Chapter 5

Kit never expected to see Anderson again. And seeing him as the leader of the band performing that night, listening to his beautiful voice, made him remember everything. That includes the pain he felt when he ran away and left like he had some infectious disease.

His mood has been off since then. Every time someone talks to him, he would quickly get pissed off. He would meet with different guys, but his mind was always somewhere else. Somewhere far away from reality.

"Excuse me, Sir. Mr. Fontanillia is here." Kit's thoughts were interrupted when he heard his assistant.

He looked at him. In all honesty, he is handsome. His body is well-built. If Kit is not the boss of the company, he would have tasted him. But he can't be who he wanted to be, especially not in his father's domain.

"Okay, send him in." He simply responded.

His secretary went out, and Mr. Fontanillia came in shortly after. Another boring business meeting, Kit thought.

Kit's time at the office is always made of endless meetings, signing of papers, reviewing business proposals, and like Mr. Fontanillia, visitors who want to beg to be their business partners.

He immediately learned the poker game of business. How people will try to bluff you, convince you, and lose if you fall for their deceit. Maybe it runs in a Solomon's blood. Because Kit is as wise as his father, always ten steps ahead of their competitors, and great when it comes to detecting manipulators and opportunists.

"Oh, God! Time to go home, at last." Kit exclaimed when the clock hit 5 pm. He doesn't have any scheduled night out, so he decided to go home early.

When he arrived, his father is waiting for him in the living room. He got his dark aura like he barely contains his anger. Kit's heartbeat raced. He thought of the worst possible scenario.

"Sit down, son." His dad said in a serious tone.

"What is this about that, Dad?" Kit formally asked his father. Or at least he tried to.

"Mr. Chavez visited us here earlier. He said that you turn down his offer of being engaged to his youngest daughter. Why?" Kit gulped. He wanted to let out a loud sigh, but he stopped himself. His secret is still safe.

"I don't like Chelsey. She's too plain; she bores me. And besides, I'm not going to marry someone offered by her own father. They just want us to add wealth under their name. Their businesses are hitting rock bottom. Why would I give them the salvation they are looking for?" Kit confidently explained to his father. It's the truth anyway.

"You really are my son. Great job, Hijo. Come on; it's time for dinner." When his father stood up and walked to the dining hall, Kit could no longer help it. He heaved a sigh of relief.

It's a good thing that he is constantly updated about everything related to the business world. Because if he was unable to give an excellent explanation to his father, he could be doomed. His dad values cunningness more than anything else. He may be a religious man, but there's no God that can fool his father when it comes to business.

---------

Anderson just woke up, and he was starving. It's the downside of working at night. Their day is about to end for other people, but for Anderson, it's just getting started.

"Mom, what did you cook for dinner?" Anderson walked out of his room with his eyes still half-closed.

"Your favorite, of course. Go ahead, eat." His mother answered while smiling. She just finished cooking after she arrived home from work.

"Thanks, Mom. Love you." Anderson said to his mom in a sleepy tone.

After eating his lunch and dinner in one, Anderson took a bath and went out of their house to bond with his childhood friends. He found them having a good time in front of his best friend's house. When he approached them, he realized that they were drinking.

"Andy, bro. When are you going to have another girlfriend? It's been two years, man." His best friend asked. Anderson almost laughed. He didn't even wait for him to sit.

"I don't know, bro. It just doesn't like the right time." Anderson responded.

It was almost true. He doesn't feel like the right time. But it's only because he's no longer sure of what he wants. Ever since he saw Kit at the bar, his mind has never settled down. He would always think about him. He didn't even sleep after seeing him.

His bonding with his childhood friends was interrupted when he received a call from one of his high school classmates. Anderson was invited to a birthday party held together with a barangay fiesta. After excusing himself from his friends, Anderson went home to change his clothes and left.

When he arrived at the location of the party, he saw groups of drunk people everywhere.

------------

Kit was about to go to sleep when he received a call from an old friend inviting him to a birthday party. Since he's not yet sleepy, he decided to come.

It only took Kit thirty minutes before he arrived at the location of the birthday party.

Kit was welcomed by his friends and was immediately given a bottle of beer. He smiled as he watched the people around him partying like there was no tomorrow. He just then realized that it was not just a birthday party but also a barangay fiesta.

Everyone was already drunk, and Kit was dragged in the middle of the street to dance. After a few minutes of dancing, one of Kit's friends take him to the side of the street to introduce him to a considerably good-looking bisexual.

He's tall and well-built, not masculine but not too skinny. Kit is enjoying his company. He's fun to talk to and is open with his gender orientation. Something that will not give Kit too many problems. But what he didn't know is that someone is actually watching him from afar.

"I like you, you know." Ken frankly said before placing his hand on Kit's left cheek and kissed him.

Kit wasn't sure; maybe it's the alcohol, or it's perhaps his longing for an intimate relationship. When Ken kissed him, it felt good.

Everything was going on smoothly when suddenly, somebody pulled Kit away from Ken and dragged him away from the crowd. At first, he was confused about who it could be, but when he saw a long hair tied to a high bun, he immediately realized the man dragging him was Kit.

"What the hell, Anderson!" Kit finally pulled his arm off of his hand. "What do you want, huh?"

Kit looked at Anderson with utter confusion, waiting for an explanation. But a minute had passed, and Anderson remained quiet, breathing heavily. His eyes were full of emotions, but he's not talking.

"What! You suddenly swallowed your tongue? What do you want from me?" Kit asked again; this time, he's already pissed.

"I don't know. I just—"

"You don't know? The last time I saw, you were running away from me like I have some kind of disease! Now you want to act like something is going on between the two of us? Are you out of your mind!" Kit can no longer contain his frustration.

"I'm sorry, I was just—I thought I was—was—" Anderson could not complete his thoughts. He wanted to explain, but his mind is betraying him.

"What? Are you drunk? Is this some sort of prank? Can't you see? I'm trying to live my life!" Kit growled.

"Is that how you live your life? Kissing every stranger, you come across with?" Anderson didn't mean what he said, but it was too late.

"Haven't you realized it by now? I'm gay, Anderson. So I suggest you stay the hell away from me while you can." Kit turned his back on him before his eyes could betray him.

Losing his mood for a party, Kit walked straight to his car and drove off. Tears are continuously running down his cheeks. It took him two years to forget about him. Now that he's ready to be happy, why does Anderson have to ruin everything again?
