Emma’s POV
I really have to reinvestigate the crime scene, am sure that we might be missing one or two clues. I have put to put a team together to ensure the success of this investigation.
I turned it over in mind since that day on May 6th, it is already three days; thank God the scene was sealed off.
“Who are my going to add to the team?” I pondered. Then I concluded on adding Lynn and Vin to my team. This case must be resolved, I said with all determination.
“The time is 6am,” it’s my alarm clock. I just got up and freshened up for the case. The prosecution have already called Kate to court for aggravated assault and trespassing this can’t be delayed any longer. Melissa will definitely use this opportunity to keep her in jail and bias the mind of the jury in the murder case trial.
Vin’s POV
Being a detective for several years, I have come across many puzzles, but this case seems to be deeper than what the facts are presenting.
Chris’ POV I am really pissed this morning. What the fuck? This man was not looking where he was going. “Just mind your way” I said in response to his pleading. When I realized he was an officer and asked for my ID the only thing in my mind was run! I laughed as I saw them in hot pursuit with the patrol car, I will show them how we run the streets. Soon I lost their car, I have to quickly report to the boss. Emma’s POV We lost the vehicle, “that guy must be a gangster” I thought out aloud. “He sure is” everyone said in agreement. At least we now know there’s more to the story. Vin’s POV “We have to request for official reinvestigation guys” I said, everyone agreed. I know the sheriff will give us an earful when we back to the station. Kayla’s POV I found out something interesting on the scene: shoe prints about the size of 45-47. The accomplice must be at least 6ft tall. “ Here are torn clothes stained with bloo
Emma’s POV“ I doubt this guy is the culprit, I think he’s an accomplice, someone is using him” I said with disappointment. Shockingly everyone thought as much.Kayla’s POV“At least we got a substantial clue,” I said to lighten the mood. I know that we will take our time in this investigation for sure.Sheriff Morgan’s POV“Guys anything meaningful? Have you ID that son of a bitch?” I asked approaching the sullen looking officers. The look in their eyes told me that not much progress has been made.I was really irate, that I literally flew there, “let me see what you’ve got” I demanded. “This people have been on my arse since morning” I continued.Kayla’s POV“This people?” I asked in confusion, then it dawned on me that this case is becoming bigger than I envisioned.“Let’s have a press conference&rdq
Kayla’s POV I can’t let this madness continued. “I am Kayla, a senior detective at Winster county PD ask me your questions?” I said to the reporters to remove their attention from the sheriff. “I received a tip about…” they kept coming at me. I quickly handled the situation, “the tip you received shows that there is a mole, because this is an official sting operation it is not supposed to be public” I answered. “Do you have idea who the mole might be?” they asked. “ I am not at liberty to discuss an ongoing investigation” I said with finality. Lynn’s POV I quickly wrapped the scene and then I told them what happened earlier.. Tanner’s POV I set-up Max, he has been a torn on the flesh, it will be cool if I killed him using the cops. I saw the bewildered look on Chris, “that’s how I play” I said to him… Chris’ POV “Boss, I won’t snitch trust me” I said to Tanner. He nodded and smiled. We then zoomed off. “Boss that lady i
Emma’s POV As I came to the driveway in the morning, I found protesters everywhere with their posters, “We want a secured Winster county,” “Catch the murderer,” do your work,” “Justice for Albert” among others. I knew that we are in dire situation. I quickly parked an rushed to the station. Vin’s POV I practically stayed up the whole night going through various CCTV footages, I finally got a clue… the car with Chris in it, but the driver was blurred. I quickly went through other footages but it seems they intentionally evaded all CCTV cameras. “Good morning man, any progress?” I was woken up by Emma’s husky greeting… Sheriff Morgan’s POV I didn’t sleep yesterday night, the mayor and the governor took turns in blasting me. This morning, I saw protesters, we will definitely do the press conference to reassure the public of their safety. On getting to the office I saw that Emma and Vin are already there. Emma’s POV
Agent Tom’s POVAlbert is like my son, I mentored him personally when he joined the agency newly. The news of his death have been very depressing for me; I vowed to get to the bottom line.On getting to the station, I found it is Morgan, he have had various joint investigation before, he is an uptight and dogged man; am certain that we will make a head way.“Max and Chris are just pawns” I said , he nodded in agreement, “let’s work together, where are the rest of the team?” I asked.Sheriff Morgan’s POV“They are three detectives: Emma, Kayla and Vin and a forensic scientist – Lynn” I answered. He just nodded…Agent Tom’s POV“Let’s schedule a meeting before the conference, I will see you around” with that I left the office.Sheriff Morgan’s POV“These agents and their pride” I said, well the important thing now i
Sheriff Morgan’s POV Back at the investigation room, we discussed at length on how to control the situation and also give hope to the citizens of Winster county. “Agent Tom, care to join us for the conference?” I asked, I was looking for increased credibility before the media and the general public Agent Tom’s POV “I wouldn’t mind” I said in response, “the best way to make the perpetrators come out of their shell is to look strong and unbiased” I continued. Lynn’s POV “Concerning the chip, nothing much have been done so far, the chip is encrypted with password at various points…” Emma’s POV “I think we should leave out the chip in the conference, let’s go with…” Kayla’s POV “No!” I replied. “ Showing the chip will put them at harm’s way because they might try to get it back…” Emma’s POV What they say makes sense, there must be something important in the chip that made Albert to swallow it
Vin’s POV I was standing behind Emma the whole time, all of a sudden I saw that he was uneasy, then I followed the direction of his eye, I saw what going on, I quickly pushed the sheriff out of the bullet direction as everyone ducked, the bullet hit and penetrated the wall. The next bullet got the sheriff. Meanwhile, the man was shot, we quickly rushed towards that direction in hot pursuit of the criminal. Emma’s POV “That’s Tanner the culprit of Max’s murder!” Tanner’s POV Even though, the boss told me to stay underground for some time, I won’t want to miss this opportunity to kill old Morgan. He is my mortal enemy: he killed my brother I want to get back at him at all cost, I don’t know how that blonde detective noticed me but he has been intently looking at me as though he recognized me. In a form of reflex action he shot me as I fired at Morgan. I quickly rushed outside, told Chris to drive the car, while I escaped
Agent Tom’s POV I quickly surveyed the scene, I got clues from the organizer to the security, they need to be brought in for questioning. I found that the tire belongs to an SUV. “How come that Tanner guy looked familiar?” I kept asking myself. I must carefully follow this lead to gain the upper hand in this case because so far it seems to be going nowhere. Tanner’s POV Thankfully, the bullet just grazed my shoulder, so I had to tie a bandage around it. “Damn! This stuff hurts” I muttered to myself. At least I have gotten my revenge on old Morgan. The image of the man standing like a statue behind Morgan, “have I really seen him or is it just déjà vu?” I was brought back the beep on my burner phone. It is the boss! Smith’s POV As I saw the news this evening, I was really pissed off with Tanner, he is all brawn but no common sense. I have to address this case. “I want to see your foolish arse, where the hell are you?...”
