ALEXANDER

Christina’s words lingered in my mind, haunting me for the rest of the day. Even during lunch, when I noticed that far more meat than usual had been served at the table, I couldn’t shake off the strange unease settling in my chest. The feeling only worsened whenever I caught the palace maids whispering among themselves, their suspicious glances constantly drifting in my direction.

At first, I tried to dismiss it as mere paranoia.

But when night came, Christina entered my room and said, “My Lady, we need to prepare you tonight.”

I frowned, uneasiness crawling deeper into my stomach. “Is there something I should know?” I asked carefully.

Christina visibly startled. Her eyes flickered for a brief moment, and I knew she understood exactly what I meant. Yet she pretended otherwise and simply replied, “The maids will be here any moment now.”

Without waiting for another question, she hurried out of the room.

I didn’t stop her.

Soon, several maids entered and escorted me to the large bathtub. They bathed me thoroughly, washing and cleaning me in silence. Though embarrassment burned through me, my mind remained consumed by the strange events of the day and the growing sense that something was terribly wrong.

When they were finished, I reached for my undergarments, but one of the maids stopped me and instead held out a thin nightgown. It barely reached my thighs.

“My Lady, this is what you should wear tonight,” she said.

I didn’t argue. I didn’t even ask why. I simply obeyed, pulling the nightgown over my body before climbing onto the bed.

The moment I did, everything changed.

My wrists were suddenly seized, and before I could react, the cold bite of metal snapped around them.

Handcuffs.

Panic exploded inside me.

I thrashed against the bed, my eyes darting wildly around the room as fear tightened its grip on my chest. “What’s going on?” I cried out, my voice trembling. “Why are you locking me to the bed? Can someone explain? What are you planning to do?”

My chest felt unbearably heavy, as though fear itself was crushing me. The air in the room turned suffocating, making it hard to breathe.

Then, in the midst of my struggle, I felt it.

A presence.

I turned sharply toward the window and saw a silhouette standing only a few feet away. The wall lamps cast a long shadow across the floor. Though his face was hidden behind a mask, I didn’t need to see it to know who he was.

Alpha Damon.

“Why are you wearing a mask?” I asked him.

He didn’t answer. Not a single word.

Instead, he climbed onto the bed and forced my legs apart. His touch was cold, mechanical, almost careless, and when I searched his eyes for even the smallest trace of emotion, all I found was something distant and unreadable. Beneath that blank expression, I thought I caught a flicker of disgust, though he seemed determined to hide it.

Humiliation burned through me, sharp and unbearable, yet my body betrayed me in ways that only deepened my shame. Before I could gather my thoughts, he had already leaned over me, caging me in with his arms braced on either side, leaving me trapped beneath him.

I squeezed my eyes shut as pain tore through me, tangled with overwhelming sensation so intense that I could barely make sense of it. A gasp escaped my lips, and my body tensed helplessly beneath him.

The force of his movements only grew harsher. I writhed against the mattress, my breathing uneven, panic and pain rising together until I could no longer contain it.

“Argh—umm… you’re hurting me,” I cried out. “Slow down… please.”

He didn’t listen.

He continued with reckless disregard until, at last, a low groan escaped him and his body slumped briefly against mine. Then he pulled away without a word and disappeared into the bathroom.

All my strength had drained from me. Exhaustion swallowed everything else, and I let my eyes fall shut.

When I woke the next morning, the handcuffs were gone. Someone had cleaned me up, and the sheets had been changed.

I pushed myself out of bed, but the ache between my legs made every movement difficult. Slowly, I made my way to the bathroom, washed up, and stepped back into the room.

Christina was there, waiting for me.

“My lady, we prepared this soup for you. It will help ease the pain you are feeling,” she said with a warm smile.

I reached out and took the bowl. In one gulp, I drank it all, then flashed her a smile. “Thank you very much.”

After Christina took back the plate, she left my room. I lay on the bed and soon fell asleep.

Later, I woke to the sound of two maids arguing among themselves. The moment they noticed I was awake, they abruptly stopped talking. I looked at them, and they both forced smiles.

“I will go and get Christina,” one of them said before quickly leaving.

When she returned, Christina came with her. Christina looked at me and said, “My Lady, breakfast is ready. Come and eat.”

I nodded and followed her to the dining hall. While I was eating, I could sense the tense atmosphere around me.

I looked at Christina curiously. “Is there something I should know?”

Christina hesitated before replying, “I am worried about your reaction…”

I shrugged. “You shouldn’t think too much. If there is something you want to tell me, just say it.”

She lowered her gaze before speaking. “The pack has been invaded from the northern border, but that is not even the greatest threat you face. Rumors are spreading through the pack that you are a witch, and you know the pack’s history with witches…”

The moment she mentioned rumors, I stopped listening. Instead, I focused on the food in front of me. Christina must have noticed my lack of interest, because she gave up trying to explain further.

After I was done eating, I rose to my feet and walked back to my room.

Not long after, Christina came in and said, “My Lady, spending all your days in your room would not be good for you. You should go around the palace and see what it looks like. I think you would really enjoy the sightseeing.”

ALEXANDERShe lunged at me and slammed into my body, sending me rolling across the ground. The impact rattled my bones, and I struggled to push myself back up, my whole body trembling. She looked down at me with scorn. “You’re such a weakling, and yet you dare to be with someone like Chris?”My legs ached as I forced myself upright. A sharp, itching pain crawled along my arm, and when I glanced at the bruise, I saw with shock that it was already healing.I clenched my fists and raised them, taking a fighting stance. At the sight of me, she merely shook her head and sneered in disdain. “Posing.”Before I could react, my vision blurred. My legs gave out beneath me as an invisible force hurled me backward, and I crashed hard into a tree. Her mocking laughter rang out. “You are weak, a useless thing. And if you think Chris is coming to save you, you’re deluding yourself. He’ll never show up here. He’s busy, and he won’t make it in time—even if you drop dead.”Her words made my heart sink.

  • LUNA   Chapter 50: As You Wish

ALEXANDERThe dusk sunlight drifted into my room from the horizon as I slowly opened my eyes, my body still sore and tired. Memories of him taking me again and again made heat rise to my face. It had been thrilling, intoxicating, and deeply pleasurable. I had never felt so cared for, so thoroughly cherished, especially in the way he had pleased me.“What are you thinking?” his deep voice asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.I quickly pulled the duvet over my face, utterly embarrassed. If he knew what I had been thinking, what would he think of me? But perhaps I was overthinking it. He simply acted as though he had no idea what was on my mind.“You shouldn’t wish to see what is hidden in the basement. It is terrifying. That is why no one dares to audaciously barge into my house,” I heard Chris say.I lowered the duvet and looked around, only to realize that he had already left my room. I had no desire to get out of bed, so I lay there quietly for a while. Eventually, I forced myself

ALEXANDERI looked at her and immediately understood what they were planning. They wanted to lure me outside, kidnap me, and use me to threaten Chris. How could I possibly fall for such cheap provocation? My brain wasn’t rotten.I chuckled, then looked at her boldly. “Why don’t you come in? This wolfless girl you keep mocking can’t step outside because I’m afraid, right?”I saw her expression change instantly. Surprise flickered in her eyes—she clearly hadn’t expected that response. Her face soon turned cold, and she sneered.“Weakling, I don’t know what he sees in you. With that savage behavior, you won’t live to see tomorrow. Once he gets bored of you, he’ll kill you too, just like the others.”At that moment, I had no interest in listening to her ramblings. I turned away, climbed onto my bed, and lay down quietly, closing my eyes as if to sleep.“Weakling! Come and face me!” she screamed at the top of her voice. “Come and show me how capable you are!”But I ignored her completely,

ALEXANDERWe got into the car and slowly drove off. Chris didn’t say a word, even after we had covered a kilometre. The man who had slaughtered everyone in the bar was still following us.I tensed nervously, but Chris remained calm. He showed no reaction, even as we headed toward the centre of the city.“Are we going to let him follow us?” I asked. I could barely recognise my own voice. I hadn’t expected my first visit to the city to be so dangerous and unnerving.Chris didn’t answer my question. Instead, he simply chuckled, raised an eyebrow, and asked teasingly, “Are you scared?”I took a deep breath. Was I scared? Of course I was. Still, I reminded him, “What about him?”Chris leaned back casually, one arm resting on the wheel, and replied in an even tone, “Let him run around a little. When the time comes—”My face tightened with worry and my muscles stayed tense, but Chris was unbelievably calm. He didn’t look like someone being followed by a formidable enemy. I glanced at his com

ALEXANDERThen, he suddenly smiled at me, his eyes narrowing slightly as he said smoothly, “Sorry for the oversight, Mrs. Chris. Welcome to my humble bar; it is a great honor to have you here.”His reaction, and the ease with which he adapted, left me speechless for a moment. But I quickly recovered and replied, “Thank you.”He finally turned to Chris. “Can we now go to my office, my lord?”Chris grinned. “Naturally.”He rose to his feet and was about to walk away when he turned back to me. “Come with us.”For a moment, I did not know what to do. I looked at the big boss’s face and saw it darken, though he quickly forced a smile and said, “Pardon my manners, Mrs. Chris, please come with us.”I could tell he did not want me there, but my instincts kept screaming at me to follow them. So I walked behind them. I could feel eyes sizing me up, but I kept looking ahead, pretending not to notice. With every step we took, I heard the big boss say to Chris, “I never expected you to actually fa

ALEXANDERThe glow from the street lamps spilled softly through the car windows as we sat there, and getting out felt like a decision I wasn’t ready to make.I glanced over to find Chris stepping out beside me, and my eyebrows knitted in question. He bent down and looked up at me, asking, “Are you going to stay in there?”A loud voice cut through the quiet: “Chris, you’re here!”A man, wearing only a singlet, swaggered toward us, and three others followed him out of the doorway. That was when I finally stepped from the car. He was talking to Chris, but as soon as his eyes landed on me, he widened in shock and blurted, “Motherfucker! Chris, where the hell did you get a girl like this?”A thin smile tugged at the corner of my mouth as his gaze lingered shamelessly, ignoring Chris who stood right beside him. Before I could guess what he intended, he stepped closer with a lecherous grin, his arm outstretched. “Hello pretty, everyone calls me Pascal, but you can call me husband.”The tensi
