"No. " replied Trevor. "What? " I asked in a low tune. "I want to grab you and kiss you so badly but I won't. " he said. I felt disappointed and said turning then turned my head around the other way. "Don't feel disappointed. " he said. I instantly felt stupid. 'How could I have begged a random guy to kiss me. Someone I barely know. ' I thought and cursed myself for being shameless. "Ugrh" I silently groaned in frustration. 'How can I be this stupid and so cheap. ' I thought. 'Damn what came over me? ' "Goodnight. " said Trevor then he fell asleep. I closed my eyes and curled up facing the other way in shame. I was just refused a kiss by a guy. 'Trevor must be thinking I've falling for him now. ' I thought. I closed my eyes in anger and was soon fast asleep. I was then tapped on my knee. "Wake up. Good morning. " Trevor said. I pressed my phone. It was quarter past 7:am. "Breakfast stand. I looked to the left and saw Domn seating behind in a red limousinedriving away. As God will have it, a taxi immediately dropped some boys who were hurrying into the club. I jumped in right after the alighted and told the taxi driver to follow the lemo that just left taking a route I showed him. I have never been in a car chase before. Now this was no ordinary car chase but a life chase. I had a strong conviction that Domn and his guys got away with Trevor. "Ma'am that lemo seems not to stop any sooner. I might pull somewhere. I don't want to get into any trouble. " The taxi driver: a young man in his early twenties said to me. ""I'll pay you five thousand naira. " I declared even though I had no dime on. I kept panting heavily as the strange man drove me out of Domn's yard. It took me few minutes to realize I was in a strange cab with an unknown man. I began to shiver and look around scared that I might be caught up in another web of misfortune or rather still be kidnapped. The dark strange man noticed my discomfort and mumbled a "Hello! ". Who ever he was, I was certain he might be less aggressive compared to the touts I escaped from in Domn's house. Who could be this man and what was he doing at such an ungodly hour of the day? I thought and as if he read my mind, he spoke. "Trevor sent me. " he revealed. My mouth was wide opened at the mention of Trevor. "Trevor? " I asked. "Yes. " he replied with a nod. "But I thought that... As.. In.. We.. " I was stuttering in confussion. "Calm down senorita. " he said as we were approaching the city. "Why don't we live the moment? " Trevor asked me. I starred at him in disbelief wondering what he was driving at. "Listen. " he quickly said. "Tommorow, we shall get on a new luxury bus and continue our journey to GreenLand but right now, can we just relax and rest. " he said while I nodded in understanding. We needed to rest especially after our scary ordeal with Domn and his boys. "You are hurt. " I told Trevor after noticing his bruised arm. "Nothing to worry about. " he quickly said shoving off the issue. "You are hurt because of me. Domn and his boys manhandled you because of me. I am terribly sorry. " I said. "Don't bother Ella. We've talked about this right? All we need right now is rest and resources to continue our journey. " Trevor said. "Speaking on resources, the new OWEN bus leaves today and probably with our luggages. " I said. I began to tremble almost immediately as Trevor's lips fell on mine. I shut my eyes then kissed him back and drifted back almost immediately. "I'm sorry. " he apologized with his head lowered. "It's okay. " I managed to reply after several seconds of silence. I took the towel, wrapped it around me and ran out of the pool. As far as we were both concerned, the swimming lessons are over before it begins. Trevor got out of the pool and joined me in the suite about thirty minutes later. I was properly dressed and sipping a cup of coffee sitting by the edge of the bed. He dashed to the bathroom and came out then proceeded to change his clothes. "You can eat if you are hungry. " he said pointing to the sumptuous tray of meal placed on our bed by the hotel attendants. I nodded and continued sipping my coffee. "I'll be right back. " he told me after getting dressed.

I wasn't scared of going back home at the moment. I wasn't feeling guilty anymore. I ran because I got scared after I thought my father had died when I attacked him and at the moment, I was no longer scared of anything. This weird journey had opened my eyes to the reality of life. Now, I wasn't running away from homicide but I was running to get a life. Back at Numan, I had always felt trapped and never considered what I might do with my life but now, I can feel a new wave of
