ALEXANDER

“Why are you doing all this?” I asked Alpha Damon.

He clearly hadn’t expected the question. Surprise creased his face, and for a moment, he said nothing.

I held his gaze, then shook my head.

“You may be able to fool everyone else, but you’ll never fool me. You don’t have feelings for me, and all this won’t change anything. I think you should end this game you’re playing. My father was here earlier, but neither he nor anyone else can change my mind. If I get the chance, I will leave the pack.”

Alpha Damon’s face darkened, and he glared at me.

“Why?” he demanded. “Why can’t I make up for the mistakes I made? Why?”

I sneered at him.

“One time is a mistake. Twice is not. Repeatedly? That’s intention. That’s exactly what you chose to do. So stop calling it a mistake.”

His jaw tightened. Then he let out a harsh, bitter laugh.

“It wasn’t a mistake,” he said coldly. “I forced you to sleep with those men. I forced myself on you. None of it was a mistake. It was all exactly what I wanted to do. Yes. But that still doesn’t mean I’ll let you go, Alexander. I will never let you go.”

He stared at me with icy finality.

I had never had any hope to begin with, so his words did nothing to me. I simply lay back on the bed and said softly, “I want to be alone.”

I heard the crack of bones shifting, but I didn’t even bother to look at him.

Over the next few days, Alpha Damon didn’t come to my room. Instead, Christina brought me news, telling me that he and Chris had nearly come to blows because of me.

I could hardly believe it.

Then Christina said, “The invaders are willing to negotiate with the pack. They’re offering trade. All they want is a place to establish their own pack, and they’re willing to swear a blood oath not to start any aggression against us.”

I looked at her and replied, “I’m not interested in that.”

Christina simply nodded. After clearing away the plates, she left.

That night, Christina took me to the garden to meet Chris again.

His lips curled into a smile before he suddenly asked, “Do you want to see your stepsister again?”

My eyes widened in shock, and I blurted out, “Is Tracy still alive?”

Chris chuckled darkly and sneered. “She was never dead. She has always been alive.”

Then he shook his head and added, “I don’t know what Damon ever saw in your sister. You’re prettier than she is, much stronger too… and your wolf scent…”

He inhaled deeply, a blissful look crossing his face, then muttered, “Intoxicating.”

A grin spread across his lips. “I can’t wait to take you away.”

“You may never get the chance.”

Alpha Damon’s cold voice cut through the air from several meters away.

Step by step, he approached us. I turned toward him, wondering how long he had been standing there, listening.

Chris showed no sign of anger. He only grinned and replied, “Never say never.”

Alpha Damon stopped beside me. He didn’t even glance in my direction as he declared confidently, “She is my wife, and though she may also be your mate, I have no intention of sharing her with you.”

Chris looked at him and shot back, “What if you were forced to choose between her and Tracy? Who would you pick—her, or your childhood sweetheart?”

It was the second time I had seen Alpha Damon lose his composure in front of him.

He immediately asked, his voice sharp with impatience, “Tracy is alive? Where is she? Tell me where she is!”

He stepped forward, closing the distance between them, and demanded, “Quickly! Tell me—where is she? Where is Tracy?”

Chris chuckled and looked at him mockingly. “She isn’t dead. I know exactly where she is.”

Alpha Damon began to plead. “Please, tell me. Whatever you want, I’ll do it. Name your price—my throne as Alpha of the pack, anything. Uncle, I’ll give it to you. Just tell me, where is Tracy?”

Chris smirked. “Are you sure?”

“Cut the crap and tell me where she is,” Alpha Damon snapped.

Chris turned to me with an evil grin before replying, “Hand Alexander over to me, and then I’ll tell you where Tracy is.”

Alpha Damon stiffened. Then he looked at me, then back at Chris.

I was stunned by his hesitation. I had thought he would agree without a second thought.

Suddenly, Alpha Damon laughed and mocked, “I should have expected this. You don’t know where she is.”

Chris chuckled confidently. “I never claim what I cannot do. I’ll bring her back to the pack myself, and then you’ll have to choose between Tracy and Alexander. You’d better make your decision before it’s too late.”

With that, Chris leaped into the air and vanished from sight.

I turned to Alpha Damon, who stood in silence. From the deep furrow in his brows, I could tell he believed every word Chris had just said.

At that moment, I knew my stepsister had never been dead.

But one strange thought lingered in my mind: would he really choose me over her?

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out.

I laughed bitterly at myself for being so delusional—for ever believing Alpha Damon would choose me over the love of his life.

I left the garden with my head lowered. He didn’t try to stop me.

When I returned to my room, Christina came in and said softly, “My Lady, I hope you will consider the Alpha. There is a prophecy that if you leave him, the pack will fall.”

ALEXANDERI didn’t know either. It just felt like nothing I ever wished for came true. I prayed every day for my father’s love, but I was never loved by my own father. I wished for a peaceful childhood, but my stepfather tortured me constantly. My dreams and hopes for a better future were always shattered by reality.I looked away from the window and sat on my bed before saying to Christina, “I’m hungry.”She didn’t stay for a reply. Christina quietly turned and left, then returned a short while later with my breakfast. After I finished eating, I expected the maids to drag me to the bathroom, scrub me clean, force clothes onto me, and then take me to the high platform where I would be crowned. But to my shock, Chris leaped through the window and landed inside my room. He looked at me with a grin on his face. Glancing outside, I guessed he had jumped over thirty feet to get in.“You shouldn’t resist. Just go along with his plans. You’ll be leaving the pack at dusk tomorrow,” Chris said

ALEXANDERChristina’s words caught me off guard. I stared at her in surprise, and when she noticed she had my full attention, she continued excitedly.“That was the reason Alpha Damon started visiting your home. I don’t know what went wrong for him to fall in love with Tracy instead of you.”I pressed my lips together and tried to remember. When I was five years old, whenever my stepmother, Jezebel, starved me, Alpha Damon would sneak into our house and bring me food. It went on like that for months. But after he stopped my stepmother from selling me off, everything changed. He refused to speak to me. He no longer bothered with me, and even when I tried to talk to him, he ignored me.But all of that was in the past.Especially after I became fatter, he would look at me with so much disgust that I no longer dared to appear before him.I looked at Christina and said, “There is nothing you can say that will change my mind. I have no feelings for Alpha Damon.”Christina stared at me silen

ALEXANDERI was shocked by Chris’s confidence. I looked at him doubtfully, but he said nothing more. Instead, he leaped away and disappeared into the midst of the flowers.I didn’t dwell much on his words. Turning around, I returned to my room. The lights were out, but with my sharp eyesight, I could still make out a silhouette standing by the window. From his styled hair, the knife tattoo on the back of his neck, and his posture, I already knew it was Damon. I was surprised that he had been watching Chris and me talk in the garden all along, and I was certain he had heard everything we discussed.“What are you doing in my room?” I asked, uneasy at being alone with him there. He didn’t turn to look at me. He simply retorted, “You really couldn’t wait to leave the pack with my uncle, could you? Are you always this desperate for a taste of new dick?”Anger flared inside me at his words, and I sneered. “I couldn’t wait to leave the pack because of your lousy skills in bed. Your uncle is

ALEXANDERI hadn’t left my room for days, and Alpha Damon hadn’t come either. By noon on the third day, Christina looked at me with pleading eyes and said softly, “My Lady, why don’t you give Alpha Damon another chance? I have watched him grow. He hurt you and acted rashly because of the pain of losing Tracy, but he has healed and become a better man. If you give him a second chance, he will treat you better.”I looked at Christina and asked, “Why did he blame me for Tracy’s death? Am I not a victim too?”Christina pursed her lips, but I didn’t let the matter go. With a sneer, I said, “Everyone hated me for a death I didn’t cause. Do you know what it means to grow up worse than an orphan?”Her eyes widened in shock at my words, but I didn’t give her time to respond. Anger poured out of me as I continued, “It means having a father, yet growing up without fatherly love. It means having a family, yet being treated worse than a slave in your own home.”My emotions surged, my chest tighten

ALEXANDERI cracked a grin and shot back, “Are you sure you can do it?”A frown settled on my father’s face as he replied irritably, “If you have something to ask, then ask it quickly. Why are you wasting time talking nonsense?”Even so, I caught the hint of wariness in his eyes. I didn’t care. Lifting my chin, I made my bold request.“I want you to send me away from the pack—to somewhere the pack has no influence, somewhere no one can reach me, somewhere no one will recognize me.”My father’s expression darkened at once, and he snapped, “Foolish child! Don’t ever think of such a thing. You will remain in this pack until the day you grow old and die. Don’t even dream of leaving.”With that, he turned away angrily and let out a disdainful snort. “What a waste. I should never have come here. She has completely ruined my mood.”I didn’t dwell much on my father’s visit. At dawn the next morning, Christina came to my room as usual. After breakfast, she informed me, “You will be having your
