" Mommy am I going to be okay?" Louisa asks as I tuck her in.
We had finally arrived home after a brief, suspiciously quiet, tiring drive.
Seriously, the silence made the journey longer than it should.
" Yes baby but the doctor said for you to be okay, all you have to do is sleep, eat, draw and sleep some more" I answered with a smile.
" Yaaaay" she cheered but it ached my heart when I heard how weak it sounded.
" Go to sleep cupcake" I whispered and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
" Mmmmm" she moaned softly and slowly shut her eyes in an attempt to fall asleep.
I noticed her little winks and sighs and unknowingly, a chuckle escaped my lips and I began using my thumb to trace her plump cheek outline.
" Mommy, what about daddy?"

Iris's p.o.v.-----The tunes for Unconditionally by Katy Perry was being played so softly by the DJ and it's lull filled the entire hall.The room was slightly beginning to get filled up by business associates, family members and even the press.Clicks from cameras and chatters from people engaged in discussions were prominent in the enclosed space, filling the area with excitement and buzz.I stood at the entrance and surveyed the black and blue themed hall in awe and gloom. How did I not connect this before? I had met my parents employer when I was a little kid but ever since then, I bore too much hate to even think of seeing him again. Plus it's not like they'll let me meet their boss, they felt like I'd spill the beans if granted opportunity. And after they resigned, what business did I have with him. He was well known and all but he was never around Los Alamos, he just had workers all over handling the job for him. He and his wife were just, I don't know... Invincible? This explains why my parents seemed indifferent when I told them of my employment. Asking if I was happy with the job and not if it's profitable. But I'm literally the dumbest thing I can think of. The striking resemblance to Louisa? Mr Brooks McConnell? I'm so stupid!
