Ellie angrily pushed open the bedroom door with a loud bang, shattering the peaceful silence of the room.

She immediately saw Colin lying in bed, his eyes closed, seemingly fast asleep. However, his face was unnaturally pale, with beads of sweat dotting his forehead.

"Colin!" Ellie rushed to the bedside, shaking Colin's body forcefully to wake him up.

Colin was startled awake by the sudden commotion. He opened his eyes abruptly, his gaze filled with confusion and anger. He struggled to prop himself up, feeling his head splitting with agonizing pain.

"Mom? What are you doing here?" Colin's voice was hoarse and weak, heavy with exhaustion and irritation.

"I finally managed to fall asleep. Why the hell did you have to wake me up?" His words dripped with anger, his irritation palpable. Right now, all he wanted was to sink back into sleep and escape everything.

Ellie was startled by Colin's unusual behavior. She'd never seen him like this before, and a strong sense of unease immedi

"Yeah, yeah, Gwen—don't worry about it," Zac replied dismissively. But he had zero intention of listening—not when he'd stumbled onto a lucrative side hustle at that clinic. Did she really expect him to walk away from easy money?Gwyneth noticed Zac's dismissive attitude, irritation prickling under her skin. She couldn't help but worry that her idiot of a brother would blow everything up.She turned around, gazing at Colin tenderly, asking, "Colin, how have you been feeling lately?" Colin smiled and said, "I'm fine, Gwyneth. Don't worry about me. Having you here makes all the difference."She flashed a relieved smile. "That's good. Colin, don't worry—I'll always be here with you."He nodded. "I know."..."Ms. Nicholls, there's a new development," Riley reported as he hurried into Aspen's office. "Zac went to that clinic again today, and... he made some kind of transaction with a mysterious person." Aspen raised an eyebrow. "A mysterious person? Did you get a clear look at

Aspen flipped open the financial magazine, her gaze lingering on the cover photo of Gwyneth—all poised smiles, yet her eyes gleamed with unmistakable triumph."Someone's getting ahead of herself," Chester said with a sneer, his tone dripping with disdain."Fuller Group's recent activities are definitely abnormal," Aspen mused with a slight frown. She felt there was more to this than met the eye. While Colin wasn't exactly a saint, he wasn't a fool either. How could he suddenly allow Gwyneth to get involved in company affairs? Aspen turned to Riley and asked, "Riley, do you have any updates?" "Ms. Nicholls, I've been observing Mr. Fuller lately, and he... he seems genuinely unwell," Riley said with concern in his voice. "He takes medication that Ms. Sanders gives him every day. Now he acts like he can't live without her." "What?" Aspen and Chester exchanged glances, both seeing shock in each other's eyes. "How is that possible? How could someone as cunning as Colin become li

Colin gazed at Gwyneth's gentle smile, feeling a wave of comfort wash over him. He couldn't help but think that everything felt right when she was by his side. After they returned from their vacation, Colin immediately began changing the company's direction. He followed Gwyneth's suggestions and shifted the company's focus to the ecological agriculture project. This decision caused quite a stir within the company, as many people didn't understand it and even voiced their opposition. Despite that, Colin insisted that they follow Gwyneth's plan. At the company meeting, he said firmly, "I trust Gwyneth. She would never hurt me." Soon, Fuller Group reached a cooperation agreement with Verdant Group. Verdant Group was a young enterprise focused on ecological agriculture development, and its philosophy perfectly aligned with Gwyneth's ideas. "Mr. Fuller, it's a pleasure to work with you. I'm confident our partnership will be very successful," Sheena Campbell, a young representative

Colin felt nothing but disgust and hatred for Aspen. Just hearing her name irritated him. So, he agreed to Gwyneth's proposal without hesitation. "I'll listen to whatever you say. Just do whatever you think is best."Gwyneth felt even more pleased seeing Colin so obedient to her wishes. Over the next few days, she began adjusting the company's business direction and secretly discussed the next steps with Zac.Meanwhile, Colin became increasingly dependent on both the medication and Gwyneth, immersing himself completely in this false paradise, losing all sense of vigilance toward the outside world. Now, whenever Gwyneth acted coquettishly, he agreed to anything she said. Later, Colin brought Gwyneth to a resort villa on the outskirts of the city. Nestled against the mountains and beside the water, it offered beautiful scenery and was far removed from the city's hustle and bustle, with exceptionally fresh air"Colin, this place is so beautiful," Gwyneth said dreamily, holding Co

Colin nestled against Gwyneth's shoulder like a docile kitten, eyes closed as he quietly listened to her soothing voice. Sunlight streamed through the window, bathing them in a warm and tranquil glow. After finishing the poetry collection, Colin suddenly opened his eyes and retrieved an exquisite jewelry box from the bedside drawer. He opened it to reveal a dazzling diamond necklace that sparkled brilliantly under the sunlight—it was clearly worth a fortune."Gwyneth, this is for you," Colin said tenderly, his gaze affectionate as he handed her the necklace.Gwyneth's eyes flickered with surprise, but she quickly masked it with feigned emotions. She protested coquettishly, though her tone carried a hint of playful charm as she said, "Colin, this is too precious. I can't accept it." However, Colin insisted, pressing it into her hands. "Nothing is more valuable than your care. Gwyneth, thank you for staying by my side all this time." Gwyneth's eyes reddened slightly as she pr

When Colin opened his eyes again, he felt like he was waking up from a long nightmare. He moved his body slightly and immediately felt a wave of weakness spread throughout his entire being, his head heavy and dizzy. He instinctively turned his head and saw Gwyneth sitting beside the bed, watching him tenderly. Her eyes had dark circles, and her face showed traces of fatigue. Yet, when she saw him wake up, she immediately broke into a gentle smile.Gwyneth asked softly, "Colin, you're awake! How are you feeling?"Colin looked at her, and in his dazed state, she seemed like his last lifeline. He reached out and gripped her hand tightly, saying in a hoarse voice, "Gwyneth, I feel much better—just a bit weak." Gwyneth squeezed his hand back, her eyes filled with tenderness. "I know it's uncomfortable, but it's okay. Everything will get better, and I'll always be by your side." Colin gazed into Gwyneth's tender eyes, feeling an overwhelming sense of reliance well up inside him. In
