Chapter 212

With her door still being pounded on, Seraphine slipped on her shoes, threw on a jacket, and walked over to open it.

An iron rod always sat in her doorway, just in case. She grabbed it instinctively before unlocking the door.

As soon as she saw who was outside, she nearly rolled her eyes into the back of her head. What was Clarissa doing here this early in the morning?

Clarissa's eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Seraphine. "Is Clifford here? Tell him to get his ass out here!"

She looked nothing less than an abandoned housewife, all bitterness and rage. Her face was pale, and her whole demeanor had been stripped of its usual delicate image.

Seraphine stared at her, deadpan. Was she sick in the head? What kind of trash did she think Seraphine was, letting someone like Clifford stay the night at her place after everything that happened?

Even when Andrea was alive, she would never have allowed something like that to happen. It was her rule that they would not have any sleepovers
