51. Breaking the wall

My heart skipped a beat and my whole body went cold and then hot in a matter of seconds. Swallowing, I grabbed my mobile and my eyes fell on the cream-colored counter.

“She is no one,” I said truthfully, knowing such a person does not exist. “A friend showed me this. Nothing important really.”

Jason raised his eyebrows at me, hiding his doubt behind his wine mask. It reminded me I had to go and pick one for myself.

“Thank you for your hospitality. This place is amazing,” I changed the subject, but the guild from kissing the Chef suffocated me.

Without waiting on any response from Jason, I took the drinks for me and Anna, and hastily left the room, escaping on the terrace.
