LOGINALEXANDER
When Christina saw that I wasn’t crying, throwing tantrums, or having an emotional outburst, she exhaled in relief.
If she knew how helpless I truly felt, and the realization I had come to accept, she would not have been so relieved.
Then Christina said, “Since you can’t go to the dining table, I’ll bring your meals here.”
I watched her walk out of the room and pursed my lips tightly. When she returned, she came with several maids carrying plates of food. Soon, everything was laid out, and as I reclined on the bed, I was fed.
Christina sat directly opposite me and fed me herself. I opened my mouth from time to time and ate in silence. When I had eaten enough, I stopped. Christina and the maids then cleared the plates, and after she left, I decided to close my eyes.
I barely slept when a violent tug yanked me awake. My head buzzed, and through my blurred vision I saw a face hovering above me. The heavy breath fanning across my skin chased away the last traces of sleep. When I finally focused, I saw Alpha Damon—his face cold, his eyes menacing.
I shuddered.
“You truly are a bringer of doom,” Alpha Damon said icily. “My warriors have never suffered such defeat—not until I married you.”
I let out a bitter laugh, then curled my lips into an evil smile. “Then divorce me.”
He shoved me hard. My body slammed against the bed, and the pain from the impact made my head spin. Then I heard him sneer.
“I have always wondered why those envoys were so interested in you when you are not even beautiful and are utterly disgusting…”
I had wondered the same thing. The palace was filled with beautiful women, and most of the slaves were carefully groomed to entertain envoys. Compared to them, I was nothing remarkable. Yet, strangely, those envoys kept asking for me.
“One of them told me that after sleeping with you, he became strangely powerful. Alexander, do you know what that means?” Alpha Damon asked, his gaze sharp and cruel.
A chill ran down my spine. Flustered, I shook my head and replied, “That is impossible. It makes no sense.”
To my shock, Alpha Damon chuckled.
“I doubted it too…”
For a brief second, my heart calmed at his words. But the next sentence shattered every shred of hope I had left.
“After the night we slept together, I felt my spirit lift. I became more energized… and my wolf grew stronger.”
He suddenly fell silent, which only made me more uneasy. My fists clenched as panic rose inside me.
“You are not planning to send me to those men, are you?” I asked anxiously. “They will rape me to death.”
The sound of my own voice felt foreign in my ears.
He looked at me without the slightest trace of remorse and answered, “That is exactly what I intend to do. I want to know whether my suspicion is correct.”
My heart trembled, and all hope drained from me. I looked at Alpha Damon helplessly, but he showed no emotion at all. Without even sparing me another glance, he said,
“You are about to render a great service to the pack. It should be an honor to make the warriors stronger.”
His words dripped with ridicule. There was no honor in being passed from one stranger’s bed to another. It was not service—it was humiliation.
As I watched him turn to leave, a thought suddenly flashed through my mind.
With the last ounce of strength left in me, I jumped down from the bed, nearly stumbling, but I quickly regained my balance. I moved to the window and climbed onto the balcony.
Alpha Damon stood there, looking at me with a smile that did not reach his eyes. He did not panic at all; he simply remained there, expressionless.
My heart pounded wildly. I clenched my fists and glared at him anxiously. His lips curled into a sneer as he mocked me.
“I thought you were about to commit suicide. You seemed so decisive a few minutes ago. Why are you still standing there instead of jumping to your death? Is dying really that difficult?”
My thoughts instantly became chaotic. As I stared into his eyes, I realized at once that my life and death meant nothing to him. In that moment, I understood how foolish I had been to think I could threaten him with suicide.
I watched him flick his sleeves and turn toward the door. Just as he was about to leave, I shouted firmly, “I will jump to my death if you insist on sending me into the beds of different men...”
He paused briefly and looked at me with the same blank expression. Then he pulled the door open and walked away.
I stood there as the wind brushed against my bare skin. The slam of the door was a cruel reminder that he did not care at all.
My eyes grew misty. I looked down and realized I was only several meters above the ground, not high enough for the fall to kill me. At worst, I would end up with broken arms or other injuries. But would that stop those men from taking turns with me?
If they could violate me while I was unconscious, they would do the same even if I were battered and broken. At that moment, I abandoned the thought completely. I climbed back into the room and made up my mind to stab myself to death, or perhaps drink poison instead.
With that decision, my eyes turned cold as I searched the room. There was no knife, nor anything sharp enough to pierce my skin. I headed for the door, determined to make my way to the kitchen.
When I stepped out of the room, the guard stationed outside did not react. I went straight toward the kitchen. As I passed Christina, her face was creased with worry. She must have seen the wild, desperate resolve in my eyes and known exactly what I intended to do.
ALEXANDERI didn’t know either. It just felt like nothing I ever wished for came true. I prayed every day for my father’s love, but I was never loved by my own father. I wished for a peaceful childhood, but my stepfather tortured me constantly. My dreams and hopes for a better future were always shattered by reality.I looked away from the window and sat on my bed before saying to Christina, “I’m hungry.”She didn’t stay for a reply. Christina quietly turned and left, then returned a short while later with my breakfast. After I finished eating, I expected the maids to drag me to the bathroom, scrub me clean, force clothes onto me, and then take me to the high platform where I would be crowned. But to my shock, Chris leaped through the window and landed inside my room. He looked at me with a grin on his face. Glancing outside, I guessed he had jumped over thirty feet to get in.“You shouldn’t resist. Just go along with his plans. You’ll be leaving the pack at dusk tomorrow,” Chris said
ALEXANDERChristina’s words caught me off guard. I stared at her in surprise, and when she noticed she had my full attention, she continued excitedly.“That was the reason Alpha Damon started visiting your home. I don’t know what went wrong for him to fall in love with Tracy instead of you.”I pressed my lips together and tried to remember. When I was five years old, whenever my stepmother, Jezebel, starved me, Alpha Damon would sneak into our house and bring me food. It went on like that for months. But after he stopped my stepmother from selling me off, everything changed. He refused to speak to me. He no longer bothered with me, and even when I tried to talk to him, he ignored me.But all of that was in the past.Especially after I became fatter, he would look at me with so much disgust that I no longer dared to appear before him.I looked at Christina and said, “There is nothing you can say that will change my mind. I have no feelings for Alpha Damon.”Christina stared at me silen
ALEXANDER“Why are you doing all this?” I asked Alpha Damon. He clearly hadn’t expected the question. Surprise creased his face, and for a moment, he said nothing.I held his gaze, then shook my head.“You may be able to fool everyone else, but you’ll never fool me. You don’t have feelings for me, and all this won’t change anything. I think you should end this game you’re playing. My father was here earlier, but neither he nor anyone else can change my mind. If I get the chance, I will leave the pack.”Alpha Damon’s face darkened, and he glared at me.“Why?” he demanded. “Why can’t I make up for the mistakes I made? Why?”I sneered at him.“One time is a mistake. Twice is not. Repeatedly? That’s intention. That’s exactly what you chose to do. So stop calling it a mistake.”His jaw tightened. Then he let out a harsh, bitter laugh.“It wasn’t a mistake,” he said coldly. “I forced you to sleep with those men. I forced myself on you. None of it was a mistake. It was all exactly what I wan
ALEXANDERI was shocked by Chris’s confidence. I looked at him doubtfully, but he said nothing more. Instead, he leaped away and disappeared into the midst of the flowers.I didn’t dwell much on his words. Turning around, I returned to my room. The lights were out, but with my sharp eyesight, I could still make out a silhouette standing by the window. From his styled hair, the knife tattoo on the back of his neck, and his posture, I already knew it was Damon. I was surprised that he had been watching Chris and me talk in the garden all along, and I was certain he had heard everything we discussed.“What are you doing in my room?” I asked, uneasy at being alone with him there. He didn’t turn to look at me. He simply retorted, “You really couldn’t wait to leave the pack with my uncle, could you? Are you always this desperate for a taste of new dick?”Anger flared inside me at his words, and I sneered. “I couldn’t wait to leave the pack because of your lousy skills in bed. Your uncle is
ALEXANDERI hadn’t left my room for days, and Alpha Damon hadn’t come either. By noon on the third day, Christina looked at me with pleading eyes and said softly, “My Lady, why don’t you give Alpha Damon another chance? I have watched him grow. He hurt you and acted rashly because of the pain of losing Tracy, but he has healed and become a better man. If you give him a second chance, he will treat you better.”I looked at Christina and asked, “Why did he blame me for Tracy’s death? Am I not a victim too?”Christina pursed her lips, but I didn’t let the matter go. With a sneer, I said, “Everyone hated me for a death I didn’t cause. Do you know what it means to grow up worse than an orphan?”Her eyes widened in shock at my words, but I didn’t give her time to respond. Anger poured out of me as I continued, “It means having a father, yet growing up without fatherly love. It means having a family, yet being treated worse than a slave in your own home.”My emotions surged, my chest tighten
ALEXANDERI cracked a grin and shot back, “Are you sure you can do it?”A frown settled on my father’s face as he replied irritably, “If you have something to ask, then ask it quickly. Why are you wasting time talking nonsense?”Even so, I caught the hint of wariness in his eyes. I didn’t care. Lifting my chin, I made my bold request.“I want you to send me away from the pack—to somewhere the pack has no influence, somewhere no one can reach me, somewhere no one will recognize me.”My father’s expression darkened at once, and he snapped, “Foolish child! Don’t ever think of such a thing. You will remain in this pack until the day you grow old and die. Don’t even dream of leaving.”With that, he turned away angrily and let out a disdainful snort. “What a waste. I should never have come here. She has completely ruined my mood.”I didn’t dwell much on my father’s visit. At dawn the next morning, Christina came to my room as usual. After breakfast, she informed me, “You will be having your
