed.The private elevator opened directly into his penthouse, and Mona stepped inside first. Two bowls."Another pause."Whatever she likes."He hung up.Mona stared at him.She shook her head, smiling as she walked toward the hallway."I'm taking a shower."Kane nodded."Take your time."She disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.Kane remained standing in the living room for a moment.Then he heard the shower start.He walked toward the bedroom, pulled his phone from his pocket and sat on the edge of the bed.
