Lyra's POV

I stood frozen in that doorway for exactly three seconds before backing out of Maya's hospital room, my mind racing with possibilities. The image was burned into my brain, Professor Ronan sitting intimately on Maya's bed, their hands intertwined like lovers, the heated look in his eyes as he leaned toward her.

Perfect. Absolutely fucking perfect.

My heels clicked against the hospital floor as I walked quickly toward the elevators, pulling out my phone. The rage that had been simmering in my chest for weeks was now boiling over into something much more dangerous, cold, calculated fury.

How dare she? How dare Maya waltz into our pack, into our school, and steal everything that should have been mine? First Ashen chose her over me, now she had both Jaxon Cross and Professor Ronan wrapped around her little finger. The hottest guy on campus and the most desired professor at Blackstone University, both practically drooling over some pathetic nobody.
