12:

Honey.

I shook my head, trying to shake off the dread building inside me at the thought of Carlo being aware that I had remembered what he did.

I needed to do something before he tried to silence me again. I looked down at my hand intertwined with Lorenzo’s hand and wondered if I could trust him to protect me.

But could I really trust him?

He brought an enemy to our home.

There was no way I could confide in him. At least, not until I figured out what was going on.

We got to the bedroom and I went to sit down on the bed, feeling lost. Lorenzo leaned on the closed door and studied me. I didn't look back at him. I didn't want him to know that I had just regained one of my memories.

“Is there something you want me to know?”

I shook my head and looked at the transparent wall of the bedroom. “There is nothing. I just feel tired.”

Lorenzo thought about what I said and nodded. “Okay,” he said. “How about your memories? Have you recalled anything?”

I jolted, too shocked and scared abou

Lorenzo.I sat alone in the bedroom, holding Honey’s portrait. It was hard to believe it had been three months since I last saw her. Three whole months with no idea of her whereabouts. My hands tightened around the picture frame. I bit my finger as the familiar ache in my chest started to grow stronger. We had everything planned out. We could have been a perfect family. A happy one even, but fate had a plan of its own. It took Honey away from me. I had searched for everything for her. Spent a fortune just to hear anything important about what had happened to her. The last message she had sent to me was that she was going to pick up Amelia because her rental car had broken down by the road, but hours passed by, and still, Amelia never saw her. Nobody I had come across saw her when she left, nobody knew what had happened to her. Leo had been crying for his mother. Everyone had felt her absence and I had had to be the one to put on a front that everything would be fine. If I didn't do t

  • Knots & Tie    So I Ran.

We stood there, hugging for what felt like hours before he dropped his hands and moved away from me. He led me to the couch and sat me down. I watched as he walked to the drawer by the bed and picked up a polyester bag. He came back to me and squatted before me. I looked at the polyester bag he was holding in confusion.“What is that?"He raised the bag and looked at it. “I brought you sushi on my way back. Have you eaten since morning?”I shook my head. How will I even have the time to think about food when it seemed my life was on the line? “Here,” he stretched the bag towards me and said with a soft smile. “Eat this. I bought it from a very good restaurant. I am sure you will like it.”My brow furrowed as I looked at the bag. I shifted my attention towards his face and the frown on my face deepened as a similar memory flashed through my mind. In that memory, I saw a man squatting before me just as Lorenzo was. He held out something towards me, but it wasn't food. I remembered the

  • Knots & Tie    You Don’t Get To Say Sorry.

17: You Don’t Get To Say Sorry.Honey.I didn't look back as I ran. Not even once. Immediately, I got to the bedroom, shut the door, and put the lock in place. I looked around the bedroom for a place to hide or for something I could use to protect myself. I was still searching through one of the cabinets in the closet when the door rattled as someone tried to push it open from outside. I froze. My eyes widened as I looked at the closed door. That was Carlo! He must have caught up with me. I ran my hands through my hair and gripped it tightly. What was I even thinking, I should have known Carlo would search the bedroom for me. My heart raced a thousand miles as I kept imagining multiple ways he could kill me. The surrounding area around the Villa was deserted. He could kill me and easily get rid of my body without anyone batting their eye. Lorenzo wouldn't even suspect a thing. Nobody would know what was going to happen to me. I closed my eyes and covered my ears, forcing myself to b

  • Knots & Tie    Run!

Honey.Immediately I left the bedroom, I went straight to the living room and tried to open the door. Every second, Lorenzo was becoming more unpredictable. I needed to leave now before things got worse. I grabbed the doorknob and pulled at it, but it didn't budge. I bit my lip in frustration and pulled again. Still, it didn't budge. A frown made its way to my face as I looked down at the doorknob. Did he really lock the only way out of this Villa? I sighed and stepped away from the door. I stood still and looked around the empty grand living room. There had to be another route I could take to get out of that. I walked aimlessly around the house, searching for another way out of the Villa. I was so focused on getting out that I didn't notice Lorenzo standing before an open freezer in the kitchen. “What are you looking for?” He asked. He closed the freezer and gave me a curious look. I tightened my hand and looked back at him. He had locked me in the bedroom all day without giving a

  • Knots & Tie    Get It Yourself!

Honey.I waited for Lorenzo’s car to leave before making my move. I rushed to the drawer and took out some cash before making my way to the door. I couldn’t stay in the Villa anymore. Not when I had no idea what I was up against. I looked down at the money in my hand and gripped it tightly. I didn't know where I was, but I knew where I was going. The amount of money I had taken should be enough to get to where I wanted to be. But all the hope inside me burned to ashes when I yanked at the doorknob. It didn't budge. In disbelief, I pulled the knob again. Still, it didn't budge.I stepped back in shock.Did Lorenzo lock me up in the bedroom?I shook my head, brushing the thoughts away. There was no way Lorenzo would do that. He had no right to lock me up. I yanked the doorknob forcefully, but despite all my effort, it didn't open. Feeling suffocated, I stepped back and went to sit on the floor beside the bed. He had never locked me up before until now.Why did he do that now?Was h

  • Knots & Tie    What Are You Hiding?

Honey.I turned in the bed and rubbed my face. Slowly, I opened my eyes and observed my surroundings. It took me a while to realize that I was still in bed. I sat up in bed and noticed that Lorebzo was nowhere to be seen. I looked at the clock and noticed it was already past nine in the morning. Somehow, I felt relieved knowing that he must have gone to work. Over the night, I had been worried about him staying behind with me in the Villa due to what I had told him. It was true that I was feeling bored because I was all alone in the Villa with nothing to do, but with Lorenzo around me all the time, I would feel trapped too. His presence always made me feel like a hawk was watching over me at all times. I hated that feeling.I got down from the bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I hadn't brushed the previous night because I had been so tense about Lorenzo asking for sex that I had gone to bed very early. I picked up my toothbrush from the container. I was about to smear
