LOGINALEXANDER
I was stunned by his reaction, but what left me completely speechless was when he reached out, grabbed my arm, and pulled me toward him, making me stumble.
He stepped between Chris and me. Staring at his back, I heard him say calmly to Chris, “Alex is my wife.”
Chris didn’t look surprised. He must have seen me standing beside Damon earlier. But what troubled me was this—was that the reason Damon had invited me to the podium? Did he already know that I was fated to his uncle as well?
The realization sent a chill through my heart. I scoffed at the foolish hope I had allowed myself to feel after standing beside him in public.
Chris looked at Damon calmly, then said with a smile, “I’ve heard many rumors about you and her. Word on the street is that you don’t love her, that your heart belongs to a missing woman named Tracy. I also heard that you never officially married her and swore never to make her the Luna of the pack…”
The more I listened, the more shocked I became. But Chris said nothing about Damon turning me into a sex slave, or sending me to the envoys’ beds to satisfy them.
I glanced at him weakly, wondering whether he had intentionally left that out, or if he truly didn’t know. I shook my head. That seemed impossible—how could something like that be hidden from him?
“All of that is baseless rumor. If you have any questions, you should hear the truth from me first,” Alpha Damon replied. Then he turned to me. “Return to your palace.”
I didn’t want to leave, but one look at Alpha Damon’s cold stare and tightly pressed lips told me I couldn’t defy him. So I turned and walked out of the room without looking back.
That night, I was alone in my room when Alpha Damon came to see me. As the light fell across his face, I saw the coldness in his eyes as he stared at me.
“Do you like my uncle?” Alpha Damon asked condescendingly.
I looked at him, then smirked. Running my fingers through my soft hair, I replied unhurriedly, “Of course I do. Who wouldn’t love such a gentle man? A man who knows how to speak, who is endearing, and emotionally mature...”
Before I could say more, his hand clamped around my neck, cutting off the air in my throat. My eyes widened as Alpha Damon forced me down onto the bed, looming over me with cold, merciless eyes.
He sneered. “You really can’t stop being a whore, can you? Even without a wolf, you still can’t settle for one man. You seem to enjoy having men pass you around. Disgusting.”
Then he let go. The fury burning in his eyes was strangely satisfying. I smacked my lips, tempted to provoke him further, but the sting in my throat and its dry soreness kept me silent.
I took a deep breath.
He scowled at me. “My uncle wants to mark you as his mate and take you away.”
At his words, I stiffened in shock. When I recovered, I sat up immediately, my eyes wide with disbelief—and relief. Though this place was supposed to be my home, I had never truly belonged in the pack castle. I had always dreamed of seeing the world, of leaving the pack behind, but my stepmother had made that impossible.
“You want to leave with him?”
I didn’t even think before the answer slipped out.
“Yes.”
The air in the room grew heavy, and I could feel his anger prickling against my skin. I looked at Alpha Damon’s face—his bloodshot eyes, his tightly pressed lips, the cruel expression twisting his features—but I didn’t care.
I wasn’t afraid of him anymore.
So I looked straight at him and decided to provoke him even more.
“If I ever had to choose between you and him, I would choose him over you. Again and again.”
Alpha Damon let out a bitter laugh and reached for my throat, but before his hand could close around it, he stopped himself and pulled back. Taking a step away, he forced his emotions down until he looked much calmer than before. Then, with a smile that made my skin crawl, he said, “Do you really think I’ll let you be with him? Stop dreaming. I will never let you leave this pack with him. You’re staying here, Alex, and no one will take you away from me. You’re far too useful for satisfying my warriors and making them stronger.”
My breath caught in my throat, and fury burned inside me. He must have noticed the darkness on my face because his smirk only widened before he turned and walked away.
That night, I couldn’t stop thinking about how to escape this prison.
Christina’s visits had become expected, but I was stunned when my father came to see me.
He wore a broad smile as he stared at me, then suddenly burst out, “Good child, good child!”
Something about the way he praised me felt wrong. I looked at him suspiciously. He held my gaze, and a strange grin spread across his face before he gave a low chuckle and declared, “The Moon Goddess is favoring me.”
“Dad, what is wrong with you?” I asked, unable to keep watching him behave so strangely. It frightened me and sent chills down my spine.
He looked at me heavily and said, “Both Chris and Alpha Damon are bonded to you. With them as my sons-in-law, who would dare challenge me? Who would not tremble at the sound of my name? You haven’t just made me powerful—you’ve made me feel like I could rule the world…”
He looked at me with deep satisfaction before adding, “Alex, you are very special, and you’ve made me very proud. Tell me, what do you want me to do for you? Say it, and I’ll do it.”
I wasn’t surprised that my father had turned the situation into something about himself. There had never been a day when he wasn’t selfish.
ALEXANDERI didn’t know either. It just felt like nothing I ever wished for came true. I prayed every day for my father’s love, but I was never loved by my own father. I wished for a peaceful childhood, but my stepfather tortured me constantly. My dreams and hopes for a better future were always shattered by reality.I looked away from the window and sat on my bed before saying to Christina, “I’m hungry.”She didn’t stay for a reply. Christina quietly turned and left, then returned a short while later with my breakfast. After I finished eating, I expected the maids to drag me to the bathroom, scrub me clean, force clothes onto me, and then take me to the high platform where I would be crowned. But to my shock, Chris leaped through the window and landed inside my room. He looked at me with a grin on his face. Glancing outside, I guessed he had jumped over thirty feet to get in.“You shouldn’t resist. Just go along with his plans. You’ll be leaving the pack at dusk tomorrow,” Chris said
ALEXANDERChristina’s words caught me off guard. I stared at her in surprise, and when she noticed she had my full attention, she continued excitedly.“That was the reason Alpha Damon started visiting your home. I don’t know what went wrong for him to fall in love with Tracy instead of you.”I pressed my lips together and tried to remember. When I was five years old, whenever my stepmother, Jezebel, starved me, Alpha Damon would sneak into our house and bring me food. It went on like that for months. But after he stopped my stepmother from selling me off, everything changed. He refused to speak to me. He no longer bothered with me, and even when I tried to talk to him, he ignored me.But all of that was in the past.Especially after I became fatter, he would look at me with so much disgust that I no longer dared to appear before him.I looked at Christina and said, “There is nothing you can say that will change my mind. I have no feelings for Alpha Damon.”Christina stared at me silen
ALEXANDER“Why are you doing all this?” I asked Alpha Damon. He clearly hadn’t expected the question. Surprise creased his face, and for a moment, he said nothing.I held his gaze, then shook my head.“You may be able to fool everyone else, but you’ll never fool me. You don’t have feelings for me, and all this won’t change anything. I think you should end this game you’re playing. My father was here earlier, but neither he nor anyone else can change my mind. If I get the chance, I will leave the pack.”Alpha Damon’s face darkened, and he glared at me.“Why?” he demanded. “Why can’t I make up for the mistakes I made? Why?”I sneered at him.“One time is a mistake. Twice is not. Repeatedly? That’s intention. That’s exactly what you chose to do. So stop calling it a mistake.”His jaw tightened. Then he let out a harsh, bitter laugh.“It wasn’t a mistake,” he said coldly. “I forced you to sleep with those men. I forced myself on you. None of it was a mistake. It was all exactly what I wan
ALEXANDERI was shocked by Chris’s confidence. I looked at him doubtfully, but he said nothing more. Instead, he leaped away and disappeared into the midst of the flowers.I didn’t dwell much on his words. Turning around, I returned to my room. The lights were out, but with my sharp eyesight, I could still make out a silhouette standing by the window. From his styled hair, the knife tattoo on the back of his neck, and his posture, I already knew it was Damon. I was surprised that he had been watching Chris and me talk in the garden all along, and I was certain he had heard everything we discussed.“What are you doing in my room?” I asked, uneasy at being alone with him there. He didn’t turn to look at me. He simply retorted, “You really couldn’t wait to leave the pack with my uncle, could you? Are you always this desperate for a taste of new dick?”Anger flared inside me at his words, and I sneered. “I couldn’t wait to leave the pack because of your lousy skills in bed. Your uncle is
ALEXANDERI hadn’t left my room for days, and Alpha Damon hadn’t come either. By noon on the third day, Christina looked at me with pleading eyes and said softly, “My Lady, why don’t you give Alpha Damon another chance? I have watched him grow. He hurt you and acted rashly because of the pain of losing Tracy, but he has healed and become a better man. If you give him a second chance, he will treat you better.”I looked at Christina and asked, “Why did he blame me for Tracy’s death? Am I not a victim too?”Christina pursed her lips, but I didn’t let the matter go. With a sneer, I said, “Everyone hated me for a death I didn’t cause. Do you know what it means to grow up worse than an orphan?”Her eyes widened in shock at my words, but I didn’t give her time to respond. Anger poured out of me as I continued, “It means having a father, yet growing up without fatherly love. It means having a family, yet being treated worse than a slave in your own home.”My emotions surged, my chest tighten
ALEXANDERI cracked a grin and shot back, “Are you sure you can do it?”A frown settled on my father’s face as he replied irritably, “If you have something to ask, then ask it quickly. Why are you wasting time talking nonsense?”Even so, I caught the hint of wariness in his eyes. I didn’t care. Lifting my chin, I made my bold request.“I want you to send me away from the pack—to somewhere the pack has no influence, somewhere no one can reach me, somewhere no one will recognize me.”My father’s expression darkened at once, and he snapped, “Foolish child! Don’t ever think of such a thing. You will remain in this pack until the day you grow old and die. Don’t even dream of leaving.”With that, he turned away angrily and let out a disdainful snort. “What a waste. I should never have come here. She has completely ruined my mood.”I didn’t dwell much on my father’s visit. At dawn the next morning, Christina came to my room as usual. After breakfast, she informed me, “You will be having your
